Christmas time is here! I repeat, CHRISTMAS TIME IS HERE! And with Christmas come delicious treats. Today’s delicious Christmas-themed sweet is holiday popcorn that will remind you of the Grinch himself!

Ingredients:

• Microwave popcorn
• 3 cups mini marshmallows
• Blue and yellow food coloring
• Another 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
• Red M&Ms

Pop your microwave popcorn, and once it is done pull out all of the un-popped kernels. Next we make the marshmallow mixture. Melt ¼ cup of butter in a saucepan, and once it is melted add the 3 cups of marshmallows. Stir together until they are melted, and turn the heat off. Add 2 drops of yellow food coloring, mix until it is bright yellow, and then add a small drop of blue. Stir it until it turns green, then pour this mixture over the popcorn. Gently mix it in slowly until the popcorn is mostly covered. Cover a cookie sheet with foil, then pour the popcorn mixture onto it. Drizzle some of the marshmallow mixture over it so the M&Ms and marshmallows have something to stick to, then sprinkle ½ cup of mini marshmallows and M&Ms onto the popcorn. Allow it to cool, then eat up!

Dances in the spring and fall can be easy to shop for. The weather’s still warm enough for open-toed shoes and jacketless ensembles. On the other hand, winter dances can be a little tricky. Should you get a short or long dress? Should it be sleeved or sleeveless? I’m here to answer your questions!

• Short or long dress? Oftentimes, whether you wear a short or long will depend on how formal your winter dance is. But if you can go either or, I suggest a long dress or a short, sleeved dress! This way you can be a little warmer than if you wore a sleeveless, short dress.
• Inside or outside pictures? Finding a place for pictures is always a struggle. For the cold weather, I definitely suggest finding a pretty place inside to take your pictures. This way you’re not miserable in the cold and you don’t have to worry about any wind, rain, or snow to ruin your night!
• Jacket or no jacket? This goes back to whether your dress is sleeved or sleeveless. If your dress is sleeveless, then a jacket is a necessity. I suggest either a fancy pea coat or a short, nicer jacket or sweater.
• Heels or booties? As far as shoes go, it’s up to you! Although it’s cold, heels are still fine to wear to your dance. If you’d rather have closed-toe shoes, buy a pair of heeled booties!

Some of my close girl friends are in a tizzy right now. They are panicking because they have no idea what to get their dudes for Christmas! Have no fear, Chels is here! I have 3 gifts that will warm any boy’s heart.

1. 1 month of planned date nights: You know that horrible conversation you have with your BF before date night? The one that goes “what do you want to do?” “I don’t know…what do you want to do?” This gift saves you that convo! Have a bunch of date ideas written out on slips of paper, then fold them up and put them in a jar. This is a gift you will both enjoy!
2. His favorite candy or a candy card: The way to a boy’s heart is food. Get him a mixture of his favorite candies all wrapped up super cute, or make him a creative card using candy like this one! He will laugh at your “sweetness”. ;)
3. I like you because...”: Boys love to be complimented, just like girls! Maybe even more! They love to hear all the things you like about them. It lets them know how much you value them and appreciate them. Write things you like about them on slips of paper and put them in a jar for him to read when he needs a little pick-me-up. You can write anything you want, he will appreciate your thoughtfulness. It can be something as small as “you have the cutest smile”.

How much do you wear belts? My guess is only when your pants need assistance staying on your tush. Your winter wardrobe this year is dependent on them! Belts, that is. You can build your outfit around them and use them to accessorize! You can also use them to shape your clothes to your body. Bold belts can transform a simple ensemble into a stylish outfit. Here are 3 ways to use belts in your wardrobe this winter!

1. Blanket Scarf: Do you ever wonder what the best way to wear your blanket scarf is? They are so thick that sometimes it is difficult to style them. Belts transform your blanket scarf into a cute vest! Layer your scarf over a simple tee, drape it over your shoulders, and tie a belt around the middle. This gives you some curves and adds layers to your look.
2. Cape: Wear a classy cape with a belt around the middle! It breaks up the simplicity of the cape and, like the option above, it gives you some shape.
3. Printed: This last option is the simplest of all. Wear a patterned belt, like leopard print, with a simple shirt and jeans for a simple but sassy outfit. If you want to wear a simple neutral sweater with jeans, wearing a printed belt takes your outfit to the next level.

Around the holidays, tons of charities and organizations do a lot to help the community. Sometimes it’s as simple as preparing a meal for a family or providing a Christmas for kids that aren’t fortunate enough to have one. One charity that I wanted to bring attention to is Operation Christmas Child. I thought I’d tell you a little about what it is and what you can do!

Churches nationwide participate in this charity every year. To briefly describe what it is, the organization takes shoeboxes filled with toys and God’s Word and sends them to kids around the world such as in Africa and South America. There are a few drop off locations around the country if you want to make your own box! If these locations aren’t near you, several churches also take them and send them to the drop off locations for you! If you don’t even want to do that, you can simply pay to make one online.

The impact of these gifts are much bigger than you think. Hundreds of kids across the globe are being introduced to Jesus through these simple shoeboxes. You can watch several different stories online and listen to how lives were changed worldwide. I highly suggest you check it out!

Christmas is just days away!! Hooray! Are you all planning on feasting with family? Are you looking for the perfect drink to go along with your Christmas feast? Well I have just the thing! Introducing Christmas Day Cranberry Punch!

 Ingredients:

-          32 oz. cranberry juice

-           1 cup orange juice

-          1 cup pineapple juice 2

-           cups ginger ale/sprite

Add all of the ingredients together in a large punch bowl and voila, you have a perfect fruity, fizzy drink! If you know that you are having a lot of people over, then you can easily double the recipe to feed more people. Because the drink is a reddish color, it is totally festive! DIY Blanket Scarf

Blanket scarves are my new obsession. They are huge, chunky scarves that could literally pass as a blanket. The only problem with my obsession? Blanket scarves are mucho expensive. My favorite one from Zara is 42$! Aint nobody got money for that! So, I used my noggin and came up with a solution to my conundrum. Here is how to make your very own blanket scarf!

1. Purchase 2-2.5 yards of flannel fabric. I got mine at Joanne’s fabric store, but you can sometimes find it at Walmart or any other fabric store!


2. Using the patterned flannel edge as a guide, trim the edges of each side of your scarf.


3. Grab the loose threads on the side and pull them down gently, fraying the edges of the scarf. Keep doing this until there are no loose threads and you have a nicely frayed edge. Repeat on each side of the scarf. The frayed edges add a nice rustic flare to the scarf, but if you want a more clean cut look then leave the edges un-frayed.
