“Sleep considered to be sufficient to keep one looking young and beautiful.” This is the real definition of what us girls call beauty sleep. Whether sleep really helps us stay looking awake and youthful, there is some evidence behind the truth of it. So… beauty sleep: real or fake?
You all know the feeling of staying up way too late for a big test the next morning. Then, the minute you wake up and look in the mirror, the bags under your eyes show everyone else just how much sleep you actually got. Dark circles are one of the first indicators of lack of sleep. And let’s face it, we all hate dark circles and would do anything to get rid of them. Sleep really does help and is one of the only ways to fully reduce those awful circles!
Sleep benefits more than just tired eyes. Your skin actually replenishes and repairs itself faster while you sleep. A lack of sleep can slow or disrupt this process. As teenagers, we’re supposed to get a recommended 8 hours of sleep. Without enough of it, our skin ages faster. Along with that, your skin actually loses its radiance. It’s proven that little sleep can make your skin look duller.
Beauty sleep is REAL! A continued lack of sleep can actually make a difference. So ladies, buy a planner or make a schedule to make sure you get your hours in! You won’t only feel different but look different too!
