Summer is the prime time for your skin to be extra vulnerable to acne and breakouts. Using certain sunscreens, getting sweaty faces from the heat, and late nights prior to crawling into bed without washing your face are just a few examples. There are certain ways to prevent summer breakouts, and I have the scoop!
I know during the warm weather my skin gets extra oily and there"s no stopping it! This is one of the main causes to zits and acne. There is one way to slow down your oil glands and that"s by avoiding alcohol based skin products. These dry out your pores, tricking them into the urge to balance your skin"s moisture. Therefore, they over produce oil and make your face greasy and gross! Yuck!
Sunscreen is basically the answer to everything during the summer! Make sure you always, always, always wear sunscreen when you"re out in the sun for a long amount of time. No sunscreen equals sunburns, and sunburns equal dried out skin. And what happens to dry skin? Your oil glands will think they need to moisturize your skin, therefore causing oily skin. I suggest using a moisturizer with an SPF of at least 30 in it. You"re basically killing two birds with one stone :)!
Lastly, and most importantly, wash your face twice a day! Especially if you sweat a lot during your days in the sun. Sweat mixes with bacteria and dirt on your skin to create a ugly combination. Gross! Let me know what tricks you use for preventing summer breakouts in the comments below!
