Sleeping in late? Buying low-fat foods? Sipping on fruit juice to get your necessary vitamins? These all sound healthy, right? WRONG! Many “healthy” acts aren’t so healthy after all. You’d be surprised to find out what healthy acts and items I’m talking about. Keep on reading to find out how you can live a healthier life!
- When you’re out to eat, skip the hand sanitizer and go to the bathroom to wash your hands with good old-fashioned soap and water. Hand sanitizer dries out the skin and isn’t as effective as it claims to be.
- Fruit juice isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. When producers make juice, they remove the skin, which holds most of the nutrients and fiber. Basically, all you’re left with is sugar and added artificial flavors.
- You might be surprised to find that “catching up on sleep” isn’t actually a good thing. Research shows that those who sleep in for hours on the weekend to make up for a loss of sleep from the week-end up staying up later on Sunday nights resulting in tiredness on Monday. It’s a reoccurring cycle. Instead, try to keep a constant sleeping pattern.
- Just because something is labeled as low-fat, doesn’t mean it’s low calorie. Many low-fat foods actually have more carbs and grams of sugar to make up for the lack of taste. Instead, eat a healthy portion of the regular food item.
- Ignoring your sweet tooth sounds like a good idea right? When you’re body craves something you need to give it what it wants. By eating a small piece of dark chocolate, you will get rid of your sweet tooth and even score some healthy antioxidants. If you get rid of all sweets, you may find yourself binge eating cake one night.
It’s so important to always make healthy choices! I hope this helped!
Love you all,
Chelsea
