I recently shared an article with you about how to use apples for beauty remedies. Now, I want to talk to you about one of my favorite apple desserts and how you can make them! We love apples at our house and with fall just around the corner, I know that means fresh caramel apples will be in our kitchen! What’s a bonfire without s’mores and caramel apples!? Therefore, I thought it would be fun to share a caramel apple recipe with you!First you need to cook 1 1/2 cups of sugar and 1/2 cup of water in a saucepan over medium heat. Be sure to swirl until golden brown. Remove from heat and stir in 1/4 cup of cream, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Transfer to a bowl that is tall and good for dipping apples and let the ingredients cool slightly! Insert a wooden stick into four apples and dip them into the caramel, one at a time. Be sure to set them on parchment paper after dipping. Then, let them harden by placing in the refrigerator if needed. You can also dip them in nuts, Oreos, M&M’s etc.! It’s quick, easy, and delicious!
There you have it….a perfect treat for bonfires, hayrides, Halloween parties, etc. What better way to kick off fall then to treat yourself and your friends to some homemade caramel apples! Yum!
Enjoy! – Chelsea
