3 Makeup Looks for NYE

3 Makeup Looks for NYE
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Chelsea-Crockett-NYE-Makeup-Looks.jpg

New Year’s Eve is the one holiday you can go above and beyond with your makeup.  You can rock as much sparkle and glitter as you want since you’ll be ringing in the new year all night long!  In case you wanted to try something new this holiday, here are 3 makeup looks that are perfect for the night ahead!

Gold – If you want your look to focus more on gold tones, try out a look like the one on the right!  Chelsea Crockett - NYE MakeupDoing a smoky eye with brown shades will create the perfect base to add some gold sparkle.  Fill in your eyebrows and add a maroon lip to seal the deal!

Silver – If your outfit calls for a silver makeup look, focus on black and grey tones.  Since theses shades are darker, I suggest using black only on the outer parts of your lid.  You don’t want to use too many dark shades especially if you normally don’t wear a lot of eyeshadow.  Add a shimmer silver shade over your base.  (You can even add some blue tones to compliment the grey!)

Nude – Maybe you’re not into all of the sparkle and glitter and want to keep it a little simpler.  Pick a couple eye shadows that are more matte rather than shimmer.  You can do a light smoky eye paired with a matte lipstick!  Keep it simple but still complimenting your outfit.

I hope this completes your look for this New Year’s Eve!

XOXO – Chelsea

5 Spiritual New Year’s Resolutions for 2017

5 Spiritual New Year’s Resolutions for 2017
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Chelsea-Crockett-New-Years-Resolutions.jpg

New Year’s resolutions are a good way to create a few positive habits in your life.  Most of the time, our New Year’s resolutions revolve around working out more, eating healthier, spending more time with family, etc.  But why not shift our focus to improve ourselves a little more spiritually, as well as physically?  Here are 5 spiritual resolutions to add to your list! 🙂

Chelsea Crockett - New Year

  • Go to church/find a church.  If you haven’t found a church that fits you perfectly, that’s okay!  Make an effort to try out different churches and services each Sunday morning.  And if you’ve been going to the same church for years, encourage yourself to get out of bed and make it there every week!

  • Read the Bible daily.  You don’t understand the benefits of reading the Bible every day until you start to do it.  It will teach you more wisdom and knowledge that you didn’t even know existed!

  • Pray, pray, pray!  Prayer is one of the most important things in your walk of faith.  To be able to talk to God at any time of any day is a blessing, so take advantage of it!

  • Practice patience.  You’ve always heard the saying “patience is a virtue,” and that’s one of the truest sayings there is!  Practicing to be patient despite the circumstances will teach you more than you think.

  • Heal past relationships.  Forgiveness is something that can be one of the hardest things to give.  But when you heal a broken relationship, you’ll realize a weight will be lifted off your shoulders!

I encourage you to try some of these out and even add some of your own!

Happy New Year! – Chelsea

Upcoming Fashion Trends to Look for in 2017
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Chelsea-Crockett-2017-Trends.jpg

2016 was quite the year to remember.  It gave us many things, both good and bad, that will go down in the books!  Something that 2016 did give us were many trends that made their statements in the fashion world!  There are several fashion trends that are predicted to make their debut or comeback in 2017.  Here are some of them so you can get a head start!

  • Sheer.  Chelsea Crockett - Slip DressSheer is a material that’s always been around but has never gotten a lot of attention.  But in 2017, it’s supposed to be one of the hottest trends!

  • Flare.  Flare jeans have started to make a comeback toward the end of 2016, but in 2017, they’re expected to really take off!  I love the flared look because it adds a Boho, fun feel to your outfit.

  • Romantic style.  This trend includes a lot of velvet, silk, pinks, and reds!  An outfit like the one on the right represents this feminine style perfectly.  Silk slip dresses will be in almost every store next year! 🙂

  • Sneakers.  In 2016, retro Adidas sneakers made a massive comeback.  In the new year, sneakers will be totally acceptable to throw on with almost any look!  Get a pair that you can rock to pull off the street style.

  • Street style.  Speaking of street style, it is big as it is, but it’s getting even bigger!  Brands such as Adidas, Nike, and many others will be coming out with some stylish pieces to add to your street style collection.

Which trend can you see yourself rocking in 2017?  Let me know below!

Cheap and Easy DIY Ornament Wreath

Cheap and Easy DIY Ornament Wreath
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-Cheap-and-Easy-DIY-Ornament-Wreath.jpg

Christmas time is expensive. Between buying gifts, hosting parties, and traveling to see family, you are probably spending a solid amount of cash. Why waste extra money on expensive decorations? Cheap plastic ornaments can be made into an adorable wreath that will look WAY more expensive than it actually is! Here is an easy tutorial for this cute DIY.

What you will need:

  • Foam wreath

  • Hot glue gun

  • Plastic ornaments

  • Ribbon343b198ddab9ef2cf1c81f5b965daae3

Lay out the foam wreath. Next, put some hot glue on an ornament and place it on the wreath. Do this with the rest of the ornaments, and mix up small and large ornaments of different shades of the same color. Glue the ornaments to both the wreath and to each other. That will keep them from coming loose and falling off. Tie some ribbon in a bow at the top of the wreath to allow it to hang from a hook.

That’s it! How easy was that? Now you have a wreath that looks like it is store bought! Your friends will totally love it.

How To Save Money In College

How To Save Money In College
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Money-saving.jpg

As most of you know, I am back from college. But, when I was there, money was a worry for me, and I know it is a big worry for my friends who are in school. College is crazy expensive as we all know. How do you save money when you have to pay for textbooks, food, tuition, and more! Having a job is almost a must, and it is difficult to do that and balance your course load and social life at the same time. So, to ease your (and my) worries about saving money during college, here are a few tips.

  1. Buy used textbooks: And then sell them back! Or rent them. Chegg.com is a great resource for this. Or you can even post the books on Facebook when your class is over and see if any of your friends need that book and can buy it from you! This is a much cheaper option over buying new textbooks.

  2. Sell unneeded things: Do you have a closet full of old bags, clothes, games, or anything of value that you just don’t use anymore? Sell it! Every few dollars helps.college-scholarships

  3. Shop & spend less: I know it is tempting to do a little retail therapy, especially after a tough exam, but resist the urge! There are other way more important things to spend your money on, like savings and tuition. When you do shop, shop with a purpose and only buy the thing you came in the store for. Also, shop at discount stores like Tj Maxx and Marshalls! I love those stores. And another thing, when you are out shopping, ask if they offer student discounts before you check out!

  4. Apply for scholarships, buy your own food, and make your own coffee: Scholarships are free money, so apply for as many as you can! Also, instead of going to Chipotle for dinner, eat on campus or buy your own groceries and make a bunch of meals with them to save money. This goes for coffee, too. You can find yummy coffee “recipes” online that taste just as good as Starbucks, and for a fraction of the price!

Making small changes in the way you live during college can really help your wallet out. Only spend what you have budgeted, and keep track of what you spend. Saving money, no matter what amount, is so beneficial to you in the long run, and your future self and student loans will thank you!

XOXO, Chels

Cold-Weather Poncho Style

Cold-Weather Poncho Style
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Chelsea-crockett-Cold-Weather-Poncho-Style.jpg

Ponchos used to be a fashion statement of the past, but recently they have made their way back into style. There are so many different variations of them, from plaid to plain to patterned! Here are my top 3 favorite ways to play up ponchos this season.

  1. Pretty in plaid: I love this preppy take on ponchos. The pattern is classy and timeless. Wear a flowey white long-sleeve blouse under your poncho, and add in some dark jeans and boots to finish off the look.

  2. Fun fringe: This might be my favorite way to wear ponchos. The fringe is so fun and flirty! Pair with simple black jeans, suede booties, and a neutral tee.images

  3. Cute and casual: Wear a simple poncho with casual jeans and boots for an effortlessly cute ensemble.

What is your favorite poncho pair?

DIY Post-Holiday Detox

DIY Post-Holiday Detox
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-diy-post-holiday-detox.jpg

After the major amounts of delicious food I devoured over Thanksgiving and now Christmas, I feel very much like frosty the snowman. Bloated and fluffy. It feels not-so-good. I would MUCH rather feel tight and toned! I was looking for a way to detox all of the guck I ate over break out of my system and start of the year fresh and healthy, and that is when I found this yummy holiday detox!

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana

  • 1-2 cups of stem-less kale

  • 1 cup apple cider (unsweetened)

  • 1 cup of ice/water

  • Dash of cinnamon1425862737615

Blend all of these ingredients together until the mixture is smooth. If you want a juice-like texture, use water. If you want more of a smoothie-like drink, go for ice. If you want some extra healthy protein, toss in a handful of your favorite nuts before blending! Just an FIY, the drink will naturally separate as it sits, so there may be a layer of foam at the top of the drink after sitting a while. Just stir it up and drink it down!

I’m ready to detox and feel fresh again. Are you?

XOXO, Chels

How to Become a Brow-Tweezing Expert

How to Become a Brow-Tweezing Expert
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-How-to-Become-a-Brow-Tweezing-Expert.jpg

I usually try to let the professionals handle my brows, but I have been wanting to try and learn to do them myself. Brows are such a prominent facial feature, so it is pretty important to get them right! It is so easy to make plucking and shaping mistakes. Here are some tweezing tips from the pros to help you improve your skillz.

  1. Outline your brows before plucking: Outline your eyebrows with a pencil and make sure they look tweezer_brow_leopard_160915even. Then tweeze the hairs that are outside of the shape you outlined. Also, invest in an awesome brow pencil to help you create the illusion of perfect brows.

  2. Find the right location: Tweeze where there is good lighting so you don’t over pluck!

  3. Don’t over-tweeze: Don’t tweeze more often than every two weeks! Give your eyebrows a break. Also, alternate between brows when tweezing. Tweeze a few hairs on one brow, then move on to the next, continue to go back and forth to make sure you are tweezing evenly.

Follow these tips to become a tweezing queen!

Candy Cane Puppy Chow

Candy Cane Puppy Chow
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-candy-cane-puppy-chow.jpg

The holidays are a great time to snack to your heart’s content. Puppy chow is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I can never put it down once I start! Here is a way to put a Christmas spin on puppy chow. It is so addicting!

Ingredients:

  • 5 cups Rice Chex cerealed9f54a3d36b5d361f0d70597c306389

  • 10 ounces vanilla almond bark or melting vanilla white chocolate

  • 1 cup crushed candy canes

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Pour the Chex cereal into a large bowl. Melt the white chocolate or almond bark according to the directions on the package. Pour the melted chocolate over the cereal and stir until it is completely covered. Next, add in the crushed candy canes. Dump the powdered sugar into a Zip Lock bag and then pour the chocolate/candy cane coated cereal into the bag. Seal up the bag, then shake until the cereal is covered by powdered sugar. Pour the puppy chow into a plastic container that has a tight fitting lid. This stuff doesn’t last long, trust me! It will be gone before you know it.  It is great as a little gift if you pour it into a goodie bag and tie a bow on it!

Winter 2017 Hair Color Trends

Winter 2017 Hair Color Trends
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-winter-2016-Hair-Color-Trends.jpg

Fall and winter are a great time to try new things with your hair color. There are some really cool color trends making their way around this season that I really love! If you are wanting to change up your hair color but need some inspiration, look no further. Here are the top 5 hair color trends this winter.

  1. Chocolate rose gold: 2016 is the year of rose gold hair! The winter version features pink tones along with deeper brown hues up top to prevent the need for a touch-up every six weeks.how-to-go-rose-gold-without-dyeing-your-hair-blond-1934101-1476217068-640x0c

  2. Sun-kissed ombre: Even though summer is over, you can still give your look a little glow and warmth! Just ask your hairdresser to add warm honey tones throughout your hair, concentrating it more towards the bottom. This will give you a healthy glow!419327415274362148_g0nitadg_c

  3. Nude hair: There are warm tones, cool tones, and then neutral tones. Nude hair means there is a balance of both warm and cool tones, which cancel each other out to create a neutral color. Neutral colors are totally trendy and easy to wear.09e5ad2f0f2023e6c3c79f7d5f165eb8

  4. Autumn red: Red hair is always in! This year’s red tones are coppery and autumnal. To keep your red hair redder longer, avoid overusing heat tools and also use a shampoo and conditioner that are made for color-treated hair.autumn-red-hair-color-5

If you want to change up your hair, these are great options this season!

How to Deal with Period Breakouts

How to Deal with Period Breakouts
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Chelsea-Crockett-Period-Breakouts.jpg

I think us girls can all agree on one thing: periods are the worst!  They’re the most dreaded time of the month that we can’t do anything to stop.  Not only do periods come with mood swings, cramps, and a lot of other dreaded symptoms, but acne and pimples start to pop up all around our face, too!  Period breakouts are tough to battle, but here are some tips that can help!

The days before:  It’s all about prevention.  Chelsea Crockett - Clay MaskWhen your period is near, there’s not much you can do besides trying to stop the breakouts from coming!  First comes first, avoid clogging your pores at all cost.  Make sure you take off your makeup before going to sleep and avoid touching your face a lot.  If you feel a pimple building up under your skin, try out a clay face mask to get rid of it for you!

During:  Cleanse, cleanse, cleanse!  Keeping your face clean from oils and dirt will aid in preventing hormonal breakouts.  So, make sure you’re thoroughly washing your face in the morning and at night and getting rid of any makeup or oil!

The days after:  After your period has finally come to an end, your skin should hopefully go back to its original state.  The toughest part of your battle is over!  The only thing I suggest is sticking to a daily skin routine to prevent random breakouts and to keep your skin under control.

I hope these help you have clearer skin during your time of the month!

XO – Chels

What to Wear on Christmas Day

What to Wear on Christmas Day
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Chelsea-Crockett-Christmas-Attire.jpg

Christmas is the best holiday of the year.  Not only do you get to experience good food and good company, but you get to dress up in your most stylish holiday attire!  I always have trouble finding Chelsea Crockett - Christmas Outfitthe perfect outfit to wear for all the family get-togethers and fun festivities that come along with the day.  Depending on what you have lined up, you’ll either need a casual outfit, a formal outfit, or maybe even both!  Here are a few ideas to get the holiday fashion flowing!

Casual: The outfit on the left is one of my favorite looks this year.  Poncho coats and cardigans like the one on the left are super “in” this year.  Don’t be shy to rock a mix of red and green!  Plaid is also the perfect pattern that isn’t too over-the-top.  Pair this look with some gold accessories, a pair of heeled booties, and a maroon lip!

Formal:  First, pick what colors are appropriate for the occasion.  I would suggest reds, greens, maroon, tan, neutral colors, etc.  Keep it Christmas-oriented!  Long-sleeved high-neck shirts like the one in the featured image above are perfect to pair with a suede skirt and heels!  If you want to wear a dress, velvet is super popular this season.  Pair it with a clutch and a cute pair of boots or heels!

Which look are you going to try out this Christmas?  Share with me below! :)

Ways To Wear a Blanket Scarf

Ways To Wear a Blanket Scarf
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-ways-to-wear-a-blanket-scarf.jpg

Blanket scarves are one of the best things about winter fashion. They come in so many colors and patterns and can be worn a million different ways! Blanket scarves aren’t just meant to be scarves! Here are a few of my favorite ways to style them.

  1. With a belt: if you want to create a vest out of your scarf, put the middle of the scarf around your neck and let the long parts hang in front. Secure the scarf around your waist with a belt to keep it in place.blanket

  2. As a shawl: Wear the scarf around your shoulders as a shawl or like a poncho! It is a warm and easy way to wear a blanket scarf.

  3. The classic way: Around your neck! Sometimes I avoid wearing my blanket scarves this way because it can sometimes feel like they are suffocating me. But other times when I am freezing (the Midwest is COLD!) the chunkiness of blanket scarves is warm and welcome.

  4. Like a bandana: Tie the corners of the scarf around the back of your neck so the scarf looks sort of like a bandana. This is a really trendy, cool way to wear your scarf.

Can you think of other creative ways to wear blanket scarves?

How to Style Over the Knee Boots

How to Style Over the Knee Boots
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-how-to-style-over-the-knee-boots.jpg

On Pinterest I always see pictures of women wearing chic over-the-knee boots and I drool a little. The boots are so trendy and look effortlessly stylish. They so slimming, too! Well, as we have heard time and time again, some things look better in pictures than they do in real life. Over-the-knee boots are one of those things. As it turns out, styling and being able to pull off over-the-knee boots is actually a bit of a challenge because they look different on everyone! Here are a few tips on how to wear them for every body type.cb666451ac39f3e7bfadeb1f593ee34e

For tall girlies: You ladies have it the best when it comes to over-the-knee boots. Your long legs are beneficial because the boots accentuate them and make them look even longer! Pair them with a simple sweater dress for a great balance between your boots and your hemline.

For curvy ladies: If you have curves you can totally rock these bad boys! It is all about how you wear them. Go for a pair that hits right above the knee and creates a lean, long leg line with some dark denim jeans. As for your top, wear a long sweater or blouse to finish the ensemble off.

For petite gals: When it comes to my petite pals, I suggest pairing over-the-knee boots with fitted pieces that show your shape. It is important not to overwhelm your small frame! Don’t wear tops or dresses with long hemlines that make your legs look short, go for tops/dresses/skirts that leave plenty of space between your hemline and boots.

These stylish boots can work for any body type! You just have to know how to style them in a way that works with YOU. 😉

Winter Lipstick Rules

Winter Lipstick Rules
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-winter-lipstick-rules.jpg

In the winter time is when I wear the most lipstick. I like how dark reds and maroon lips look paired with a stylish winter ensemble. Plus, I go to a lot more parties and gatherings because of the holidays so I dress up more in the winter, which means I wear lipstick more often. If you want to get the prettiest pucker, follow these lipstick rules!

  1. Get off to a good start: Before you apply lipstick, exfoliate the dead skin off of your lips with a damp washcloth. This gets your lips prepped and ready for application!

  2. Know your stuff: You should also know what lipstick formula works best for you! Matte formulas last long, but they also dry your lips out a bit. Creamy formulas hydrate your lips, but they arent long-lasting. Experiment with different ones and find which one works best for you!

  3. Go bold: If you want your lip color to be bold, line your lips with a lip pencil before applying lipstick.fullsizerender-67

  4. Be wise about blotting: Blot your lips with a tissue in between applications by gently pressing a tissue to your lips. Just don’t put a tissue in between your lips and close down on it because this may cause the color to rub off.

  5. Top it off: Top your lipstick off with some gloss. The shine helps your lips look plumper and is also moisturizing.

Follow these rules to get the perfect pout!

Chic Christmas Nails

Chic Christmas Nails
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crocckett-chic-christmas-nails.jpg

Christmas time means parties and get-togethers galore! You want to make a statement with your style choices, and nail art is one way to do just that! Now you could choose to keep it simple and just paint your nails red for the holidays, but if you want to live on the wild side, try one of these chic Christmas nail styles!

  1. Angled: This style is simple and unique. Just take a piece of tape and cover half of your nail with it. Paint the other half white, let it dry a bit, and then peel the tape off. Paint clear top coat over each nail to seal the color in, and you’re done!nails

  2. Chevron stripes: This style is a new take on chevron. It sort of reminds me of a snow flake! Paint your nails with a clear base coat, then use nail tape to make the chevron pattern. Paint over your whole nail with white polish, and pull off the tape while the polish is still wet. Once it is dry, apply a top coat.nails-1

  3. Subtle sparkle: This style might be my favorite of the 3. It is so subtle and classy. Tape off a triangle at the base of your nail and paint it with glitter polish. You may need a few coats for it to show up. Peel off the tape and coat with clear top coat. Done! It is that simple.nails-2

Statement nails are a great way to finish off any holiday ensemble!

Merry Christmas!

Brownie Batter Dip

Brownie Batter Dip
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-brownie-batter-dip.jpg

Brownie batter dip, where have you been all my life? If you are looking to be the life of the party, bring this bad boy with you to your next holiday party this season. Brownie batter dip pretty much sums up my life motto: chocolate makes anything better. This dip is great on anything, from strawberries to pretzels to apples and animal crackers! Here is how to make this deliciously chocolaty dip.

Ingredients:img_1162

  • 8 ounces softened cream cheese

  • ¼ cup butter softened to room temperature

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

  • 5 tablespoons flour

  • 5 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 2-4 tablespoons milk

  • Chocolate chips for topping

  • Pretzels, strawberries, graham crackers, apples, animal crackers for dipping

In the bowl of a mixer, whip together the cream cheese and butter until it is light and fluffy for 1-2 minutes. Add the powdered sugar and mix well. Add the flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, vanilla and 2 tablespoons of milk. Mix until fluffy and smooth. Add additional powdered sugar and/or milk if you want to change the consistency of the dip. The dip should be soft enough to dip a pretzel in but not so soft that it is more of a liquid.

Enjoy!

XOXO, Chels

Athleisure Style This Fall and Winter

Athleisure Style This Fall and Winter
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-athleisure.jpg

Athleisure is an up-and-coming trend that I am loving, I have to admit. Athleisure is casual clothing like yoga pants, sweat pants, and pullovers that are designed to be worn for both exercising and pretty much everything else. So, they are athletic clothes that are stylish and functional, meaning you can wear them to the gym and then to the grocery store and look stylin’ while doing both. This trend is both comfy and trendy, so I am ready to hop on board. Here are 3 athleisure looks to try this fall and winter.

  1. Super casual: In this style we see workout leggings paired with a loose tank top layered under a simple pullover. The outfit is finished off with some slip-on sneakers. I like this look because it is effortless and really casual, but it is also comfy and can be worn out and about.0c6ead14e21331bfc652272ade7c4ab4

  2. Cute and comfy: This next look pairs workout leggings with some Hunter boots, and white long-sleeve tee layered under a cute thermal pullover and puffy vest. This style is really preppy and cute while also being comfy and practical.5939f30b8b4c520aa203b4e31589e4a5

  3. Trendy and effortless: This next look is the most complex, but is also my personal favorite. This look pairs some workout leggings with awesome textured patches on the knees, a white long-sleeve tee, and a green army jacket with an infinity scarf to top it off. The tennis shoes keep the outfit athletic while the army jacket takes it to a more “street-worthy” state.3eedbd2995cf26b1f16332744e2b1fc2

I love outfits that I can wear straight from the gym to run errands, or just to be comfy while I’m out and about! Athletic clothes can be dressed up in so many ways to make them more “outfit” ready. Who says comfy can’t also be cute?

XOXO, Chels

How to Save Your Skin This Winter

How to Save Your Skin This Winter
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-how-to-Save-Your-Skin-This-Winter.jpg

Winter can really do a number on your skin. It can dry you out and do not-so-pretty things to it. Plus, it can feel itchy and uncomfortable and flaky. Want to know how to give your skin the attention it deserves this winter? Read on!

  1. Give your lips some love: Winter can cause your lips to become more and more chapped and dry. One way to care for your lips is to use a lip scrub on them. Get all of that yucky dry skin off! This also moisturizes your pout.beauty-neutrogena-400x400

  2. Deal with dry skin: Don’t try and cover up your dry skin with makeup. Deal with it at the source! Exfoliate the dead skin off of your face before you apply makeup. It will get the flaky skin off. Moisturize after you exfoliate for maximum dry skin

  3. Moisturize often: Moisturize several times a day to prevent the dry skin mentioned above. Make sure your moisturizer has sunscreen in it to prevent wrinkles and skin cancer.

  4. Body lotion: Apply body lotion in the shower to lock in the hydration! Towel off in the shower and then slather on your lotion. I also like to use coconut oil on my skin after a shower to fight dry skin.

Hopefully these tips keep your skin happy this winter.

5 Ways to Prepare Your Bedroom/Dorm for Winter

5 Ways to Prepare Your Bedroom/Dorm for Winter
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Chelsea-Crockett-Winter-Bedroom.png

Winter is here and amongst us whether we like it or not.  Since we change our wardrobes and other things during the cold months, why don’t we make our rooms a little winterproof too?  Whether you’re living in a dorm, apartment, or still at home, here are some things to get your room nice and cozy for the winter!

  • Get a heated blanket.  Once you get a heated blanket, you’ll never go back!  They’re so nice to curl up in after coming in from the cold weather. (Maybe add it on to your Christmas wish list!)

  • Purchase a fuzzy rug!  Chelsea Crockett - RugPurchasing a warm, fuzzy rug will make your room cozier and winter ready.  It’ll even be an added decoration to make your room more stylish!

  • Buy a humidifier.  The air outside gets ten times drier during the winter which can mess with your skin and lungs.  Get a humidifier to help with any dry skin, stuffy noses, coughs, etc.!

  • Get a couple holiday scented candles!  A scented candle totally gets your room into the holiday mood.  Whether you like a Christmas cookie scent or a pine scented candle, you can find the perfect one to fill your room with.

  • Find the right temperature.  Nothing is worse than an overheated or freezing dorm room.  Find a temperature that’s perfect for you.

Have any more tips I should add to the list?  Let me know so I can try them out for myself!

XOXO – Chels

Do These Weird Beauty Products Really Work?

Do These Weird Beauty Products Really Work?
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Chelsea-Crockett-Weird-Beauty-Products.jpg

I see so many beauty trends and products that make me stop and think “does that really work?”  Sometimes I branch out and give them a try and am very surprised with the results!  I picked a few different products to tell you about that surprisingly work and should be on your wish list!

  • Light Therapy Acne Mask.  Neutrogena recently released a light therapy acne mask that supposedly gets rid of acne and reduces inflammation.  I have one myself and was skeptical at first, but it really makes a difference!  It’s not only relaxing but super beneficial for your skin.

  • Peel Off Lip Stain.  Peel off lip stain really depends on which brand you try for it to be a success or not!  Some brands are messy and don’t really make a difference whereas others are long-lasting and easy to use.  Read the reviews before you buy!Chelsea Crockett - Lip Stain

  • Lip Tattoos.  As long as you use these right, they usually work!  You have to place them on your lips carefully and wait for the right amount of time.  Why not try them out for fun? 🙂

  • Eyeliner Stencils.  Makeup stencils are sometimes hit or miss when it comes to the quality of them.  I’ve used an eyeliner stencil before and they won’t give you the perfect wing most of the time, unless you master them!

  • Hair Straightening Brush.  Surprisingly, these work pretty well!  The only exception is if you have really curly hair.  Either way, these brushes are great for a quick straighten!

Which product do you want to try out?  Let me know below!

Do’s & Don’ts of Long-Distance Dating

Do’s & Don’ts of Long-Distance Dating
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Chelsea-Crockett-Long-Distance-Relationships.jpg

Long distance dating can be tough.  Being in a relationship can be hard enough as it is, but adding distance into the equation can make it ten times harder!  There are certain things you and your boyfriend/girlfriend can do and not do to make your long-distance relationship easier and all around better!

  • DON’T feel the need to talk or text 24/7.  I get it, you miss one another, but being across the country from each other doesn’t mean you need to keep tabs on him/her all the time.  Long-distance relationships need a lot of trust and this helps build that!  Chelsea Crockett - Long Distance Dating

  • DO make an effort.  The worst feeling is when you feel like you’re putting in more than you’re getting out.  Make sure you’re both making an equal amount of effort!

  • DO keep a positive attitude.  Positivity is everything!  If you really want it to work, don’t doubt and complain about your situation.  Think about the good!

  • DON’T ignore your problems.  Just because you can’t talk in person doesn’t mean you shouldn’t bring up problems or issues.  It’s important to keep a healthy and open relationship whether it’s face-to-face or not.

  • DO give each other reassurance.  Reassurance is so important when you’re dating someone far away from you.  Knowing that each other is 100% invested and willing to make the relationship work will help through the good and bad times.

If you’re in a long-distance relationship, share with me some tips below on how you make it work!

Life Lessons From: Colossians 3:12

Life Lessons From: Colossians 3:12
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Life-Lessons-From-Colossians-3-12.jpg

Colosians 3:12 tells us “Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” You can wear the cutest clothes and be the best dressed gal in town, but if your personality isn’t clothed in the qualities that we talked about above, you aren’t stylish in the sight of God.

Wearing stylish and cute clothes makes us feel pretty and confident. Wearing a compassionate, kind, humble, gentle and patient personality should do the same. If you look great but have a bad attitude, people will not be as quick to be your friend. I know that I strive to clothe myself in the virtues colossiansmentioned in Colissians 3:12 because they make me feel beautiful. They make people want to be around me, and they make me a good friend and role model. They will do the same for you if you choose to wear them!

Instead of worrying so much about our outward appearance, we should start paying more attention to what is on the inside.

XOXO, Chels

Tips to Get to Bed Ontime

Tips to Get to Bed Ontime
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-tips-to-get-to-bed-ontime.jpg

Bedtime procrastination is a real thing. Our bodies give us cues to let us know that we are tired and that we should go to sleep, but there are so many temptations telling us to delay bedtime. We all know we need at least 8 hours of sleep to be healthy, but let’as face it, we have all reached for our phone or the TV remote and have postponed sleep.  Sticking to a sleep schedule can be tough when you are used to procrastinating. Here are a few ways to get into a better sleep routine so that you can be the healthiest you can be.

  1. Establish a bedtime routine: Whether it is reading a book at the same time every night or setting an alarm to remind you when to start heading to bed, setting a regular bedtime routine is the best way to train your mind into recognizing when it is bedtime.4365576

  2. Work out: Exercising about 3 hours before you head to bed can be a great way to induce deep sleep.

  3. Don’t take your problems to bed: Try to go to bed happy (or if not happy, try to not be upset). Easier said than done, I know! Don’t dwell on your problems. They can cause restless sleep! Try journaling your problems or worries before bed to help calm your mind.

Sleep well!

XOXO, Chels
