Are you ever stalking a beauty guru on Instagram and you just get mesmerized by their eyeshadow? Like, you’re stuck wondering “how in the world do they shade that so well…and how long did it take them to do that?!” That was me a few years ago, until I asked a fellow beauty blogger what her secret to on-point eyeshadow was. Turns out I was doing it wrong the whole time! Here is how to get perfect shadow every time.
Step 1: Apply eyeshadow primer to your eyelids.
Step 2: Use a makeup brush to apply a light shade like nude or gold to your lids.
Step 3: This is where I had it all wrong. To apply the darker shades like brown or black to your creases, keep your eyes open. Yes, open! Brush the darker shadow into your creases and repeat on each eye. The “eye open” method allows you to be able to compare your shadow on each eye because you can see the whole time, plus it helps you keep the natural shape of your eyes! AKA, this helps your makeup look more natural.
Try this eyeshadow trick out for yourself and see if it makes a difference in your shadow skills!
XOXO, Chels
