I hate feeling rushed. Whether I sleep in late and have to rush to get out the door or have a busy day and have to rush around in order to get everything done that I need to, I just really dislike being rushed. That goes for the “getting ready” process as well. When I don’t have time to get ready in the morning it makes me feel unprepared for my day and I feel “off” the rest of the day. This also goes for when I don’t have time to get ready for an event or outing because I got tied up doing something else. Here are 5 tips on how to get ready quickly when you are crunched for time.

  1. Use lipstick on everything: Meaning you can use it on places other than your lips such as your cheeks and eyelids. If you are running late or are in a bind, use a dab of lipstick on your cheeks and eyelids to add a pop of color.
  2. Forget foundation: When you are running late you have zero time to spend applying foundation. So, just dab concealer on your problem areas and then powder your T-zone.c8d0bdce6c9dbbf9c0e970f4515f47a7c6cf3ce22f933cb6a32eb4b7c4aeb79f
  3. Smudge your eyeliner: Take a Q-tip to smudge your eyeliner to accent your eyes in a pinch. Apply a dash of eyeliner and then smudge it.
  4. Use your fingers: You can use your fingers to apply almost any beauty product to your face. This saves time because instead of reaching for brushes (or forgetting to bring them with you if you are doing your makeup on the road), you can just swipe with your fingers.
  5. Go with a bold lip: When all else fails and you are completely out of time, a bold lip is just what you need. A red bold lip can make you look way more put together than you think! Plus it makes you FEEL more put together. 😉

I would not consider myself a runner, but every once in a while I like to mix a good run into my workout routine. Summer is almost here, and I plan on spending every minute I can with my friends. We are all going off to college in the fall and are going our separate ways. I started creating a “bucket list” of sorts for my friends and I for the summer that is made up of a bunch of fun, creative, sometimes crazy things I think we should do to make the most of the time we have. Here is a list of 10 things on my summer bff bucket list!

  1. Take a road trip, even if it is just a day trip
  2. Volunteer together
  3. Marathon a TV series
  4. Cook a fancy dinner together

  6. See your favorite band or musician in concert
  7. Try an extreme sport like ziplining or bungee jumping
  8. Take exercise classes together
  9. Go on a hike
  10. Be a tourist in your own city

Odds are, you are no stranger to stress. School, work, friends, family, there are so many things vying for our time and attention and sometimes we feel like we are being pulled a million ways at once and that there is no possible way to get everything done that we need to. Then, there are those people who don’t seem to feel any stress at all, even though they’ve got lives just as busy as ours. How do they do it?! How do they manage their stress and make it seem so easy? Here are 5 habits of the less-stressed people of the population.

  1. Laugh lots: Laughing every day is a great way to manage stress. Laughter releases endorphins, stimulates your lungs and heart, and improves your circulation which all help calm your stress response.
  2. Be grateful: Being thankful helps you decrease your worries and increases your focus on the positive things in life which helps fight negativity.
  3. Exercise: Working out doesn’t just strengthen your body, it also strengthens your mind. It helps you stay calm because exercising is an outlet for frustrations. It also increases the hormones in your brain that make you feel happy and good.62824517
  4. Get enough sleep: Sleep and stress go together like peanut butter and jelly. Healthy people who know how to deal with stress know that sleep is a priority. Lack of sleep can make you angry, sad, mentally exhausted, and stressed.
  5. Watch the caffeine intake: You may think of caffeine as the magical substance that helps you power through the day, but it actually may be causing you stress. Caffeine can actually increase the symptoms of stress, so limit how much you take in on a daily basis.

Stress doesn’t have to rule our lives! Hopefully these tips from people who know how to stay on top of stress help you do the same.

Are you going on a beach vacay this summer, or do you live by the beach? Running on the beach is a really awesome total body workout because the sand provides resistance that sculpts and tones your body. An added bonus, the ocean is just a few feet away for a post-run cool down! Here are a few beach-running tips.

  1. Pick your time wisely: Humidity and heat encompass warm weather areas, so it is best to run either early in the morning or in the evening around sunset. The sun will be less intense and it there will be cooler temps.Beach Run
  2. Know the tide: Low tide is early in the morning or in the evening, which means the sand will be harder and more even under your feet. This is easier on your joints and is better on your body. But, if you run in the middle of the day when the sand is more mushy it can be a good booty workout!
  3. Footwear: Running barefoot in the sand strengthens your feet and ankles. But, to keep your feet safe from sharp objects and shells it may be wise to wear shoes.

Start slow, take it easy, and work your way up to longer runs, just like you would with any other form of exercise. I cannot think of a more enjoyable way to exercise than a run on the beach!

Job 18:11 says “Having hope will give you courage.” In this next season in my life, and a lot of your lives if you are high school seniors going into college soon, we will need a lot of courage.

Courage to defend our Faith, courage to do life how we know we should, not how society says we should, and courage to step out in 10024119142837e7645ed6895cded520the adventure that is college. When Job says that having hope will give you courage, I think this means a few things. I think that first, this means that having hope in Jesus and his promise to guide your life and bless you in ways you cannot imagine. And two, I think this means that you need to have hope in the tough times and in the times when it is hard to find hope. Hope will give you courage to move forward.

So, have hope, even in the hard times, because that will give you courage. The world needs more courageous women like you!

The list of brilliant beauty hacks I’ve found online is endless. The amount of crazy ideas and tricks with different products and utensils keeps getting bigger and bigger. Recently, I came across an article that had several beauty tricks using a spoon! What??? Since I was curious, I tried some of them out. To my surprise, they’re brilliant!

  • Ever have trouble getting your contour just right? Take a spoon and place it on your cheekbone. Then use your bronzer or contour kit to make the perfect line! (Don’t forget to blend!)
  • One of the most annoying things is applying mascara and getting it on your eyelid. Then you have to figure out how to get it off without messing up your lashes! Place a spoon on your eyelid to avoid this mistake. (This works for your bottom lashes, too!)Chelsea Crockett - Spoon Hack
  • As teenagers, we don’t get as much sleep as we should. I often wake up with bags under my eyes from not getting enough sleep the night before. Keep a spoon in your fridge to get it nice and cold and apply it to your dark circles in the morning. It’ll help reduce the puffiness!
  • If you’ve ever shattered blush, bronzer, or eye shadow, you know how frustrating it can be. Use a spoon to press the product back together! It may not solve all your problems, but it will press it back to its original state (as best as it can!).

Most either know one side or the other, so here’s a little insight on both sides of the brand!

Let’s start with the side Adidas is known for. Ever since 1949, Adidas has been creating workout and exercise clothing for decades. Acne can be caused by a multitude of things. Anything from a bad diet to touching your face too much can be harmful to your skin. There are tons of different things we do daily that we don’t even realize are giving way to breakouts. Here are some avoidable actions that can prevent sneaky acne from showing up!

  • How many times do you use your phone a day? For me, I’m on my iPhone texting, uploading, and calling throughout my entire day. Our hands are covered in bacteria, and we transport that to our screens every time we send a text. Then we transport that to our face whenever we make a phone call! I suggest cleaning your phone every once in a while to eliminate any pesky bacteria.
  • Makeup Brushes. If you don’t make it routine to wash your makeup brushes regularly, bacteria could be hiding in them. Wash them occasionally to get rid of any built-up of bacteria.Chelsea Crockett - Makeup Brushes
  • Heavy Foundation. Caking on foundation will clog up your pores and cause breakouts. Use a lighter foundation or simply apply a smaller amount.
  • Heavy coffee drinkers beware! Coffee can throw off the pH of your skin and cause breakouts. Consume more tea as a substitute!
  • Lack of sleep. Lack of sleep is not only bad for your body and mind, but your skin as well! In order for your body to fight unwanted bacteria, get the recommended 7-9 hours of sleep!

  3. Tunic cover-ups are more on the fashionable side. You can find them in all different colors, materials, patterns, etc. These are more common and easier to find throughout the mall, at department stores, etc. Along with lace cover-ups, they’re light, cool, and easy to throw on!

As you well know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and undoubtably the most skipped meal of the day. But, nonetheless, an important meal. Breakfast food is some of the best food, too. Pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon….mmmm…You know what would make breakfast even better? Protein. Protein keeps you full and focused, which gets you off to a good healthy start. Here is a recipe for protein pancakes that is super easy and is bound to start your day off in the sweetest way possible!

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup dry oatsprotein-pancakes-banana-oat
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened almond milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Whisk the liquid ingredients together, and then add in the oats and protein powder. Cook the pancakes on a heated skillet, about ¼ cup of pancake mixture for each pancake. This recipe should make about 4 pancakes.

As most of you know, I will be heading off to college in California the fall. I am so so excited, but also a little nervous. I want to be prepared for college as much as I can be, and I want to make the transition as easy as possible. That is why it is never too early to start the planning process. One of the biggest things for me is knowing what to get for my dorm room and for classes. I want to be ready for anything! Here are the top 20 items on my college shopping list.

  1. Cute bedding: there is nothing like a cute comforter to brighten up a dorm room!
  2. Comfy sleeping pillow
  3. A nice towel set: this needs to include a bath towel, hand towel, and wash cloths!
  4. Shower shoes: like flip flops. These are VITAL.
  5. All bathroom essentials: like mouthwash, toothpaste, floss, face cleanser and makeup wipes, hair straightener, curling iron, etc.
  6. Bath robe: for walking to/from the shower, or just for lounging in your dorm room
  7. Mirror: A floor-length mirror that you can prop up against the wall is a good idea, or one that hangs over the door
  8. Laundry bin9015-2
  9. Mini fan: for those days when your dorm room is downright stuffy
  10. Scarf hanger, regular hangers, shoe organizer, jewelry organizer, all closet organization
  11. Cute lamp for your desk
  12. Pain meds like Tylenol and Ibuprofen

  14. First aid kit
  15. Tissues
  16. Planner: I love my planner and live by it. In college it is especially important to have a daily planner to keep up with school assignments and social events!
  17. Binders, notebooks, paper, folders for class
  18. Power strip or extension cord: for all of those electronics you and your roomie will be sharing!
  19. Alarm clock: unless you use your phone as your alarm, of course
  20. Stain remover, lint roller, germ X, anything you think your mom would have handy!

Now this isn’t a comprehensive list by any means. Just a little something to get your brain thinking about what you will be needing here in a few short months if you are like me and going off to college.

  • I don’t know about you, but I’m not the best at keeping my room clean! I’ve learned it’s much easier to do a 10 minute clean up each day rather than let clothes pile up over days at a time. During the summer, this will be much easier to maintain!
  • I’ve always been told “breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” I never realized how true this was until I made it a point to have breakfast every morning! Having something as simple as a smoothie will not only energize you but make you more motivated to start your day!
  • Wash your face, drink a cup of green tea, and take a refreshing shower. Make this a routine! Your body will thank you.
  • Take time to spend with God. Read a devotion if you have one, and if not, read a certain section of the Bible every day.

All of these things will be easier to accomplish without homework and school in the way… and I encourage you to do so!

A year or so ago I wrote a blog about color-changing lipstick. The actual lipstick is green, but when you put it on your lips it turns a shade of pink that depends on the pH of your skin. It is literally the shade of pink that your body thinks looks best on you! You will never believe what I found recently…green blush that does the same thing!

Now, this blush looks a little intimidating when you see it. It is wicked-witch-of-the-west green. Some people may think “there is NO way I am putting green blush on my face!” And to them I say, you are missing out! This blush changes color with the wearer’s skin, just like the lipstick I was talking about above. The blush is by “Lipstick 504606208_1_tabletopQueen” and is called “Frog Prince Cream Blush.” It has specific color-changing technology that interacts with the pH level of the person’s skin and turns it a natural shade of pink that is customized to each wearer. Just put it on like regular blush and boom, you’ve got your own pretty pink shade!

Life is crazy. Crazy busy, that is. We have jobs, school, church, family, friends, and everything in-between competing for our attention. We rarely take the time to just slow down and take life in. Our lives are in constant fast-forward, and we try to cram as much as we can into the day as we can. We are constantly connected to each other, and I blame this for some of the craziness. Even when we are sitting watching a movie, half the time we are on our computer and texting also. The whole life-in-fast-forward thing really bugs me. You only get one life, so why not slow it down and enjoy as much as you can of it? Here are a few ways to slow down and enjoy life.

  1. Do one thing at a time: Like I said earlier, lots of times when we are watching tv we are also on our phone, checking email, eating, and maybe 3 other things at once as well. Turn things off and focus on one thing at a time so you can really enjoy it!
  2. Take time to enjoy your hobbies: Block off some time and do something you love! Life isn’t all about work. Go on a run, read a chapter of a book, start a drawing, play the piano for a few minutes, take a break from life and do things that make you happy!FullSizeRender (68)
  3. Disconnect: Put your phone in a drawer and leave it there. Being connected to other people 24/7 via your phone is #1 exhausting and #2 doesn’t allow you any time to have “me” time and time to slow down. Only check your social media once or twice a day. You will be amazed how much time you have for other things when you limit yourself to that.
  4. Stop rushing around: Rushing around = stressful. Leave the house early to avoid the stress of running late and having to rush.

I need to take a dose of my own advice and slow down, too. Life can be so much more enjoyable when you stop and smell the roses and take the scenic route.

So, here is the deal. You wore this super cute outfit out with your friends, and are feeling supa-fine. You all take a picture together, they post it, and you look at it later and think “holy cow, did I really look like THAT?!” We have all had that happen to us. Our outfit looks great in the mirror or on the hanger, but when we see our self later in a pic, we realize it was less than flattering. To avoid this happening to you ever again, here is a list of the most photogenic clothes!

  1. Fitted sweater: Even in the spring and summer, a sweater can be worn quite stylishly with a skirt or shorts! I know we all loooove our oversized sweaters and blouses, but save them for a day when you know you won’t be needed in any photos because they add bulk to your frame. If you just cannot part with your oversized tops, then tuck them into a pair of highrise shorts or jeans to show off your waist.115847-d-black-0
  2. A midi skirt: As we have discussed, I love midi skirts. They are a great equalizer that works for everyone and are appropriate for every occasion. They cinch your waist and make it look slim, then flairs out to give you shape!
  3. Strappy heels: These shoes are so popular right now- from the red carpet to prom to date night! A two strap heel, like the ones in the picture, straightens your posture, lengthens your legs, and if you choose a nude pair they go with everything!
  4. Off-the-shoulder: I have written about these before… I love them so much! They are so flattering because they show off your shoulders and collarbones while disguising your upper arms, which are the widest part of your arms.

Life isn’t easy. Then again, nothing that is worth it is easy. Life is hard work. It doesn’t go as planned, which I am finding painfully true. Crises happen, things/people are taken away, nothing is predictable in this world. But there is one thing in life that you can always count on, and can know without a shadow of a doubt will always be there. That is Jesus.

Many times we turn to God when times are hard and when we need help, and that is great, but we need to turn to Him in the good times, too. It is so important to have a strong foundation in your Faith, and to be seeking CXAHPMMW8AIqcedGod all the time. This is because when crises hit, when the times get tough, you need to be able to fall back on that Faith to get you through those times. You need to have a strong relationship with God and understand who He is. You need to remember that He is good and that He knows everything that is happening and that WILL happen in your life. Nothing is a surprise to Him! I saw a quote the other day that totally summed this thought up. It said “I don’t know what He’s doing, but I know who He is.” This, to me, says that I don’t know the plan for my life, but He does, and I know God and that He is in control and has my life in His hands, and that is enough for me. What a comfort to know that we do not have to worry about our future because He has it all under control!

It is so important to be constantly growing in your Faith and seeking God, so when hard times hit you can be confident in His plans for you and that He is not giving you anything that you cannot handle.

It’s not only the start of summer and the end of the school year but the beginning of many, many graduation parties! Especially if you’re a senior, like me, you’ll have dozens of parties to attend! If you’ve never been to one, it’s hard to know what to wear and what type of present you should bring. Here’s my take on it :)!

If you’re attending the party with your parents, most of the time your gift will be from your whole family. Most of the time, it’s your closer friends’ parties that you’re going to, so you should have an idea of what they like or don’t like. The concept of “stop taking things personally” is a tough one for me to grasp. I wouldn’t consider myself a super sensitive person, but I can definitely take things to heart, and can feel like I am to blame when something negative happens. If you are a sensitive person, then you are familiar with the feeling of “it’s all my fault.” Rather than feeling like the world is on your shoulders, you need to be able to feel free of anxiety and be confident! Here are 4 ways to help you stop taking things personally.

  1. Know that not everyone needs to like you: Yes, in an ideal world everyone would like everyone and get along, but that is not the world we live in. It can be exhausting to try and please everyone, and there is no need for it! It is impossible for everyone to like you, so don’t take it personally if someone doesn’t. Some people just flat out don’t like me. And I have realized that it is okay! I am confident in who I am, I have friends and family that think I am the bomb.com, and I have you guys!   2. Don’t jump to conclusions: If someone says something negative that you think is directed towards you, don’t immediately get defensive and hurt. Take a second and step back. Odds are, the comment or criticism wasn’t actually directed towards you, or if it was, it could be a reflection of their insecurities.
  3. Just do you: Don’t let other people try and tell you who you are. What other people say about us can really have an impact on us, and it can be hard not to let it get to you. Just because people say it doesn’t make it true! You know who you are. You know what you are all about and your value and worth. Some people just choose not to recognize it. Like I said earlier, a lot of times when people criticize others, it is because they are insecure.

So, instead of feeling like it is your fault that someone doesn’t like you or that something negative happens, realize that everything is not your fault and other people cannot control how you feel about yourself, only you can!

Makeup remover is the best thing in the world when it comes to a quick fix for taking off your makeup. Some people confuse it as an every night substitute for washing your face which shouldn’t be the case! Others question if it’s hurting their skin much more than helping it. I did a little research and dug up some answers!

Is there a food more fun than Funfetti? Doubtful. Is there a food more fun than cake batter Funfetti Popsicles? WAY doubtful. If you are in the summer snack spirit, take a swing at these sweet treats!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup heavy creamFunfettiCakeBatterPopsicles_2
  • ½ cup, plus 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp powdered milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ¼ cups whole milk.
  • ¼ cup sprinkles

In the bowl of your mixer, add in the heavy cream and powdered sugar. Whip until light and fluffy, which should take about 2 minutes. Next, add in the milk powder and vanilla and beat for another minute. Pour in the milk and mix it in until it is all well combined. Grab a popsicle mold and fill each compartment up about ¼ of the way full. Add some sprinkles to each, then fill up the molds ½ way, add sprinkles, and repeat the process until the molds are full. Insert the popsicle sticks into each, then stick them in the freezer until frozen completely. After they are frozen solid (about 6 hours), remove them from the molds and gobble them up!

On a warm spring/summer day, these hit the spot!

This past weekend I went on a college visit with my parents to California. It was amazing and made me soooo excited to start my college journey! But, it also made me super nervous. I have so many questions about what college is going to be like and so many fears, so I go to my college friends for advice. They said the first day of college can be a doosie, so they gave me some advice on how to conquer it! Here is what they told me:

  1. Leave your dorm room door cracked: An “open door” policy is always a good one to have. It gives people the opportunity to come in and introduce themselves. An open door = a friendly person living in the room. People are more likely to come in and ask you to go do stuff!trying-to-find-your-class-on-your-first-day-in-college_gp_2079063
  2. Don’t spend your first night alone: Have a girls night with your roommates and some gal pals in your dorm room. Being around people will ward off homesick-ness and will help you make friends.
  3. Get acquainted with the campus beforehand: Not knowing where your classes are on the first day is a recipe for disaster, mostly because most college campuses are big and your morning classes could be on the total opposite side of the map than your afternoon classes. Know where you’re going, it seriously helps relieve first-day stress.
  4. Wear something you are comfy in: Be comfy and confident on your first day! Dress like yourself. Show people who you are.
  5. Don’t get discouraged: If you don’t make friends right away, don’t worry! If you don’t feel “at home”, you will eventually! If your first day is pretty bad, don’t let it get you down. It only gets better from here!

Our culture is so fast paced and dominated by technology. With all of the distractions around is, it can be easy to forget how important it is to show people we are thinking about them, we love them, and we care about them. How long has it been since you told your best friend you were thinking about her? If you don’t see her every day, it can be easy to forget to remind her how much she means to you. Same goes to your sister or your boyfriend. Here are a few ways to let the people you care about know, well, that you care about them!

  1. Handwritten notes: Knowing that you spent the time to hand write them a letter will warm their heart. Handwriting someone you love a letter is even shown to decrease YOUR stress and improve your mood! Everyone loves getting a “love note.”09-
  2. Remembering the little details: Does your bff have a test on Tuesday? Text her that morning and wish her luck! Does your boyfriend have a big baseball game coming up? Text him before and let him know you are rooting for him. You can even show up to the game with his favorite snack and give it to him after the game. He will be so impressed you remembered what his favorite candy bar is and thought to bring it to him! Remembering the details shows how much you care.
  3. Random surprises: Out of the blue gifts are so fun to receive because you had no clue it was coming, and it can totally brighten your day! Doing random acts of kindness is not only great for others, but it is good for you as well because it increases your mood! Surprise your sister with flowers today and watch her face light up.

As you all know, I’m a makeup fanatic. I love playing around with different products to see what looks best on me. My favorite part about putting on makeup is doing my eyes. There are so many ways to switch up your look just based off your eyeshadow, eyeliner, etc. Here are three of my favorite palettes that I use every day!

My number one go-to brand of palettes is Urban Decay. Their Naked Palettes are amazing and filled with a variety of different shades. As of now, they’ve came out with four different palettes. The fourth one, and most recent, is called the Naked Smoky Palette. Chelsea Crockett - Tarte PaletteIt’s probably my favorite out of the four! It has tons of different dark and light complimentary shades that create the perfect smoky eye in a variety of different combinations.

Another brand of palettes I’ve recently fallen in love with are the Tarte palettes. My favorite one is the product on the right. It’s called the Tartelette in Bloom Clay Palette. All of the nudes and browns are perfect for a natural summer look! The palette is $45 which may seem expensive at first, but it’s worth it!

Two Faced is another good brand to check out! Their Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Collection not only has a great variety of colors but even smells like chocolate… WHAT? As soon as you open it, you’ll smell the sweet chocolatey aroma! Each eyeshadow is even made with cocoa powder. How cool is that?

In John 15:12 the Bible tells us to “Love each other as I have loved you.” It is easy to love your family and friends (most of the time at least 😉 ) but it is not always easy to love those who have done you wrong. So, how do we love everyone, even those we dislike, like God loved us, and why should we?

Easy. Because God says so. I know that is the most “Bible” answer ever, but it is the truth. We should love johnothers like God loves us, because it shows that we are different. When people see how differently you treat others and how you love others, they will be curious as to what it is that makes you different. It is Jesus that makes you different! It is the fact that you know you should love people like God loves you. God loves you even though you have disappointed Him, even though you sin, even though you sometimes do or say things that are harmful or hurtful to others. This is how you should love others, in spite of their flaws and sins. Now, this doesn’t mean you have to be their BFF, it just means you need to treat them with respect and love, just as God treats you.

You will change people’s lives when you love them as God loves you. It is so different from how the world is used to being treated. Be different, and make a difference.

Makeup brushes are one of the most-used items in our beauty arsenal. They help us put on our foundation, bronzer, blush, powder, and everything else you can imagine. Because they are used so much, they can start to gather bacteria and germs and need to be cleaned at least once a month. Here is how to make your own homemade brush cleaner to get those babies looking as good as new!

  1. Fill a small dish with olive oil and another with baby wash.brush
  2. Wet your brush, pour a little olive oil and a little baby wash onto a saucer. Work the wet brush into the mixture, swishing it around and using your fingers to mix the oil and baby wash into the bristles.
  3. Rinse the brush under warm water thoroughly, gently squeezing the extra water out after you are finished rinsing.
  4. Lay out a paper towel and lay the brush on it, propping the brush handle up so that it is higher than the bristles. Allow the brush to air dry over night.

Do this sequence with all of your brushes to get them squeaky clean and full of germs! Dirty brushes can cause pimples on your face from the bacteria on them, so cleaning your brushes is key to a clear complexion!

Festival season is amongst us! Coachella in April and many more to follow throughout the summer that are on my not to miss list. Festival style mainly revolves around the Boho-styled look. Lots of jewelry, fun patterns, and unique materials are fun to experiment with for your festival! Here are some pointers when picking out your outfit!

At festivals like Coachella, picking out your outfit is only the first step. Accessorizing should be your main focus in putting together your look. Metallic tattoos are so cute and can be bought in gold or silver to match your jewelry. Check them out!

I’ve recently been seeing two reoccurring trends in upcoming festival style: hats and midi cardigans. Hats are fashionable and are perfect for being in the sun all day! As for midi cardigans, ones that are patterned and light-weighed are cute and good for the heat.

Do you ever feel like you are missing out? That other people are doing all of these cool things, traveling places, being adventurous, doing big things, and you are just living a normal life? That, my friend, is one of the worst feelings.

Social media makes it so easy for us to compare our lives to other people’s, and I think that is one of the worst things about it. Yes, it is fun to be able to see how other people’s lives differ from ours and it gives us a look into how other people live, but it becomes unhealthy when we start to become unhappy with our own lives because we think other people have it so much better. Why cant I travel like her? Why haven"t I gotten a cool job like othershers? She gets to do so many fun things and has her life together. Why cant I be like that? Those thoughts will bring you down. I have started to realize something. It is that it doesn’t matter with other people are doing, it matters what YOU are doing. You are an amazing person who has done amazing things, and the amazing things that you have done/are doing are different than the amazing things that other people are doing, but that doesn’t make them any less amazing! So what if someone you know got a super cool internship and you’ve never had one before. Don’t become jealous, be happy that she got an amazing opportunity and know that in your future you can have something just as cool! Just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it wont. The cool things people are doing now can happen to you, too! Just give it time and enjoy what is happening in your life here and now.

Remember, it doesn’t matter what other people are doing, it matters what YOU are doing. Make the most of the time you are given. Do things that matter. Make a difference. Live life!

I absolutely love to travel, and thank goodness for that because I travel often! Just recently I went to Coachella in California, and also went to Playlist Live in Orlando! Because I travel bunches, I spend lots of time in airports. Now, I wouldn’t say I am an expert at airports, but I know a thing or two that makes traveling in them a little less of a chore. Here are 4 of my top airport hacks to help save you time and money!

  1. Bring your own snacks: Try as hard as you can to avoid buying snacks and drinks at the airport. They are waaaay overpriced. Pack travel snacks like granola bars and trail mix to munch on. Also, pack an empty water bottle in your luggage to fill up once you pass security.
  2. Wear the extra luggage: If your carry-on is close to the weight limit, wear your heaviest pieces and layer them to get past security. After you have gone through, head to the bathroom and take off the layers and pack them up. You might want to keep a jacket or sweater out of your bag, airports and planes can get chilly!airporthacksbig2air
  3. Store your laptop in an easily accessed place: When you go through security they scan your laptop, which means you have to take it out of your luggage. Don’t be that person riffling through their suitcase, holding up the line at security because you packed your laptop in a hard to reach place!
  4. Make your luggage distinguishable: Standing around, waiting for your luggage after a long day of traveling is the worst part of the day. If you tie colored ribbons or fabric onto the handles of your luggage you will be able to quickly find it, grab it, and be on your merry way.
  5. Bring a portable battery charger: Airports do have charging stations, but they are usually majorly crowded. To make sure your phone never runs out of juice, carry a portable battery charger with you. That way you can charge it while you are waiting AND during your flight!

I often hear people say “Man, I wish I had a better metabolism and could eat anything I wanted.” It is true, a fast metabolism is something that a lot of us wish for. Luckily, it can be achieved! There are a lot of things you do every day unknowingly that are driving your metabolism down, so it is important to drop these habits if you want to improve your metabolism.

  1. Sitting all day: When you sit all day it causes your body to turn off at the metabolic level as your circulation slows. Your fat burning enzymes turn off and your blood sugar is used less. Try getting up and walking ever hour or so to wake your circulation up.
