Easter Peeps S"mores

I have experimented with skillet s’mores before, and I totally love them. When I saw this recipe for Peeps s’mores in a skillet, I could not believe I had not thought of it before! Peeps are the staple Easter candy. Those little marshmallows are pure sugar and pure yum. Here is how to make chocolate peanut butter Peeps s’mores in a skillet!


Ingredients:


  • 3 cups of chocolate chips, dark or milk chocolate

  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter

  • 2 packages of Peeps marshmallows

  • Graham crackers for dipping

Grab a skillet or empty aluminum pie pan and place the chocolate chips in the bottom in an even layer. Drop spoon fulls of the peanut butter on top of the chips, then cover all of that up with the Peeps! Turn your oven’s broiler to high and place the skillet or pie pan in the oven for 1-2 minutes. Watch it carefully because the marshmallows brown quickly. Take them out when they are golden and the chocolate chips are melting. Let them cool a bit, then enjoy!


This snack is great to take to family Easter gatherings or to a friend’s house for deliciously gooey snacking.

Thank heavens for eyeshadow primer. I went out of town last weekend and forgot mine and was lost without it. Not only does primer make your shadow go on smooth and bright, it also helps it last all day long. As it turns out, eyeshadow primer doesn’t have to be used just on our eyes. It has multiple purposes that can work on other parts of our face!


  1. Under your eyes: Eyeshadow primer used under the eyes can help our concealer to stay on longer and prevents it from creasing.

  2. On your brows: Sometimes after a long day I will catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and will notice that my brow powder has smudged and my brows look “yikes.” Take a small amount of

    primer and wipe it through your brows, let it dry, and then put on your brow product. You will have perfect brows all day!

  3. On pimples: Pimples never like to stay covered up by concealer and foundation. Dabbing a bit of eye primer on top of them before concealer and foundation can ensure these spots stay covered all day!

Who knew eyeshadow primer was so versatile?

I’ve noticed a new trend coming up through the ranks and I have to say, I love it! It is the new “bandanna choker” trend. It is retro, classic, and a great way to accessorize! Plus, bandannas are super inexpensive. Here are a few of my favorite ways this trend is being styled.


  1. Mixed patterns: This is a fun and unique way to wear the trend. Mix stripes and florals and mix colors with solids for a fun fashion statement.

  2. Trendy: This pairs two trendy looks – the off-the-shoulder trend and the choker trend! This photo is from the Instagram of one of my favorite local boutiques, MOD. I love the solid paired with the print. Such a fun look!

  3. Classic: This is the easiest and most simple way to wear the trend. Pair a solid blue, black, or white shirt with a red bandanna for a fun pop of color and retro flare.

5 Tumblr-Worthy Hidden Gems around the U.S.

If you’re like me, then you love finding beautiful places to explore, especially when you didn’t even know they existed!  I always scroll through Tumblr and Instagram and find the most beautiful spots that I can add to my bucket list.  Here are five that you should add to your own “must-see” list!


  • Garden of the Gods – Colorado Springs, Colorado.  If you’ve never been, this place is amazing!  It’s filled with huge rocks and trees surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains.  If you want a good photo op, then this is the spot for you!   

  • Tamanawas Falls – Mt. Hood National Forest, Oregon.  If you want to submerge yourself in nature, visit this jaw-dropping waterfall.  It’s a big of a trek to get there, but it’s so worth it!

  • Fugitive Beach – Rolla, Missouri.  This place isn’t the most well-known in the country, but where I’m from, it’s a go-to hotspot!  People around the St. Louis area love to go there to hang with friends and even cliff jump!

  • Blue Lakes – San Juan Mountain, Colorado.  You’d never think that this blue of water actually exists in Colorado, but you’d be surprised at how vibrant the water is!  It’s so pretty and the mountains are an added perk.

  • Fort Jefferson – Key West, Florida.  Fort Jefferson is a historic landmark that’s been around for decades and is now a beautiful tourist destination!  Look at the picture to the right to see for yourself!

Spring and summer are characterized by warm temperatures, great times with friends, fun adventures with family, and again, warm temperatures. Rising temps can do a number on our beauty regimen, making our hair frizzy and our makeup drippy. Here are a few tips on how to warm-weather-proof your look this season!


  1. Avoid sweaty styling: There is nothing worse than blowdrying your hair in the spring and summer and being a sweaty mess after your hair is finished drying. I mean, you JUST got out of the shower and you are already a sweaty mess. One way to avoid this is to apply deodorant to the back of your neck a few minutes before you blow dry.

  2. Update your dry shampoo techniques: In the summer, it is actually better to apply your dry shampoo at night. Spray your roots at night so that it can absorb the oil and sweat throughout the night.

  3. Aloe vera to the rescue: It is inevitable. You are bound to get a sunburn at some point this summer! Even when you apply it meticulously, you are bound to miss a spot. In anticipation, fill up an ice cube tray with aloe vera gel and keep it in the freezer for those days when you burn crisp.

  4. Sweat stains be gone: It is embarrassing to admit, but sweat stains accompany the warm weather. Squeeze lemon juice onto the sweat stains before tossing the clothes in the laundry. The acidity in the juice will take the stains right out.

Follow these tips and your look will be totally heat-proof!

As the spring season gets underway, I am always scrambling for ideas of things to do with my free time. Spring and summer are filled with so many possibilities, and I want to make the most of every minute! The best way to ensure that you will have the best spring/summer ever is to make a bucket list and write every goal down. Here are a few activities that are totally going on my warm weather bucket list.


  1. Go to an outdoor concert: I love going to concerts, and I love the outdoors, so what could be better than an outdoor concert this season?! You’re out in the open air enjoying great music with great friends, what could be better!

  2. Weekend road trip: Take a weekend road trip with your gal pals! Bring your mommas along for a fun, refreshing weekend away, even if it is just a few hours away!

  3. Take a nature adventure: My friends and I love to go on hikes and bike rides on our local nature trails. It is a great way to strengthen your friendships AND your body at the same time!

  4. Clean that closet: Spring cleaning is a must for your closet! This can help you figure out what pieces you still need for your summer wardrobe. Organize your clothes and accessories to help you know exactly what you have.

  5. Volunteer: Volunteering is a fantastic way to both enrich your life and the lives of those around you!

If you are in a relationship or have ever been in one, you know that they are a lot of work. Happy couples have a few methods that help them, well, stay happy! These little tidbits of advice are things that I have learned and what my friends have learned through navigating the wonderful world of dating.


  1. Smile when you see them: It feels amazing to walk into the room and immediately see your crush’s face light up. It makes you feel so special! Even if you aren’t particularly thrilled to see your dude, putting a smile on your face is an easy way to show him you care! This will set a happy mood for the two of you.

  2. Randomly text them: A lot of us are busy throughout the day, so texting someone constantly just isn’t an option. But, a cute random text every once in a while can really brighten their day and them appreciate you so much.

  3. Share your day with them: Every day, take a few minutes to share your days with each other. Tell them your concerns, your goals, your hopes and your frustrations! It will really strengthen your relationship.

  4. Tell them thanks: For everything! Did they hold the door for you? Thank them. Cook you dinner? Thank them. Help you out with homework? Thank them.

  5. Complement the socks off of them: A little complement can go a long way! You know when your guy tells you he likes the way you are wearing your hair, and it makes you smile from ear to ear because you feel valued and treasured? He needs the same feeling from you! By building each other up, you are creating a happy environment!

There are so many more ways to make your relationship a happy one, you just have to be willing to work at it!

Now that we are approaching the warm weather season, one thing is clear: we have to start shaving our legs again. It is so nice to take a few days (okay weeks) off of shaving during the winter months. I am always looking for ways to cut down my shaving time/frequency, and here are the tricks that have served me well!


  1. Go against the grain: A easy trick to shave less is to shave

    against the grain of your hair. This ensures that you are getting the closest shave possible and saves you time by not having to go over the same spot twice!

  2. Exfoliate: To get a close shave every time you should exfoliate your skin often. This gets rid of the dead skin and also exposes any hairs that you may have missed.

  3. Condition: Use conditioner instead of shaving cream! Not only will it save you money, it also keeps your skin soft and healthy.

  4. Cut the carbs: The foods you eat can actually promote excess hair growth! Carbs do this. Cut back on the carbs to keep you hair from growing so you can shave less often.

Now you can have silky smooth legs all summer long!

Samoa Rice Crispy Treats

It’s Girl Scout Cookie season!! I see girls selling them everywhere, and the temptation to buy one of every flavor of cookie is real! My favorite Girl Scout Cookie has to be the Samoa. They are so gooey and crunchy at the same time. Today I am sharing a recipe for Samoa inspired rice crispy treats that are to die for!


Ingredients:

– 1/3 cup butter

– 5 cups mini marshmallows
11 oz. bag of caramels

– 2 tbs heavy whipping cream

– 1 1/2 cups coconut

– 3 cups milk chocolate chips


Melt butter in a large sauce pan over medium heat. Add in the marshmallows and stir it all together until the marshmallows are completely melted. Pour in the cereal and stir until it is completely coated. Pour this mixture into a 9×13 pan and press down evenly. In a medium sauce pan combine the caramels and cream over medium heat. Stir them until the caramel is melted and smooth. Stir the coconut into the melted caramel and pour evenly over the top of the rice crispy treats. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave, stirring until they are smooth and melted. Slice the crispy treats into bars and remove from the pan. Dip the bottom of each treat into the chocolate. Then drizzle the rest of the chocolate over the top of the bars. Let the chocolate cool and then serve!

Odds are, everyone has a jar of Vaseline under their sink right now. I was recently reading an article online about the many beauty uses of Vaseline and I was blown away! Who knew this stuff wa

s so handy? Here are my top 6 favorite beauty uses for Vaseline.


  1. Great lip balm for chapped lips. Don’t have chapstick laying around? Grab a swipe of Vaseline and rub it on your lips!

  2. Eyebrow gel. Use a small bit of Vaseline to tame your brows instead of buying expensive brow gel.

  3. Makeup remover. This stuff cuts through makeup like a champ! Take a little bit and rub it in circles on your face to work it into your makeup. Then wipe off with a paper towel or damp cloth.

  4. Keeps your perfume lasting longer. Apply Vaseline to the same areas of skin that you spray perfume before you spray it. It helps your perfume maintain it’s scent for longer!

  5. Homemade scrub: Mix Vaseline with sugar or sea salt to make a homemade exfoliant!

  6. Preps your lips for lipstick. Put some Vaseline on your lips, leave for a few minutes, then scrub your lips with a toothbrush. Rinse it off and see how soft they are!

I have also found that when I have super dry and scaly skin, I can rub some Vaseline on it and it is a great moisturizer. This stuff is so useful, so if you don’t already have a tub of it on hand I recommend grabbing some!

Why do we pray? God knows everything already, so why do we need to tell Him about our troubles or ask Him for wisdom? He is in control of all things, and knows all things. So why pray? Here are 5 great reasons to pray.


  1. We pray because we are God’s children and he loves to hear from us! (Zephaniah 3:17). Just like your dad and mom love to hear from you, God is our father and loves hearing from His children.

  2. We pray because it deepens our trust in God. (Philippians 4:6-7).

  3. We pray because it causes us to depend on God. (Isaiah 40:26).

  4. We pray because it gives us the chance to express ourselves to the Lord. (Psalms 62:8). Just like it feels good to vent about our troubles or gush about great things happening in our lives to the people we love, God loves hearing us express our ups and downs to Him.

  5. We pray because it’s an amazing way that we get to be involved with what God is already doing in our world. (1 Thessalonians 5:25). Mother Teresa said that “God shapes the world by prayer. The more praying there is in the world the better the world will be, the mightier the forces against evil.” There is a lot of evil happening in the world. Just turn on the news and that will be obvious. Our prayers help shape the world!

So when you are feeling like your prayers don’t matter, just remember these 5 reasons to pray. Your prayers are so important to God!

Exfoliation is one of the keys to clear skin. It makes your skin smooth, scrubs the dead skin off, and helps clear your pores! Today’s diy face wash is all natural and gives you all the benefits of a store bought exfoliant without the harsh chemicals. It combines baking soda (which is much less harsh on your skin than salt and sugar which are common exfoliants), coconut oil (which helps kill bacteria and decrease acne), and frankincense essential oil (which helps prevent wrinkles and regenerate healthy skin cells).


Instructions:


  • 1/3 cup baking soda

  • 5/10 drops frankincense oil

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

All you have to do is mix all of these ingredients together and store them in a container with a lid. That is it! To use it, gently rub a teaspoon or two into your skin using circular motions and then rinse off with warm water.


Exfoliation is key to healthy skin! Make this concoction part of your weekly routine to keep your skin glowing and clean.

It is almost half way through the second semester of the school year, and this is what I like to call the “mid-term slump.” It is the part of the year where you feel like you have been in school forevvver and your motivation is seriously lacking. It can even be a bit depressing. Don’t let the slump rule your life, take control! Here are a few ways to overcome it.


  1. Find what isn’t working and change it: If your grades or slipping or you feel like you are losing connection with some of your friends, make a change! Change the way you study, and change the way you stay in touch and stay close to your friends.

  2. Take care of yo-self: When your mind is in 20 different places and when you aren’t feeling motivated, it is easy to put taking care of yourself on the back burner. Don’t do that! Take care of yourself emotionally by writing in a journal or talking to a friend, and take care of yourself physically by taking a study or work break and going on a walk or working out. Keep yourself healthy and feeling good, it will help keep you out of the slump!

  3. Talk to a friend: Let them know how you are feeling. Odds are, they are feeling slump-ish too! Talking about it can help, and you can both try and come up with ways to stay motivated!

  4. Realize it will be over soon: Summer will be here before you know it, I promise. Counting down can sometimes make the time seem like it goes by slower. Quit crossing off the days and just enjoy the moment! These are some of the best days of our lives, so make them count!

Stay far from the slump, you will thank yourself in the long run!

Are they ready to be shown off in your prom gown? If you think they could use a little toning, repeat this arm workout during your regular gym time to get them ready to rock!


Repeat 3 times:


20 pushups


15 bicep curls


15 shoulder presses


20 tricep dips


15 hammer curls


10 front raises

March means St. Patrick’s Day themed everything! Clover leaves and green are everywhere, so why not celebrate with a snack for the season? Here is a treat worthy of a leprechaun!


Ingredients:


  • 5 cups of Rice Chex cereal

  • 1 bag of green candy melts

  • 1 drop of peppermint essential oil

  • 2 cups of powdered sugar

Add the rice cereal to a large mixing bowl and set that aside. Pour the green candy melts into a microwave safe bowl and melt them in the microwave at 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval until the candies are melted. Once they are melted, stir in the essential oil. Add the powdered sugar to a large Ziploc bag and set it aside. Pour the melted candy mixture into the mixing bowl and mix it with the cereal until it is covered. Pour the mixture into the Ziploc bag and shake it so the cereal is covered with powdered sugar. Pour the puppy chow onto a large baking sheet and allow it to cool. Then store it in a Ziploc bag!


This stuff wouldn’t last long around me! I’m a sucker for mint flavored sweets.

Whether you were born with dark under eye circles or just get them after a late night, chances are you rely on an under-eye concealer to keep you looking bright-eyed. I’ve tried many concealers, some great and some not so great. I want a concealer that will make me look like I got a solid 8 hours of sleep and am wide awake – even when all I want to do is take a nap. You can get a great concealer from both the drug store and from pricey makeup stores! Here are a few of my favorite concealers.


  1. IT Cosmetics: I loved this concealer when I tried it. It is waterproof, anti-aging, covers dark circles and stays put all day! It does it all.

  2. Maybelline: This concealer used to be my go-to! I used it for a few years. Its spongey applicator helps pat on the perfect amount of concealer and the formula is light and hydrating but not cakey.

  3. No7: This is Target’s concealer brand that is similar to high-end concealers but is a fraction of the price. The formula uses light perfecting particles that brighten up your under eyes.

Sometimes when we pray and ask God for things we expect him to answer our prayers right away. But, he doesn’t always answer us the way we want him to or thought he would. We can be sure, though, that God will answer our prayers in one of 3 ways:


  1. Yes: This is the answer we want to hear the most. We want God to say “yes” to the things we ask from him.

  2. Not Yet: This is probably the hardest answer to hear. It is hard to be patient and wait for things that you want to happen. But, as you have probably heard a million times, good things come to those who wait.

  3. I have something better in mind: In this situation, God asks us to let go of what we think is best and open our hearts for what he has in store for us. This can be painful, to let something go that we have wanted so badly, but it is a comfort to know that God has something even better in mind for you!

When you pray and ask God for things, keep these answers in mind. God may not answer you in the way you wanted him to or in the time frame that you were hoping for, but His ways are better than our ways!

The 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards were just the other day and you know what that means: a red carpet full of all the hottest trends and styles of the season!  Celebrities such as Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, and the members of Fifth Harmony all rocked the red carpet this year.  Here are a few noticeable trends that are some of the hottest looks this season!


  • Metallic.  Metallic is a trend that comes and goes in waves.  Chelsea Crockett - Demi LovatoWell the wave is in, and metallic is back in full swing!  The picture on the right shows singer Demi Lovato rocking a metallic dress, jacket, and shoes on the red carpet. 

  • Jumpsuits.  Jumpsuits are super comfy and can be dressed up depending on the style of them.  Most of the jumpsuits on the red carpet were dressed up for the event, but you can find one that’s much more casual but just as stylish!

  • Neutral colors.  There wasn’t a lot of color to be seen on the carpet this year.  There were some pastels or dark tones here and there, but black, white, and other neutral colors made up the majority of the celebs’ looks!

  • Anything but dresses.  Wait, what?  I thought award shows called for the prettiest gowns and dresses?  Usually that’s the case, but this year most celebs rocked jumpsuits, rompers, or pants and a stylish shirt.

Coconut oil is the Jack of all trades. It can literally do EVERYTHING! You can cook with it, use it for household cleaning, bake with it, and even use it in your beauty routine! After reading this article you are going to want to run to the store and grab you a jar, I guarantee it.


  1. Moisturizer: I keep a jar of coconut oil by my sink and use it as lotion for my face and body when I get out of the shower.

  2. Makeup remover: Like I said above, I keep a jar of the oil by my sink. At the end of the day, I just scrape a little out of the jar and rub it on my eyelids and under my eyes, and use a tissue to wipe my makeup off. It works sooooo well, and it doesn’t irritate my eyes like other makeup removers!

  3. Shaving cream: Slather some coconut oil on your legs as shaving cream! It will melt right on your skin, and it will leave your legs feeling ultra smooth afterwards.

  4. Toothpaste: Yup, this is even good to use to clean your teeth! There are tons of DIY coconut oil toothpastes out there, and it is much better for your body than store bought toothpaste.

All-natural is the way to go! Plus, when you use coconut oil in your beauty routine, you end up smelling slightly like coconut, which reminds me of the beach, so that is always a plus!

I am always amazed at women who can walk effortlessly in heels. Like, they just glide across the floor like they aren’t wearing 6 inch spikes on their feet. How do they do that?! With prom just around the corner for my high school friends, I see lots of high-heel-wearing in my friends futures, and I wear heels every once in a while, so I thought it would be good for all of us to take a crash course in how to walk in heels.


  1. Start small: 6 inch heels are not a beginners dose of heel! Start with something small and then work your way up. This is the key to learning how to walk in heels, start with something that is easy and it will become natural to you.

  2. Make sure the shoe fits perfectly: It is a million times easier to walk in heels when they actually fit. If they are too small, your toes get smushed every time you take a step, and if they are too big your heel slips out every time you lift your foot off of the ground. Both are not good! You could seriously injure your toes or twist your ankle. If your shoe fits but you are still having a tough time keeping it on, there are heel grips you can buy to help you out!

  3. Place your heel on the ground first: Heels force you to walk differently. When you wear heels, make sure you put your heel on the ground first before the pad of your foot, so walk heel to toe. Walking like you normally would, by just simply placing your whole foot flat on the ground, is uncomfortable and awkward in heels!

  4. Small steps: You need to take smaller steps when you wear heels. Walking your normal stride is not going to be easy in them, and it will probably feel a bit awkward. Take small, lady-like steps, don’t try to power walk, and practice in the mirror to see what looks best!

  5. Don’t push it: If walking in heels is painful for you, or if you just don’t like it, don’t do it! Don’t feel like you have to wear heels to look “like a lady”, if they hurt you or if they just aren’t your thing, there are plenty of other shoe types that look just as good!

How often do you step back and give yourself some “me” time?  Don’t get me wrong, I love being with my friends and fam, but sometimes it feels good to be independent and spend some time with numero uno. Time alone is a great way to reconnect with yourself, de-stress, and feel refreshed. Here are 5 fun things you can do on your own to treat yo self!


  1. Take yourself on a date: Is there a restaurant where you live that you have always wanted to go to eat but have never gotten the chance? Take yourself! Treat yourself to a nice meal, take as long as you want, order whatever you want, you don’t have anyone to worry about or impress! Bring a good book and enjoy yourself.

  2. Take a loooong bath: Grab a good book, light a few candles, grab some bubble bath and a bath bomb, and hop in the tub. Take the longest bath you want and enjoy uninterrupted bliss.

  3. Lose yourself in a bookstore: There are so many cute bookstores out there, small ones with lots of personality or big ones with lots of choices! Get lost in the shelves and find a book that you love.

  4. Have a spa day: Go get a massage, or save some cash and do an at-home spa day. Grab a face mask and hair mask from Walmart and pamper yourself DIY style.

  5. Complete projects you’ve put off: Speaking of DIY, finish those projects you’ve been putting off so that you don’t have to worry about them anymore. Whether it is finishing homework, updating your resume, finishing a DIY craft, whatever it may be, finish it! You will feel accomplished and productive, plus you reap the benefits of the finished project!

Treat yo-self to some “me” time every once in a while. It is good for the soul!

We all get the munchies, when we just need something sweet to sink our teeth into! I have been trying my best to eat healthy, as I am sure a lot of us are. Lucky for us I found a delish recipe for healthy cookies that you can feel good about eating! And with only 3 ingredients they are so easy to make!


Ingredients:


  • 2 ripe bananas

  • 1 cup quick oats

  • Handfull of rasins (or chocolate chips)

Mash 2 ripe bananas in a bowl. Then mix in the oats and rasins or chocolate chips. Line a baking sheet with foil and place small balls of the batter on the sheet. Bake the cookies for 15 minute or so at 350 degrees.  These are so easy to make and you probably have these ingredients on hand!


If you want you can add a little bit of cinnamon or vanilla to sweeten them up before you bake them go for it! These are easy and fun to modify.

As we grow up, we spend more and more time in a certain place…can you guess what it is? If you guessed work, then you guessed right. Because we spend so much time at our places of employment, whether we work from home or in an office, it is so important that we devote our work to the Lord. Our job is one of the ways that He provides for us and it is also a way to show you have a generous heart. God grows our character and our faith as we rely on him for strength to do our job. Here are 3 prayers to lift up to the Lord about your work.


  1. Thank the Lord that you can do all things through Him who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13).

  2. Ask God to help you be content in life and not desire money and possessions and not to want what others have, and ask Him to give you the desire to work hard for what you earn. (1 Thessalonians 41:11-12)

  3. Pray that you will be faithful and wise with your work responsibilities, whether they are big or small. Pray that God would help you be honest, even when it is hard to be. (Luke 16:10-13)

Lastly, pray that God would use you where you work to help show people His love! God has provided you the job that you have for a purpose and for a reason!

I love working out at the gym, but sometimes you just don’t want to leave your house to get your cardio in. Plus, running on a treadmill or even outside can get boring. Here is a great running substitute that you can do from your living room!


  • 1 minute jogging

  • 1 minute mountian climbers

  • 1 minute jump rope

  • 1 minute jumping jacks

  • 1 minute ski jumps

  • 1 minute power skips

  • 1 minute front kicks

  • 1 minute high knees

  • 1 minute squats

  • 1 minute butt kicks

If you don’t know how to some of these moves, google them! This workout is great because it goes by so quick. It never gets boring because every minute the move changes!

St. Patrick’s Day is only a couple weeks away, and I don’t know about you but I think it’s such a fun holiday to celebrate!  This year, I’ve looked up different festive recipes and so many of them make the use of Lucky Charms.  They’re so creative and yummy!  Here are a few Lucky Charms snacks and treats that make celebrating St. Patty’s Day ten times better.


  • Lucky Charms Dirt Cake.  Chelsea Crockett - Lucky Charms CupcakeIf you’ve had dirt cake, then you know just how good it is.  All you need to make is vanilla pudding and add food coloring to make it green.  Then, in a large glass bowl, fill in a layer of pudding, whip cream, then lucky charms… and repeat! It looks and tastes great!

  • Lucky Charms Cupcakes.  This recipe is extremely simple!  Just make a fresh batch of cupcakes, ice them, and finish them off with some Lucky Charms like the picture on the right!  You can make different designs out of all the different marshmallows!

  • Green Lucky Charms Pancakes.  When I was little, my mom would always make me a full green breakfast for St. Patrick’s Day.  If you want green pancakes, put food coloring in the batter.  Add some whip cream to the top followed by a sprinkle of Lucky Charms!  They’re perfect for the occasion! :)

I have had a serious sweet tooth recently. One of my favorite sweet treats is a warm muffin and a glass of milk! A great way to enjoy the yummy muffin taste but not all of the not-so-sweet calories is to make energy bites that taste like muffins. The fact that I can eat a snack that both gives me healthy energy plus tastes like lemon poppy seed muffins is too sweet for words.


Ingredients:


  • 3 scoops plant-based vanilla protein powder

  • ½ cup old fashioned oats

  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

  • ½ tablespoon granulated sweetener

  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest

  • 6 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 6 tablespoons water

In a large bowl, combine the lemon zest, sweetener, poppy seeds, oats, and protein powder. Add in the lemon juice and water and stir until it is mixed well. Use your hands to make balls out of the dough, it will make about 28 small balls. Place them into a plastic container with a lid and seal and store them in the refrigerator until you are ready to chow down.


These are a great post-workout sweet treat or a perfect snack to take on the go! Just pop a few into a baggie and stick them in your purse for later. These are so yummy and easy!

I love going to the gym. It helps me calm my mind and makes me feel healthy and strong. The only downfall of visiting the gym is that I seem to break out after I go. I looked up why this was the case, and it was because I wasn’t treating my skin the way I should! After we workout, our pores are wide open which means that they are open to bacteria and makeup residue. Your skin is super vulnerable after a visit to the gym. Here are a few ways that I found to keep your skin healthy after hitting the gym or the trail.


  1. Make sure your makeup is gone before you work out. Use a makeup wipe to quickly and easily clear your skin. Do this so that your sweat can filter out of your pores freely instead of getting trapped by your makeup.

  2. Use skin products that don’t irritate. Using a harsh cleanser after you workout is not doing your skin any favors! Spray a facial toner on your skin post-workout to soothe and calm your skin.

  3. If you can’t get to a shower, use healthy ingredients to wash your face. Makeup wipes with natural cleansers like lavender are a great and handy way to quickly and easily get your skin clean of sweat and build-up after a workout.

  4. Keep your skin care kit on hand. If you workout before work or school, or you typically have to go somewhere other than home after a workout, keep your skincare essentials in a small travel bag. This is a great way to make sure that you get your skin cleansed before going anywhere, plus it will make you feel refreshed when you are on the go.

Keeping your skin clean is the key to kicking breakouts to the curb!
