Makeup in the 1900’s was so fun and lively; so when I watched the movie The Great Gatsby, I became inspired by each and every look! I looked more into how they did the makeup and wanted to share one of my favorite tips I learned! Keep on reading to find out how you can get The Great Gatsby inspired lip look!

Start by choosing your lip color. The colors used for this look are dark and deep, so go with a maroon or wine shade. Begin by applying a primer so the dark colors don’t sink into your lip lines. Next, using a lip pencil of the same color as your lipstick, fill in your entire lip. This will keep the color looking rich all night long. Apply the lipstick, preferably a long-lasting brand, and spread it evenly on your upper and bottom lip. You can even use a lip brush to fill in the lines. Last, apply a gloss of the same shade on your bottom lip and rub them together. This will give your lips that “plump” illusion, while bringing out the rich colors.

There you have it! Now you can put on a little black dress and rock your Gatsby inspired lip all evening!
