           Discovering who you are is truly important.  It takes not only yourself, but the people you involve yourself with to help you figure that out.  When you surround yourself with good people, you are more likely to have a positive image about yourself.  Finding where you fit in is SO important!  The friends you choose can play a big part in your future.

            You’ve all heard the horror story “good girl gone bad.”  Someone can be brought up right, but fall into the wrong crowd.  The more you hang around a group or person, the easier it is to pick up their traits.  Unfortunately, many people fall into the wrong crowd.  Don’t let that happen to you!  Look for special traits in the friends you choose.  It might be the best decision you ever made.

1. Look for people who lift you up!  If you’re friends aren’t encouraging, then it’s time to find a new crowd.  Your true friends will build you up, not beat you down.


2. Real friends won’t peer pressure you!  Never feel like you have to conform to what your friends are doing.  True friends will respect and not question your decisions.


3. Have a laugh!  If your friends keep you smiling and laughing all the time, then be sure to keep them around.

Keep your eye open when choosing a group of friends, especially if you’re in a new setting like your first year of high school or college.  Always stay true to yourself and be sure to be a friend to others.
