Life Lessons from Isaiah 58:11

Life Lessons from Isaiah 58:11
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsea-crockett-life-lessons-from-isaiah-58-111.jpg

“Where God guides, He provides.” This is the message of Isaiah 58:11. I love this verse for many reasons. I love it because of the simplicity of the message, but also the hope it brings. Where God leads you, He will support you.isaiah

As many of you know from watching my “life update” video, I am home from college. I felt that this is where God was guiding me. It wasn’t an easy decision, but it is what I felt I was being led to do. I had to trust that where God guided me, he would provide me everything I needed. And He has! He has used this time to draw me closer to Him and to really dig deeper into my Faith. He has provided me with the support I need. If/when God guides you to try new things or go new places, listen to His call and follow it. He will provide you with everything you need. He won’t leave you or forsake you. And you will be so blessed by it!

Where God guides, He provides.

Models Best Skincare Secrets!

Models Best Skincare Secrets!
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Chelsea-Crockett-Models-Skincare-Secrets.jpg

Supermodels are known for their image.  Whether it be their silky hair or “perfect” teeth, there are certain things that everyone thinks of when they hear the word “model.”  One of the first characteristics that pops into my head is their extremely clear skin!  A few models have opened up to share their simple, everyday skincare tips that you can use to your benefit!Chelsea Crockett - Gigi Hadid Skin

  • It is absolutely necessary to have a daily skincare routine set in place! Your routine should include washing your face when you wake up and before you go to sleep at night.  Hold yourself to it!

  • Focus just as much on what goes in your body as to what goes on it. Watch your diet!  You don’t need to solely restrict your diet to healthy food, but monitoring the amount of junk you have every day doesn’t hurt!  Cutting down on foods high in fat and drinking lots of water will help more than you think.

  • Secret beauty tip: steam. Exposing yourself to steam such as a sauna, DIY steam facial etc., will help open up your pores.  They can get very clogged after days and days of wearing makeup even though you wash your face.

  • Don’t underestimate the power of toothpaste. Everyone knows the trick to get rid of pimples quickly.  Apply toothpaste to your pimple to dry it out and reduce inflammation!

Try these out and watch your skin change for the better!

Old Fashioned Dating Advice

Old Fashioned Dating Advice
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Chelsea-Crockett-Old-Fashioned-Dating-Advice.jpg

If we compare dating nowadays to how it used to be, there are too many differences to count.  In our society, “talking” is the new dating.  Even marriage rates have dramatically decreased since decades ago!  There are so many dating pointers we could learn from couples that have been together for years.  Here are some old fashioned dating tips that should be put into action today!

  • Put down the phone!  That might sound lChelsea Crockett - Date Listike something your mom tells you but trust me, it’s so refreshing!  Putting your phone down during dinner with your boyfriend or girlfriend is so much nicer than watching each other stare at your screens.

  • Talk face to face.  Talking out your problems in person instead of over the phone or through text solves things much easier.  Technology is great, but being able to talk about touchy subjects face to face will make you much more comfortable in your relationship.

  • Go on real dates.  This doesn’t have to be every weekend!  Picking a night once a month or even a couple nights is a good way to keep your relationship fun and a priority!  You can even make a list like the one on the right.

  • Meet each other’s parents.  Meeting the fam is a good way to show you’re serious about each other!  It also shows your polite and committed to your relationship.

  • Commit, commit, commit.  I can’t stress this enough!  If you’re in a relationship with someone, devote yourself to them and only them.

If you follow these steps, they might help you better your relationship and make it last much longer!

Mineral Foundation: What’s the Difference?

Mineral Foundation: What’s the Difference?
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Chelsea-Crockett-Mineral-Foundation.jpg

Mineral makeup may be something you’ve never heard of before, or it may be something you use every day!  I’ve never really known the difference between normal makeup and mineral makeup, but I came to find out that it actually has a lot of benefits, especially using mineral foundation on your skin.  Here’s a little insight on what mineral foundation is and which ones I recommend!Chelsea Crockett - NYX Mineral Foundation

Some foundations feel extremely heavy on your skin throughout the day.  Although you may only put a little on, it can feel like it’s caked on and clogging your pores!  Mineral foundation feels much lighter on your skin and lets your pores breathe a little more than normal formulas.  It’s known for making your skin feel soft and natural.  If you have sensitive skin, you might want to give it a try!  Most of these formulas leave out any unwanted ingredients such as chemical dyes, fragrances, etc.

As far as which mineral foundations are the best, there are a few I highly recommend!  NYX Cosmetic’s Stick Mineral Foundation is easy to apply since you don’t need a brush or beauty blender.  Plus, you can apply it anywhere at any time!  If you’re more into powders, L’Oréal Paris True Match Naturale Mineral Foundation gives you a smooth complexion along with SPF protection!

Do you use mineral makeup?  Let me know your take on it in the comments below!

How To Get Back Into a Workout Routine

How To Get Back Into a Workout Routine
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/download-1.jpg

Trust me, I know how it feels to have zero time/motivation to work out. I have just recently started getting back into running and I try to do that as many days of the week that I can. It can be easy to talk myself out of going on a run though, and I have been looking for ways to avoid talking myself out if it and ways to stay in my routine. Here are my tips on how to bet back into a fitness routine and stay motivated!

  1. Lay your workout clothes in plain sight: In the morning, lay your workout clothes in a place that you will see them the most so they continually remind you that you need to put them on and hit the trail or go to the gym. You could even pack a gym bag in the morning so that you have it all ready to go after school!b07aeb4fb52774806ebcdfa3d3a3e03c

  2. Take a challenge: Start a “couch to 5k” or “30 day abs” challenge! Having a challenge makes you more likely to stick to it and will make you want to complete it!

  3. Break your workouts up: If you are running, set goals. For instance, look ahead and pick a landmark, tell yourself to keep going until you reach it, and then once you do set another goal. It will distract you and keep you going! If you are working out in the gym, say that you will do 10 or 15 more sit-ups and then you will be done. Simple breakdowns like that make all the difference!

  4. Bring a buddy: Grab a friend that wants to get in shape or a friend that will motivate you and take them on a run or to the gym with you. You will have someone to push you, someone to talk to, and someone to say “hey, get out of bed, let’s go to the gym!”

Getting back into a fitness routine can be rough. Your body takes a while to get used to it, and it is mentally tough too. I know you can do it, you got this!! Keep that winter layer of fluff away! I am going to have to work at it too, so we can work at it together!

XOXO, Chels

How to Transition Your Makeup From Summer to Fall

How to Transition Your Makeup From Summer to Fall
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsea-crockett-how-to-Transition-Your-Makeup-From-Summer-to-Fall.jpg

Now is the time to take your makeup routine from soft and dewy to matte and rich. Summer makeup is all about soft tones, sheer coverage and natural vibes. Fall is about rich hues, smoky eyes and trendy tones. I’ll fill you in on how to transition your makeup routine from summer to fall! All it takes is a few minor switches.

  1. Start with the lips. During the summer I love wearing pink and coral colored lip shades. This fall opt for sheer, translucent stains of plum or burgundy. Last year’simages lip trend was opaque oxblood, but this year it is a little more subdued. There is also a trend of wearing unique lip shades such as navy, but I don’t know if I am ready to tackle that one!

  2. Next follow up with the eyes. Trade out neutral shadows with this year’s hottest eye trend: crimson. Create a smoky eye with crimson and russet tones.

  3. Figure out the finish. Summer makeup is dewy and makes your face glow, where as usual fall foundation has a matte finish. This year, avoid the “flat” look by using foundations and powders that allow your natural complexion to show through.

  4. Make your moisturizer count. In the summer you sweat a lot and the humidity keeps your skin moist. Cooler times call for different measures. Cold temps dry out your skin, so use creamy cleansers and moisturizers to make sure your face gets the moisture it needs! No one likes flaky skin on their face.

The transition from summer to fall makeup is completely painless! Easy peasy.

Outfits For When You Feel Like You Have Nothing to Wear

Outfits For When You Feel Like You Have Nothing to Wear
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsesa-crockett-Outfits-For-When-You-Feel-Like-You-Have-Nothing-to-Wear.jpg

One of the best things about shopping is finding an item that makes you feel so confident and that you totally love. The bad thing about it is that after a little while, that same item of clothing can become “meh” to you. It doesn’t matter how much you loved the item when you bought it, it is inevitable that over time it will lose its appeal. We all know the feeling of looking into our closet and thinking “I have NOTHING to wear…!”, and it isn’t that we literally have nothing to wear, it is that we got bored with our options. When that feeling hits, it is good to have a few go-to outfits to turn to when everything else feels “blah.” Here are a few no-fail looks for when this happens!

  1. White on white: I love to play with color in my outfits, but sometimes going bold isn’t what you are feeling. Opt for an all-white outfit if you are feeling like you are out of options. It is a nice alternative to all-black, and you are totally okay to toss the “no white after labor day” rule out the door. Some good white combos are white skinny jeans with an over-sized white or cream sweater, or the always-trendy skinny jeans and a white tee.8233211788949221_awdrklyr_f

  2. Rolled jeans and booties: This is a great fall outfit. Cuff the hem of your favorite jeans paired with low-heal booties and wear an oxford shirt, sweater, or create a layered look with a vest or cardigan. This is an effortlessly casual and easy look to toss together.

  3. Skinny jeans and a textured shirt: This look is all about contrast. Jeans may feel too casual for certain settings, but if you pair them with a dressier shirt or blouse with texture like ruffles or fringe then your jeans will automatically look more dressed-up. You could even pair a silk blouse with a nice pair of jeans and booties for a dressier ensemble. Jeans can easily be dressed up or down.

Another quick fix for the “I have nothing to wear” blues is to look up outfit inspiration on Pinterest and focus on photos of people wearing items that you have in your closet. This will help give you ideas on new ways to wear and pair the clothes you already have!

Benefits of Mineral Makeup

Benefits of Mineral Makeup
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsea-crockett-benefits-of-mineral-makeup.jpg

I have been aware of mineral makeup for a while, and I had heard it was so good for your skin, but I never really looked into it. But, recently a dermatologist told me that the reason I am having trouble getting rid of some of my pesky acne is because of the foundation I use! A lot of times drugstore foundations contain dyes and perfumes and can foster bacteria. Here is why you should make the switch to mineral makeup!4-in-1-pressed-mineral-makeup-porcelain-open

Mineral makeup is composed of inorganic minerals and is oil free so it doesn’t promote bacteria growth- Hooray! If you have acne prone skin then this is very important. It is also great for people with sensitive skin because it does not contain harsh perfumes or dyes like I mentioned above. Mineral makeup contains zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, which are both natural sunscreens that provide sun protection against those harsh rays. Another cool aspect is that titanium dioxide has a high light refraction index, which means it reflects light, even higher than that of a diamond! This helps reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and even gives you a glow!

Mineral makeup also offers you great coverage, a natural finish, and a smooth appearance! Although it is a little more expensive than your traditional foundation and powder I think that it is worth it. Think of all the money you could save on acne medicines!

I love the look, feel and finish that mineral makeup gives me. I give it a perfect 10!

DIY Healthy Pumpkin Coffee Creamer

DIY Healthy Pumpkin Coffee Creamer
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsea-crockett-DIY-Healthy-Pumpkin-Coffee-Creamer.jpg

Pumpkin spice lattes are all the rage this time of year. I mean, it can be 85 degrees outside and girls will still be sipping on them. I love buying pumpkin flavored coffee creamer, but what I don’t love is what I see on the ingredients label. Store bought coffee creamer is packed with preservatives and chemicals, things our bodies do NOT need. Luckily, there is a way to make homemade pumpkin coffee creamer that is non-dairy and guilt-free! Your body AND your taste buds will love this recipe.

Ingredients:desktop-diy_pumpkin_pie_spice_coffee_creamer

  • 2 cups of original almond milk or soy milk

  • 2 tbsp canned or fresh mashed pumpkin, NOT pumpkin pie filling

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or agave

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/3 tsp nutmeg

  • 1/3 tsp ground ginger

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

If you want you can substitute the cinnamon, nutmeg, and ground ginger for “pumpkin pie spice” store bought spice. Whisk all of the ingredients except the vanilla together in a saucepan over medium/high heat. Heat until it is steaming but not boiling. Whisk in the vanilla and let the mixture cool. Pour it into a jar, shake it, and then store it in the fridge. It is literally that easy to make your own coffee creamer!

I cannot wait to try this, I plan on making my own coffee creamer concoctions more often!

Watches For Your Wardrobe

Watches For Your Wardrobe
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsea-crockett-watches-for-your-wardrobe.jpg

Watches are a classic statement piece. They add a timeless touch to any outfit, plus, they make sure you are on time! 😉  They are also stack-able, meaning you can wear other bracelets with them and stack them to create a more interesting, layered look. Today we will discuss the 3 watches every girl needs in her wardrobe. Each is unique and adds its own special flare to any outfit it accents! Plus these can be worn year round because they are so versatile.

  1. The classic: Every girl needs one watch that goes with evvvverything. These watches can be worn to school,watch-2 to work, and then out with friends even when you have changed your outfit 3 different times! It is versatile and classic. I love watches with leather bands because they look classy and match virtually anything.

  2. The statement: A statement watch can be the focal point of your whole outfit! I love watches that have cool faces, like watches with maps or glitter as their face.

  3. The unique: If you want to add dimension to your outfit, you need a wraparound watch. The strap wraps around your wrist a few times which gives it a unique look. I love this look because it is a little edgy! I would wear it with an over-sized neutral sweater or a military jacket and some ripped up black skinny jeans.

What kind of watches make up YOUR wardrobe? Comment below which one of these three is your fav!

XOXO, Chels

College Game Day Attire

College Game Day Attire
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Chelsea-Crockett-College-Game-Day.jpg

One of my favorite things about high school was going all out for our Friday night football games.  Some of my best memories of my four years were made at our school’s stadium cheering on the team!  Chelsea Crockett - Game Day OutfitWith college, the football game days only get bigger and better, especially if you go to a big school.  Here is a little guide I put together if you need some help picking out an outfit for your next game day!

One of my favorite things that I’ve seen girls wear on game day is oversized jerseys.  I know some schools sell them in a dress style to pair with accessories and booties!  If your jersey isn’t long enough to style as a dress, rock it with a ripped pair of white jeans like the picture on the left.  You can also determine how casual you want to be by wearing wedged booties or a pair of sneakers!

Incorporating your team’s colors into your outfit is obviously a must.  Although some colleges dress up more than others, you can always accessorize using colored necklaces, hats, etc.  Since suede is big this fall, pairing an off-the-shoulder shirt with a button- up suede skirt is so cute!  Another piece of clothing you can pair your outfit with is a flannel in your school’s colors.  You can either substitute it for a jacket or tie it around your waste!

I hope you enjoy this year’s football season!

Tips for Online Shopping the Right Way

Tips for Online Shopping the Right Way
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Chelsea-Crockett-Online-Shopping.jpg

Online shopping is both a blessing and a curse.  Having the ability to buy anything and everything at the click of a button can be scary (especially for my bank account!).  There are certain things you can do to online shop the smart way, by finding deals and discounts!  Here are a few tips that my wallet can thank me for.

  • Most of the time, you can sign up for an online account and receive discounts right off the bat!  It’s super simple and usually saves you over 20% off your purchase.Chelsea Crockett - Online Shopping Meme

  • If you have a smartphone, download the store’s app to your phone.  You can usually turn on notifications for sales and discounts!

  • Keep an eye out for marked off items on the website.  Just like a sale rack in the store, there will be sections online with discounted clothing.  Just because you’re not in the store doesn’t mean you can’t snag a good deal!

  • Read the reviews.  A lot of times, websites with really cheap clothing can either be an awesome steal or a waste of money.  Read what other people have to say about the brand or company to make sure it’s legit!

  • Don’t forget that coupons and gift cards work just the same as in stores!  You can usually find somewhere on the website before you check out that lets you redeem the code found on your card.

What online shopping tips do you follow?  I’m always in need of some shopping tips! :)

Easy Money Hacks for College Students

Easy Money Hacks for College Students
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Chelsea-Crockett-College-Debt.jpg

Let’s face it, college is expensive!  Unless you’re a genius or a star athlete, odds are a big chunk of money will be spent on your college education.  You may be drowning in student loans and tuition fees but you’re in luck!  There are certain tips you can follow that help you cut back on small payments and fees that will surely add up over the years!

  • Rent textbooks and leave them unopened if you can.  Some professors will make you purchase a book that you’ll end up not even using.  In some cases, you can return your unused books at the end of the semester to get your money back!  Chelsea Crockett - College Spending

  • Take advantage of your meal plan!  At most schools, your meals are prepaid for.  It might be tempting to eat at other places around campus but using up your meal plans is the smartest thing to do!

  • Only take your car if absolutely necessary.  Parking can be expensive!  Talk with your roommate/suitemates and see if they’re bringing a car.  That way you can always catch rides if you need to go somewhere!

  • If you’re in a sorority, it can be tempting to buy a ton of t-shirts and other sorority things.  Practice self-control and only purchase the mandatory ones or if you’re absolutely in love with the shirt! 🙂

  • If you get tired of your wardrobe, pick out some things that you’re tired of and have a clothing swap with your friends!  I’m sure they’re feeling the same way and would like to save some money and get new clothes at the same time as well!

If you’re a college student, which hacks do you use?  Let me know!

How to Color Your Cold-Weather Wardrobe

How to Color Your Cold-Weather Wardrobe
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsea-crockett-cold-weather-wardrobe.jpg

Usually when I think of cold weather fashion I think of shades like white, grey, brown and black and muted, darker tones. After the fall colors fade away and the winter the skies are gray, and if you don’t like the cold, your mood is gray as well! One way to drown out the late fall/winter blues is to add color to youimagesr wardrobe. Here are a few ways to add colors back into your ensembles.

  1. Coats: Who says coats have to be neutral colors all of the time? Not me! I love to wear a statement coat, such as my red pea coat, to work some color back into my outfits!

  2. Scarves: Scarves are a great way to spice up your outfit. Wear a statement scarf with a solid shirt to add some dimension.

  3. Hats: I love wearing hats in the fall and winter, and if you follow me on Instagram you totally know what I am talking about! They are a great way to stay warm and look cute at the same time.

  4. Handbags: By adding in a colored handbag to your outfit you can effortlessly slide in some color.

  5. Sweaters: Colored sweaters… a total yes! I have a coral colored sweater that I just love, and I wear it with dark jeans and riding boots for an easy, comfy chilly weather outfit!

How are YOU adding color into your cold-weather wardrobe?

How To (Happily) Travel With Friends

How To (Happily) Travel With Friends
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsesa-crockett-travel-with-friends.jpg

Traveling with friends can be fun! Heck, me and the ChelseaCrockett.com team took a trip to LA last year and had a blast! And I took a trip to Florida this past summer with a few of my closest gal pals. But, traveling with friends isn’t always a walk in the park. Face it, even your closest BFF can sometimes drive you batty. Here are a few tips on how to stay sane when traveling with friends!fullsizerender-56

  1. Pick wisely: Be smart when picking a travel companion. Pick a friend (or friends) who you really get along with and who you genuinely like spending time with. A bad pick can end in an even worse trip!

  2. Communicate: Before the trip gets underway, talk to each other about what you want to get out of the trip that way no one ends up disappointed or feels left out. You want to make sure you all have the best time ever!

  3. Be considerate: Make sure you keep an eye on how your friend is doing aka their mood. You want to make sure you are both energized and happy to explore! If they are feeling tired or fatigued, be sensitive to that and let them rest up before going on more adventures.

From short road trips to week-long getaways, any type of trip with a friend is a good one! The memories you make together will last a lifetime.

Fall 2016 Hair Color Trends

Fall 2016 Hair Color Trends
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsea-crockett-fall-2016-hair-color-trends.jpg

You have spent all summer growing your luscious locks out into mermaid waves, and now that fall is here, you may feel like you need a change but don’t want to give your locks a major chop. One way to do that is to change your hair’s color! Fall is a great time to a new color on your strands because you won’t have to worry about the sun changing or altering the color. Here are the hottest hair color trends this fall.

  • Cool brunette: If you have olive or cooler skin tone then this shade is perfect for you! This color is a great transition from your sun-bleached hair to a darker more “fall” look.

  • Wheat blond: This is a more natural neutral blond that includes tones of gold and beige. This hue looks good on pretty much anyone! It is a soft look due to the subtle highlights, so if you like subtle, this is a great look!

  • Exposed roots: This look is so in! It is pretty much letting your natural roots show in the most chic way possible. It takes the edge off of your roots and blends them in. This look is for everyone! It really just depends on your taste and how much or how little you want your roots to be showing. This is also an easy way to transition if you want to leave more time in between touch-ups.

  • Bronde: This trend is here to stay! It is a nice happy medium between blonde and brunette… just right! This color works best for light brown to dark brown hair types and people with warm skin tones.

If you are looking to spice up your look this fall, experimenting with hair color is a good place to start!

"I am the Lord that heals you." Exodus 15:26

"I am the Lord that heals you." Exodus 15:26
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsea-crockett-Exodus-15-26.jpg

We all have tough times. We all have pain that we think won’t end, and sadness that seems to take over every other emotion. When life sends you into a deep dark pit, know that God will be there with a ladder to help you climb up and out. How do I know this? His word tells us in Exodus 15:26 that “I am the Lord that heals you.”ephesians

If you have watched my “life update” video on YouTube then you know there is a lot going on in my life right now, and the main thing that has kept me going is the knowledge that God has a reason for this season, and He will heal my heart in His time. Life is hard. We all know that, but even though we know it, we aren’t always prepared for when it bares its teeth. It always seems to do so at the worst time and when you least expect it.

Whether you are suffering from an illness, depression, anxiety, or even a broken heart, we can find comfort in knowing that nothing lasts forever and that the pain is temporary. This dark time cannot compare to the joy that is in store for you in this life! Keep hanging on. You are an overcomer.

Why You May Be Feeling More Forgetful

Why You May Be Feeling More Forgetful
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/57762194.jpg

Lately I have been feeling more and more forgetful and I was having a hard time figuring out why. We all have spacey moments, but if you have been feeling more forgetful than normal then something may be up with your health. Here are a few reasons that you may be feeling a bit more forgetful than normal.

  1. Lack of sleep: Sleep is vital for y

our brain to recharge and store 91d7edc25a31b801b7c93f6fd7ce87f7memories. Lack of sleep worsens your ability to focus and learn, and sleep is necessary for storing memories so you can recall them in the future!

  2. More stress: When you are stressed or have anxiety your brain can become overloaded and discombobulated.

  3. High hypoglycemic foods: What you eat impacts your memory. Sugary foods cause a rapid spike and drop in blood sugar, and this negatively impacts memory. Foods like this are refined grains and sugary foods.

  4. Posture: We look down at our phones way too much. We carry a lot of tension in our head, neck, spinal cord, and brain. This effects our neurotransmitters which effect memory!

If you feel like you have been frequently forgetful, then one of these things could be the issue!

Fitness Quotes to Keep You Motivated

Fitness Quotes to Keep You Motivated
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsea-crockett-fitness-quotes-to-keep-you-motivated.jpg

Lately, I have started getting back into my workout grind. It wasn’t easy getting motivated, though. Yes, wanting to be healthy and fit is great motivation, but sometimes you just need a little bit of a push to really get back into the swing of things. I have actually found that keeping motivational workout quotes around has, well, kept me motivated! On days when you think about skipping your workout, seeing a motivational quote can really make you want to get up and go work out. I know it sounds silly, but it is totally true and seriously works. Here are a few of my favorite motivational quotes that I found at Elite Daily.

  • Loving your body means taking care of it!

1

  • Getting stronger takes time, but it is so worth it!

2

  • Loving yourself is one of the healthiest things you can do.

3

  • This winter, keep your workout routine up, don’t fall behind! It is so much easier to stay in shape than to try and get back in shape once you’ve stopped working out.

4

  • It doesn’t matter how slow you go, you’re still ahead of everyone who isn’t working out!
    5

Keep these motivational quotes close by if you are in need of some, well, motivation! They will make you want to tie up your running shoes and hit the trails or head to the gym.

Fall Peplum Style

Fall Peplum Style
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsea-crockett-fall-peplum-style.jpg

When you think of peplum style tops, you probably think of summer and spring because they are flowy and light. But, fall is also a great time for peplum tops. Here are my favorite ways to style these fun, cute tops during the cold fall weather!

  1. Cozy and casual: I love cozy tops like this. They are tight at the top and then flare out at the bottom, so they show your curves while still being loose and cozy. You can wear this cozy top with jeans or leggings for a comfy cold-weather outfit.ec18ed85cf1bd9e031c7a424fbcf8633

  2. Pretty and plaid: Fall is all about plaid! I love the combo of plaid and peplum because it is a more feminine flare on your typical plaid button-up shirt. Paired with some dark jeans and nude booties, it is the perfect fall outfit! Id wear this anywhere from the pumplin patch to out to a casual dinner out.

  3. Whistful and fun: This is a more trendy look at your fall peplum style! Bell-sleve shirts are really in, and this sort of shirt is “hippie-chic.” I love how it is paired with lace-up flats and distressed skinny jeans. I think this is a great everyday look for the fashion lover in all of us!

Have fun playing up your feminie side with peplum shirts this fall!

XOXO, Chels

Fall Guide to Pairing Jeans and Boots

Fall Guide to Pairing Jeans and Boots
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsea-crockett-fall-guide-to-pairing-jeans-with-boots.jpg

Okay ladies, do you ever pull on a pair of jeans in the fullsizerender-54morning and then stare at your shoes thinking “What kind of boots do I wear with these?!” because, lets face it, finding the right kind of boots for each style of jeans can be quite a task. Are booties best? Riding boots? Over-the-Knee boots? Wedges? So many options! I came up with a handy dandy cheat sheet to help guide you in your pairing.

  1. Skinny jeans: If you are keeping it casual, knee-high boots like riding boots are best for these jeans. If you are getting a little more dressy, try wedges or short stylish booties.

  2. Boyfriend jeans: These jeans are so fun to wear. Simple short booties work great with these for a simple but stylish ensemble.

  3. Flared jeans: These jeans are super slimming. If you are keeping it casual, wear a pair of suede wedge booties. This look is a little bit retro and a whole lot cute.

  4. Boot cut jeans: If you are going the casual route, wear booties. As the name suggests, these jeans are perfect for boots!

Trying to find the right jeans to wear with certain pairs of boots can be a stressful situation when you are running out the door in the morning. I hope this super simple guide helps with the process, and if not, just search outfit ideas on Pinterest!

Nachos: Caramel Apples Edition

Nachos: Caramel Apples Edition
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsea-crockett-nachos-caramel-apples-edition.jpg

October is here, and I couldn’t be more excited about it! Fall is in the air, and with that comes changing leaves, cooler weather, and of course “fall themed” food! Today on the blog we are going to give nachos a fun little spin. If you like caramel apples, then you’re going to love this new take on nachossalted-caramel-apple-nachos-1024x885

Ingredients:

  • 4 large green apples

  • ½ package unwrapped caramels or caramel bits

  • 1 tablespoon of water

  • ½ package white chocolate chips

  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips

  • 1 crushed Heath bar

Clean and dry the apples. Slice them, then arrange them on whatever you are serving the nachos on. I recommend a large serving platter. Next, place the caramels in a glass bowl with 1 tablespoon of water and microwave for 25 seconds at a time until they are melted. Drizzle this over the apples, then place the white chocolate chips in a separate glass bowl and microwave just like you did with the caramels. Drizzle this over the apples as well. Then sprinkle the mini chocolate chips and crumbled Heath bar over the apples. Serve right away or refrigerate until you want to eat it.

This is the perfect treat to bring to a Halloween party or fall get-together!

XOXO, Chels

How To Burn More Fat When You Run

How To Burn More Fat When You Run
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/chelsea-crockett-how-to-burn-more-fat-when-you-run.jpg

Sometimes I feel like no matter how much I run, my stubborn fat just won’t go away! I recently started discovering a love for running and I am so excited to its impact on my health, but sometimes I feel like I’m not seeing results. If you cut out foods that are high in fat and incorporate these tips into your next run, you can kiss that belly fat goodbye!download

  1. Mix up your pace: Interval workouts are a surefire way to boost your metabolism. Instead of running at one set pace for your whole workout, alternate between running at a fast pace for about a minute and then running at a slow pace for 2 and a half minutes.

  2. Turn up the time: Just doing crunches wont trim your waist. You have to put the work and the time in! Every 5 minutes of running at a ten-minute mile pace burns about 45 calories, so think about that during your next run and it will motivate you to go just a bit longer!

  3. Kick up your knees: One way to strengthen your core is to do one minute intervals where you run with high knees. Concentrate on using your abs rather than your leg muscles and get those knees as high as you can!

I cannot wait to use these tips on my next run! I am so ready to kick belly fat to the curb.

2016 Fall Bucket List

2016 Fall Bucket List
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Chelsea-Crockett-Fall-Bucket-List.jpg

Fall festivities are some of the best of the entire year!  Apart from breaking out my boots and sweaters, I’m getting ready for all the bonfires and haunted houses I plan to attend!  There are so many different ways to spend your fall, so I put together a fun bucket list for you and your friends to get the most out of this season!

  • Go on a hike.  Fall is the best time of the year to go on a hike.  It’s the perfect weather to be outside.  You also get to see all of the leaves changing colors! (Plus, being active never hurts!)

  • Halloween time is the best time for a scary movie night with your BFFs! Chelsea Crockett - Halloween Treat  If you’re not into scary movies, you can always watch some classic Halloween movies such as Hocus Pocus or Halloween Town!

  • Bake, bake, bake!  There are so many festive treats to make like the picture on the right that’ll make your mouth water.

  • Carve a pumpkin (and eat the pumpkin seeds!).  Whenever my family carves pumpkins, we always salt and bake the seeds at the end.  Not only do you get a jack-o-lantern out of it but a yummy snack, too!

  • Go to a haunted house or trail.  You can’t have Halloween without a little scare!

  • Make s’mores.  If you have a bonfire, s’mores along with apple cider are a necessity!  Fun fact: even if you don’t have a bonfire, there are ways to make them using your microwave!

  • Have a fall photoshoot.  It’s so fun to dress up in sweaters and boots and take fun pictures outside with your friends!  At least it makes for a good Instagram post, right?

What else do you have on your fall bucket list? If you haven’t made one, I urge you to make the best of this season!

XOXO – Chelsea

DIY Apple Face Mask Recipe

DIY Apple Face Mask Recipe
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Chelsea-Crockett-Apple-Face-Mask.jpg

One of my favorite things about fall is the abundance of apple flavored treats, scented candles, etc.  Even better than buying it in the store, you can create your own DIY apple face mask!  Not only do you get an amazing fall face mask out of it but a fun DIY craft, as well!  Here’s how to make your own. 🙂

Because of apple’s hard texture, you’ll need a blender to make this mask into a paste that you can apply to your skin.  Chelsea Crockett - Apple Face Mask MixChop up half an apple into small pieces and blend them together in the blender.  Heat up a small amount of milk and add a tablespoon of warm milk to the blender.  You’ll then take an egg and add the yolk to the mixture, as well!  Before blending in the yolk, I suggest stirring it to evenly distribute it.  You can even add in a tablespoon of oatmeal to thicken up the mixture and make it more spreadable!  Spread the mask on your face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.  Rinse with warm water and enjoy your new soft skin!

I hope you like this apple scented face mask as much as I do!  Not only does it smell good, but it leaves your face feeling clean and hydrated!

Love, Chelsea

Simple Halloween Makeup 2016

Simple Halloween Makeup 2016
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Chelsea-Crockett-Halloween-Makeup.jpg

Halloween is the only time of the year that you can play dress up no matter how old you are!  I always love taking it to the next level and going all out with my Halloween makeup.  There are hundreds of different looks you can try, but I wanted to pick some of the simpler ones to share with you all!  Makeup might not be your best talent, so here are some easy-to-do tutorials!

Zombie makeup is always super easy to pull off.  Last year, I had to work an event at my school and had to dress up as a zombie!  I went all out and put makeup all over my body (as you can see in the picture above)! Chelsea Crockett - Rainbow Filter Makeup For this look, I used a lighter foundation for my face to make it look pale.  I then took black and purple eyeshadow to give my eyes and cheeks a hollowed look. Depending on how much you want to add, apply different shades of red paint to your face, arms, etc. for fake blood!  Most Halloween stores will even sell paint for this exact use!

Being a Snapchat filter is such a fun and trendy way to show off your makeup skills this year!  The two easiest looks to try out are the rainbow and deer filters!  Once again, Halloween stores will sell face paint that’s made just for this purpose.  Painting on the filter like the picture on the left isn’t hard to do!  As for the deer filter, simply using a contour kit, black eyeliner, and concealer will seal the deal.  Just google it and a picture will show up for you to go off of!

What are you being for Halloween this year?  Let me know in the comment section below!

Happy Halloween! – Chels
