Winter is the season for peppermints and pine trees and the lovely scents that come along with them. On Pinterest (I may have a slight addiction), I found multiple DIY recipes for different mint scrubs and products. Since it’s the holiday season, I thought I’d share a couple that make for a perfect present… or for your own enjoyment!
For the first recipe, you’ll need a few key ingredients: coconut oil, sugar, peppermint oil extract, and green or red food coloring. First, microwave a ½ cup of coconut oil in a bowl for about 15-30 seconds until it’s softened. Take out your bowl and add 1 ½ cups of sugar along with a drop or two of whatever festive food coloring you choose. Add more sugar until you get the right consistency. There you have it, you’re done!
Another recipe contains the following ingredients: 1 cup of sea salt or sugar, a ½ cup of organic almond oil, a ¼ cup of organic honey, peppermint essential oil, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. To start off, mix the salt or sugar with the almond oil and honey. Add in about ten drops of peppermint oil with the vanilla extract to follow. Stir together and add more sugar to meet your desired consistency!
Which scrub is your favorite? Try them out and let me know below!
