I know just what you’re thinking… There’s such a thing as a FUN run?  Fun is not exactly the first thing I think of when I hear running!  Haha!  Believe it or not, there are actually several running events throughout the year that are creative and enjoyable to participate in!  So, if you are wanting to get active and in shape for summer, start with one of these runs to get you on your feet!

• The Color Run.  If you have never heard of The Color Run, you have got to check it out!  You show up to the 5k (3.1 miles) race wearing all white.  Throughout the walk/run, you get blasted with different colors of edible paint (so you don’t need to worry about accidentally swallowing it!).  Then after the race, you can enjoy a concert while getting blasted with colors on colors of paint!  Check it out at www.thecolorrun.com to see if they’re coming to your city!


• The Mud Run.  These are almost everywhere!  You can simply look up mud runs around your area and I guarantee there will be one!  The name is basically self-explanatory.  That being said, it’s a fun 5k run through pools, puddles, pits, etc. of mud!  If you’re one that doesn’t mind getting a little dirty, this run is for you :).


• The Zombie Run.  If you’re a thrill seeker, this run is for you.  As you run through the night, you will encounter many obstacles… and zombies!  Not only do you have to climb through ropes and tunnels, but get chased by zombies, as well!  I don’t suggest this run if you get scared super easily, but it’s extremely fun to experience with your friends.
