When you were little did you devour fruit roll ups in 2.5 seconds like I did? Those were the glory days, when you didn’t have to worry about how much sugar and terrible ingredients were in those sweet rolls of tangy goodness. Well, now I know how to make my very own fruit roll ups from actual fruit that I don’t feel bad about devouring!
Ingredients:
- 8 cups of cubed watermelon
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
Directions:
Line two baking sheets with silicone baking sheets or parchment paper and preheat the oven to 170 degrees. Puree the watermelon and drain the juice as much as you can. Press the juice out with paper towels or anything that works to get the juice out. Combine the drained watermelon with the sugar and blend it together to make a smooth mixture. Divide the watermelon puree between the 2 pans and spread it in an even layer. Bake it for 3 hours, rotating the pans 180 degrees and swapping rack levels every hour. Transfer the cooked fruit rolls onto cutting boards so you can cut them like you want, and then store them in an air tight container!
These snacks are the perfect sweet on-the, chewey treat!
XOXO, Chels
