Along with warm weather and hours of sunshine, summer brings along an endless amount of yummy, seasonal treats!  Although you can eat it year-round, ice cream tastes best when you"re by the pool or at a carnival.  Summer is also a time to show your creative side and try new things.  So why not try whipping up your own batch of ice cream?Chelsea Crockett - Ice Cream

Homemade ice cream is pretty simple to make.  Plus, it provides an activity for you and your friends to do at home!  To make this happen, you"ll need 1 cup of milk, a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 4-6 tablespoons of rock salt, 2 trays of ice cubes, a small amount of butter, and 5 teaspoons of flavored syrup.  If you prefer chocolate ice cream, then add one tablespoon of cocoa powder.  To start off, take a quart-sized plastic bag and pour in the sugar, flavoring, and milk.  Then you"ll need your rock salt and ice, preferably crushed.  Put these into a gallon-sized bag and place your quart-sized bag into this one.  For fifteen to twenty minutes, gently shake and message the bag.  After this, remove the ice cream and enjoy!
