Ready for a Boyfriend…or Nah?

Ready for a Boyfriend…or Nah?
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Chelsea-Crockett-are-you-ready-for-a-boyfriend.jpg

A lot goes into a relationship.  Unfortunately, it isn’t as easy as some may think.  It’s important to make sure you and your significant other are ready and mature enough before jumping into things.  You want the best relationship possible, right?!  Although I am no expert on relationships, I do have a few pointers to see if you’re ready for a boyfriend….or nah!

  1. If you feel like you need a boyfriend to make you feel complete, then you are not ready. You need to find out who are truly are before relying on another person. Knowing yourself is the first step to being happy.

  2. Sexual relationships are the wrong kind of relationships. A relationship should be based off a sense of friendship, making the other happy, and truly loving them for them! If your relationship is only based on sex, then you’re in it for the wrong reasons.

  3. It’s important to accept people for who they are. If you start to pick out everything that is wrong about someone, then you will eventually make yourself miserable in the relationship. Everyone has their flaws! No one is perfect!

  4. If you feel the need to always have a guy, then you need to take a moment and look at yourself. If you’re going from boyfriend to boyfriend, then you are not ready for a relationship. Wait until you find someone that really makes you happy and someone you could see yourself with for a long period of time.

  5. NEVER change who you are for a guy. If you feel the need to change yourself, then move on! There are plenty of fish in the sea. The right guy will come around who likes you for you.

Finding a boyfriend can be tricky, but finding the “one” is even harder!  It’s okay to be cautious when it comes to your next relationship…you want it to be a good one!

I love you all!

Boho Braids!

Boho Braids!
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Chelsea-Crockett-boho-braids.jpg

Between bohemian fashion, the laid-back beach lifestyle, and festivals like Coachella, braids are the coolest hairstyle on the streets right now!  It’s all about minimum effort and braids allow you to do just that!  It’s so simple to throw your hair in a braid and walk out of the house.  Although the standard braid can be boring, there are so many ways to spice it up!  Check out some of my favorite ways to incorporate a braid into your hairstyle.

If you love the standard braid but want to change it up a bit, try curing your hair and leaving some of your short layers out of the braid.  You could also tease all of your hair and then start to braid it.  Change it up by trying a fish tail braid!  Both of these looks will give you that laid-back, effortless boho look.

If you have long hair, leave your hair as it naturally is and start a braid under the top layer of your hair right above one of your ears.  Once you are done braiding, drape it across your head so itChelsea Crockett- braided hair headband looks like a headband.  Secure the opposite side with bobby pins and you’ve got a quick and simple hairstyle!

The biggest “don’t” when going for the boho look is hairspray!  If your hair falls, then let it fall!  That’s part of the boho hairstyling.  It’s all about being natural, not sleek and stiff.

Love,

Chelsea

Road Trip Tips

Road Trip Tips
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Chelsea-Crockett-road-trip-tips.jpg

Are any of you pretty ladies road trippin’ this spring break? A few of my friends are, and it got me thinking of some tips I could give you all if you are planning on spending a few hours in the car over break! Here are 3 tips to make your road trip run as smooth as molasses.

1. Make a “road trip” playlist! I have a blog up about some great songs for this spring break, so check it out! When you are listening to tunes, you have your own soundtrack to your trip! It makes the time fly and it will keep you happy and energized. You can add some audio books to your playlist, too, if you want to get some reading in on your trip!chelsea crockett road trip

2. Clean out your ride. Nothing is worse than being crammed in the back of the car along with last week’s McDonald’s remains and forgotten granola bar wrappers. And don’t forget those smelly soccer cleats! Before you leave, clean out everything that doesn’t have a place in your car, and you can even vacuum it for good measure! Keep an empty Walmart bag in the car to throw food wrappers or trash you may accumulate on your trip.

3. Pack a pillow, blanket, snacks, and water. You want to be cozy if you are the passenger, and you want to be fed and hydrated! Also, by keeping your own snacks and water in the car with you, it will allow you not to have to take as many stops to buy food, which cuts down your travel time!

Now go hop in your car, blare “Life is a Highway” and road trip it up!

Love Doctor Chelsea

Love Doctor Chelsea
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/love-doctor-chelsea.jpg

Welcome to the office of love dr. Chelsea! If you watched my  YouTube vid, then you know it is all about my love life (of lack thereof). Well, since I am such an expert on love (okay, maybe not an expert) I thought that I would give you all some friendly relationship advice. Relationships are tough, so a little advice wouldn’t hurt!

  1. Stay independent. When you are in a relationship, it is really easy to want to spend every waking minute with that person. Resist that temptation! I am not saying that it is bad to spend time with them, but everyone knows that girl that blows off all of her friends for her boyfriend, and that is totally not healthy! Doing your own thing every once in a while ad44d43ed81591320331ae17024066d8leads to a healthier relationship.

  2. Don’t try to be perfect, just be honest. Just be yourself when you are with your man candy! He knows that you aren’t perfect, so don’t try to be! Trying to be perfect for him can be exhausting, and it doesn’t show him who you really are.

  3. Don’t take yourself too seriously. This kind of goes with the last one, but I thought it deserved its own category. If you try and take yourself too seriously, then you keep yourself from having fun! Joke around, have tickle fights, just do fun stuff! But also, when the time is right, you can be serious. Joking around can be great, but sometimes you have to take things seriously.

  4. Keep your boundaries clear. When you are up front about your boundaries and morals, it makes dating much easier because they know exactly what you are about! Keep it Christ centered J

The picture I used in this article shows you how joking around can be fun. Love can be a blast, you just gotta have some tips on how to navigate through the waters. Hang on ladies, it can be a bumpy ride!

CHelsea crockett primer

1. Go lighter: Avoid going too dark when it comes to your shade of foundation. Have a makeup professional match you with your perfect shade! (You can go to places like Beauty Brands, or even to the makeup counter at Walgreens, and they will totally help you out!)

2. Matte it up: For cheeks, avoid shimmery powder, and when it comes to eye shadow, keep the shimmer strictly on your lids.

3. Prime focus: Primer is vital for making your makeup last. Oil-free versions are the best and also sensitive-skin friendly.

4. Hold off on the..: SPF! Your primer and foundation should be SPF-free. Products that contain SPF cast a ghostlike glow with the camera flash.

5. Line it up: When you are lining your eyelids, start in the center and work your way to the outer edge. When you line the entire lid, you will cause the eyes to appear smaller. Use a slanted brush with a dark shadow to line the lower lash line.

Stay tuned for part 2! Get ready to say cheese!

DIY Braided Crown

DIY Braided Crown
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Blendceowb.jpg

Have you ever heard of a crown braid? They can be really tricky, but they are so chic! Today I am going to teach you how to do a half crown braid. This hair style can be worn in both casual and formal settings.

1. Style your hair how you prefer it, whether it is straightened or curled.

2. Take the hair from the front section from one side of your head and braid it. Tie the end with a clear elastic. Do the same to the other side of your face. You should now have two braids that hang down on each side of your face. These braids should be relatively small.

half-up-braid9

3. Take one of the braids and pull it across the back of your head and secure the end with a bobby pin. Next, take the other braid and pull it across

the back of your head, just like you did with the first. Tuck the ends of this one under the beginning of the first braid to hide the ends. Pin the ends with a bobby pin. Hair spray your ‘do to keep it secure!

Braids are always a super chic, easy option of pulling your hair back! Try this hairstyle and see how much you will love it!

Tips to Help you Get Along with your Roomie

Tips to Help you Get Along with your Roomie
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/chelsea-crockett-get-along-with-your-roomate.jpg

Do you have a roommate? Are you going to have one soon? Sometimes they can be your best bud, and other times they can be a pain in your boootay. Living in a room the size of an airplane bathroom can be tough on anyone. Here are a few ways on how to keep your cool with your roomie!

1. Be Honest

If you know you are a night owl or a neat freak, tell your roommate. Ask what their pet peeves are so you know to avoid doing those things, and always try and be open to their opinions and concerns.

keep-calm-and-stick-to-the-roommate-agreement

2. Address Issues Right Away

When an argument or problem arises, talk to your roommate immediately. Don’t complain to other people or tweet about it! It is better to calmly approach your roommate and let them know what is bothering you. A lot of issues start off small but can escalate super quickly if they are not addressed right away!

The Golden Rule totally applies here. Treat your roommate as you would like to be treated. This means, don’t borrow clothes without asking or eat your roommate’s food without permission. Don’t bring a ton of friends to the room when you know they have a big exam the next day that they are studying for. Also, always ask before bringing friends over to the room! 3. Be Respectful

I hope you have a great time at college, make tons of friends, and even better roomates! J

Brighten, Tone, & Soothe With Homemade Face Scrubs

Brighten, Tone, & Soothe With Homemade Face Scrubs
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Chelsea-Crockett-Homemade-Face-Scrub.jpg

Hi girls!

Store-bought face masks and scrubs can sometimes be expensive and threatening to your skin.  You have to be careful with what you pick and choose to try on your face.  Luckily, there are several household ingredients you can mix together to create your perfect face scrub to give off a brighter, smoother feel!

Brightening and toning our faces is something we could all use every once and a while.  A simple recipe for this includes strawberries, almond oil, and sugar.  There are no exact measurements for each ingredient, so you can make as much as you want and however thick you want it!  I suggest using a small dish and filling it about halfway with sugar.  Then, add a little bit of almond oil.  Smash up about four or five strawberries and add them to your paste.  The end product should be a perfect brightening scrub!

Chelsea Crockett - Cucumber ScrubTo soothe sensitive skin, we can make an easy scrub using cucumbers, avocado oil, and brown sugar.  Once again, there are no set measurements, so you can make it to your desired thickness.  For a small amount that works for about one use, take a small dish and fill it, once again, halfway with brown sugar.  Smash up your cucumbers and mix that, and the avocado oil, in with your brown sugar.  And you’re done!  Wash your face and rinse with warm water!

Let me know how your beautiful, new skin turns out!

XO – Chels

DIY: Fix Broken Powder Makeup

DIY: Fix Broken Powder Makeup
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Chelsea-Crockett-broken-makeup.jpg

Hi Girls,

Breaking your favorite eye shadow palette or powder foundation is the worst!  Makeup can be expensive and replacing it is no fun.  So what can you do to restore your compact makeup?  Lucky for you, there is a solution and it’s simple!  Check it out!

Start by leaving your broken powder in its original compact or container.  Add a few drops of rubbing alcohol to the powder and mix it around with your finger.  This should turn the powder into a paste.  Using a butter knife or your finger, flatten out the now pasty powder makeup into its original form.  Let the makeup sit out over night with the lid off, so the alcohol can evaporate.  Once the alcohol has evaporated, your powdered makeup should be back to normal!  It’s so simple!Chelsea Crockett- fix broken makeup

This little trick can save you tons of money throughout the year, since breaking powder makeup can be so easy to do.  Pass this simple trick onto your friends and help them save their makeup.  Trust me, they’ll thank you for it!

XOXO,

Chelsea

Blemishes Be Gone!

Blemishes Be Gone!
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Chelsea-Crockett-Blemishes-Be-Gone.jpg

There’s an endless amount of different articles and websites explaining how to prevent and reduce acne. But let’s be real girls, it is NOT that easy! The harsh reality of acne isn’t so sweet. Most of the time, we tend to break out right before a special date or school pictures… Nowadays there is a wide variety of products available to help cover up your blemishes. Here are some remedies and ways to cover up and conceal those imperfections in no time!

First off, don’t try popping a pimple while you are walking out the door. This just causes more redness and swelling, bringing more attention to it. To help the swelling go down quickly, try applying cold compresses to it for about 10 minutes. Another remedy (which is a little strange but extremely helpful) is applying eye drops to your pimple. Weird, right? But it works, I promise!

SChelsea Crockett - Clinique Advanced Concealerecond, concealing your acne is a must. Make sure your face is clean and moisturized before applying your makeup, especially your concealer. You don’t want your makeup coming off only an hour into the day. One of the best products is Clinique’s Advanced Concealer. Especially for those with sensitive skin, Clinique’s concealer is excellent to cover up your imperfections. It comes in two different shades and is the perfect camouflage :). After concealing, take an eye shadow brush and dip it in loose powder that matches your skin tone. Dab it onto the area you want it. This will help the makeup stay on your skin instead of sliding off.

Have any other good ways you use to make your acne disappear? If so, leave a comment in the section below!

Pineapple Whip Frozen Treat

Pineapple Whip Frozen Treat
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/chelsea-crockett-pineapple-whip.jpg

If you have ever been to Disneyland and had a meal there, then you have probably dined on their delicious pineapple whip! If not, I’ll explain this delicacy to you. Pineapple whip is a dessert that has the same consistency as ice cream! The pineapple whip that is sold in stores and served at Disney is packed with fillers and artificial flavors, which are things we really like to avoid, so I learned how to make it on my own, and make a healthy version! This yummy treat can be served at any summer party or get-together, or even just as a sweet treat after dinner!

Ingredients:img-2250010-1-dole-whip1

-       1 fresh pineapple, cut into pieces

-       1 cup almond milk

-       1 tablespoon honey

Freeze your pineapple chunks a day ahead. Full your blender or food processor with the pineapple, and then add your almond milk and honey. Blend the mixture until your pineapple is now at an ice cream like consistency. Your pineapple whip is now ready to serve, and because it only has 3 healthy ingredients it is totally guilt free!

Clothes Pin Picture Frame

Clothes Pin Picture Frame
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/clothespin-picture-frame-chelsea-crockett.jpg

If you are like me, then you love having pictures displayed around your room. They remind me of the good times I have had and the great people I have had them with. Picture frames can sometimes be a bit pricey, though, and can be a little plain! I found a great DIY to help display those photos in a super cute way! Check it out:

download (3)

What you need:

-          Clothes pins

-          Cardboard

-          Pictures

Cut a medium sized circle out of your cardboard. Make it look like a donut, with the center cut out. If you want, you can cover the ring with decorative paper or fabric to add a little extra oomf to it! Next, hot glue your clothes pins onto the cardboard ring. Make sure they are evenly spaced out and spread out enough that you can fit multiple pictures around the ring without being too crowded. Boom, you are finished! If you want, you can make multiple clothes pin frames and hang them close together in your room to create wall art. Sweet, right?

Show off your artistic side with these cute frames!

Paper Towel Curls

Paper Towel Curls
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Blend.jpg

Who likes spending hours brushing, drying, and then curling their hair? Not many people enjoy this loooonnngg process, but they love the end result! What If I told you that there was a way to curl your hair using nothing but paper towels?  There is a new method of curling hair that I just discovered that takes about 20 minutes to accomplish and doesn’t damage your hair whatsoever! Ladies and gentlemen,  I introduce paper towel curls!

Wash and comb your hair as you usually would. Let it dry a little bit so it isn’t sopping wet.  Start taking sections of your hair, the smaller the section the tighter the curl, and roll the hair the hair into 2 inch strips of paper towel just like you roll a curler. Tie the ends of the paper towel together tight so that it will hold all night.  The paper towels will absorb the water in your hair, so it will dry overnight. In the morning, unwrap the paper towels and DSC_0088presto! Beautiful bouncy curls. Take your fingers and run them through the curls to loosen them up a bit, and mist them with hairspray to help them stay in all day. You can save the strips of paper towel for next time you want to do this hair style so you don’t have to cut the strips all over again.

This hair style saves so much time, and it doesn’t require you to use heat so you can save your hair some damage! Score! If you try this hair style, comment below and let me know how it works out for you!

DIY Hair Bow!

DIY Hair Bow!
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Blend5.jpg

I don’t know if you all love bows, but I sure do. There is just something so fun and flirty and feminine about them! Today I am going to tell you how to create a super cute hair style where you use your hair to create a bow! Read on!

1. Pull your hair into the half-up half-down style, pulling the hair roughly from ear to ear. The more hair you take the bigger the bow will be!

 2. When you are pulling your hair back into the half-up half-down ponytail, once you have wrapped the ponytail holder around your hair twice, don’t pull the hair all the way through. Leave your hair in the loop/bubble position. Face the hair that is sticking out of the bubble towards your forehead.

 3. Split your bubble in half. This is what is making both sides of the bow! Take the hair that is sticking out of the bubble, the ends of your hair, and pull it down the middle where you split your hair. Hold it in place.

4. Use bobby pins to secure the bow and pin any stray hairs into the bow. Mist with hair spray.

Easy, right? I am adding pictures for you visual people, sometimes seeing done helps you do it yourself!

Be Nice…It Pays Off!

Be Nice…It Pays Off!
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Chelsea-Crockett-be-nice.jpg

As the saying goes, “You get more out of sugar than you do out of vinegar.”  Translation: you get more out of being nice to people than being mean to them.  It’s true!  Being nice really does pay off!  It’s easy to turn the other cheek to people you don’t like, but in the long run, you’ll never regret the times you were nice to someone.

People come and go in your life, but you never know when you may run into someone again.  That boy you were mean to in high school?  He could be your dentist one day.  That nerd you didn’t speak to?  She might be one of your children’s college professors.  Running into your past is just a fact of life!  That’s why it is important to be nice to everyone.  Although it can be tough, make it a challenge to smile to someone new each day or strike up a conversation with someone you may not have the best relationship with.

Being nice to someone that you don’t like isn’t being fake; it’s called growing up and being mature.  Always try and be the bigger person.  Who knows what that’ll get you!  I promise you will go far in life if you treat others the right way.  It might just help you on your road to success in school, athletics, or your future career.Chelsea Crockett- nice quote

“So in everything, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” –Matthew 7:12

Blueberry Lemonade

Blueberry Lemonade
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/blueberry-lemonade.jpg

How incredibly refreshing does blueberry mint lemonade sound? I say it sounds crazy good. To me, there is nothing more refreshing than a tall glass of lemonade. Here is the recipe for this dapper drink!chelsea crockett blueberry lemonade

Ingredients:

-          1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

-          ¾ cup superfine sugar

-          4 cups water

-          1 cup fresh blueberries

-          1/3 cup fresh mint

Juice your lemons into a large pitcher. Add your sugar and water, and then stir to dissolve. Add the blueberries and mint, then let the mixture sit in the refrigerator overnight before you serve. The longer you let the mixture stand, the more the flavors will mingle. I personally have a pitcher of this stuff sitting in my fridge right now! You can bet your bottom dollar it will all be gone in a jiff!

Enjoy!

Did God make people in outer Space?

Did God make people in outer Space?
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/christian_cross_fish11.jpg

christian_cross_fishAlthough people may talk about creatures in outer space, no one really knows whether there is life on other planets.  Most of the talk about other life forms comes from make-believe movies and what people imagine might be true.  But if there is life in other parts of the universe, God is in charge of it because God is in charge of the whole universe.  God created everything, and he is the God of all life everywhere, no matter where it may be.

Make Your Room Brighter for Summer!

Make Your Room Brighter for Summer!
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Chelsea-Crockett-summer-bedroom.jpg

Ah!  Summer is almost here!  I can just picture myself laying by the pool with a cool drink in my hand and getting my tan on!  I love to change up my bedroom to make it brighter and cozier in the summer.  Try a few of these simple tips to get a quick summer bedroom!

Summer is all about the sunshine, so it’s time to ditch those dark curtains!  Try hanging up sheer or light colored curtains in order to let the natural light in.  Leaving your curtains open will help you feel more awake and actually make your room look larger!  Try placing fresh flowers in your room or burning a candle with a summer scent like coconut!  Bright flowers will put you in a happy mood, while a good smelling candle will get your senses going!  If you have dark colored bedding, try throwing on a few bright colored pillows to lighten your bed!  Seeing bright colors Chelsea Crockett- bright bedroomeverywhere will really put you in the summer mood!

All of these changes are quick and easy and can be done in a day!  Get summer ready by doing a slight bedroom makeover!  By the time fall comes around, you’ll never want to change your room back!

Love,

Chelsea

4 Hottest Spring Makeup Colors

4 Hottest Spring Makeup Colors
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/chelsea-crockett-hottest-spring-makeup-colors.jpg

The hot makeup looks this spring are totally adorable! They mix soft, spunky colors with bright, sassy colors to create super cute looks. Here are the top 4 hottest spring makeup colors!

  1. Lavender eyes and lips: Lavender is a spring staple. The best kind to use this spring is the shades with undertones of gold and bronze shimmer! Use these lavender shades with a pink-y nude lip gloss for a soft day time look! If you like more of a natural look, then this style is the perfect choice for you!

  2. Tangerine lips: That’s right, orange lips! If you like to stand out and make a statement you’re your makeup, then you will embrace this spring’s new lip color! Makeup artists are even trading in their red lipstick for tangerine.tangerine-lip-color-600x495

  3. Strong pastel nails: When I say “strong” pastel, I mean darker-than-normal pastel! This spring’s new pastels will rock your world. They are a stronger, more concentrated shade of your favorite spring colors.

  4. Jade eye shadow: a douse of this dark, moody green can bring attitude to any garden party! Smudge it on your lids and soften the edges with your fingers.

You can rock these shades all spring long! Try wearing them to your Easter festivities or any get-together you may attend. You will be the Belle of the ball!

Netflix: The Perfect Past Time!

Netflix: The Perfect Past Time!
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Chelsea-Crockett-Netflix.jpg

Okay insiders.  I’m officially Netflix-addicted!  It’s perfect for passing time and procrastinating ;).  There are a few shows my friends and I highly recommend.  Keep reading to discover our faves!

Chelsea Crockett - Gossip GirlGossip Girl, Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl!  I am so obsessed with this show at the moment!  It’s about the “upper-east side” of Manhattan in New York.  The show stars Blake Lively as Serena Van Der Woodsen- and Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf.  The show has 6 seasons with about twenty episodes per season.  It’s constantly changing and keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time!

Another one of my top Netflix suggestions is One Tree Hill!  This show is about a town named “Tree Hill” and shows the eventful lives of the high school students that live there.  It’s such a cute show that you’ll be hooked on :)!

You can also find seasons of many other shows on TV now so you won’t be behind on your favorite series!  Pretty Little Liars is one of the most-viewed on Netflix as well as Lost and Breaking Bad.  So if you’re kicking back and relaxing for the night, open up a Netflix account and thank me later! (haha)

Are You Shampooing Too Often?

Are You Shampooing Too Often?
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Chelsea-Crockett-shampooing-.jpg

Hi Insiders,

Washing and conditioning your hair is obviously a great thing, but did you know that over washing your hair can actually be a problem?!  Every time you wash your hair, you’re striping your hair of its natural oils making it more prone to pick upChelsea Crockett- shampoo extra oil throughout the day.  It can also cause your hair to be drier.  So next time you decided to hit the snooze button instead of washing your hair, don’t feel too bad about it!

Since washing your hair can actually make it more oily, it’s important to train your hair.  If you wash your hair every day, try washing it every other day instead.  Although it might start out by getting very oily, eventually it’ll quit being oily the second day.  Your hair will adapt to your shampooing schedule.  Also, pay attention to your hair type.  The thicker the hair, the more you need to wash it.  If you have fine hair, washing it 3 times a week would be just fine!  It’s important to know your hair.  If you can’t stand the thought of not washing your hair every day, then try using luke-warm water.  The hotter the water, the greater the chance you have of drying out your hair.

Next time you decide to wash your hair, pay attention to how it reacts!  Try training your hair so it becomes the healthiest hair it can be!

XOXO,

            Chels

DIY Photo Map!

DIY Photo Map!
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/chelsea-crockett-photo-map.jpg

Do you love to travel? I love being able to tell people all of the places I’ve been! I love to document my travels with photos. It allows me to look back at all of the fun I’ve had and all of the cool things I have seen! I found a really cool way to document and display all of your travels. All you need is a giant map!

chelsea crockett photo map

The first thing you need for this project is a giant map! What you are going to do is cut pictures out in the shape of the places you have visited and glue them to the map! So, go through your pictures from all of your travels and pic out your favorite from each place. Once you have chosen one photo from each place you have been, print them out pretty big. You can print them out on your computer or take them to Walgreens and have them blown up. Whatever you choose! Then, cut the pictures in the shape of the state they were taken in. You may need to trace the shape onto the picture so it is easier. Then paste the pictures on the map. Hang your picture map where people can see it and you can tell them all about your travels! Not only is it a great conversation starter, but it is also a great way to preserve your memories!

Eye Shadow Order!

Putting on eyeshadow is an art. Did you know that there is a certain order that you are supposed to apply your eyeshadow in? By using these simple steps you can maximize the effects of your eyeshadow and make your eyes pop! Here they are:

chelsea crockett

  1. On the inside of your eyelid, the part closest to your nose, is where you focus the lightest shade.

  2. In the middle of your lid, transition from the light shade to a medium shadow color.

  3. On the outside edge of your lid is where you focus the darker “smokey” color

  4. Use a transition color to blend the dark outside color and middle color together. Check out the diagram to see how to do it!

I use these tips all the time, so I know that you will love them! Try them out and comment below and tell me if they work for you!

Pack the Perfect Carry-on Bag

Pack the Perfect Carry-on Bag
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Chelsea-Crockett-carry-on-bag.jpg

Traveling is one of my favorite things to do, but being on a plane for hours at a time can get boring.  You’re so excited to get to your destination that time seems to barely move!  The key to an easy and entertaining flight is packing the perfect carry-on bag.  Check out my list below!Chelsea Crockett- airport

  • Magazines or a good book:  Get lost in a book and the time will fly!

  • Music player and headphones:  Whether it’s your iPhone or an mp3 player, having music is a must!  Try downloading some new songs before you hit the airport!

  • Snacks:  Not all airlines serve snacks during your flight.  Don’t starve yourself by refusing to buy that $10 pack of peanuts they sell on the plane.  Instead, pack a variety of quick and easy snacks to keep you satisfied the whole flight long.

  • A jacket:  Most airplanes are set at a cool temperature since guests have to sit so close together.  Be sure to pack a jacket so you’re not freezing mid-air.

  • Chap Stick:  The air in most airplane cabins is cool and dry.  Trust me, you’ll be glad you brought this with you.

  • Neck pillow:  If you have a little extra room in your bag, try bringing a neck pillow.  It will make sleeping on the plane so much more comfortable.  Don’t expect the airline to supply you with a pillow and blanket!

Safe travels,

Chelsea

Best Friend Date Ideas

Best Friend Date Ideas
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/chelsea-crockett-best-friends.jpg

We all have that one girlfriend that we just cannot live without. She’s the peanut to your jelly and the milk to your Oreo. She just “gets” you, plain and simple. Whether you are a workin’ woman or nose deep in geometry homework, you should always make time for your BFF. How can you show her you love her? By taking her on a date, of course! Dates aren’t just for you and your boy toy, they are for your bestie, too! Here are some handy date ideas for you and your BFF:

  1. Bestie photo shoot: get a bunch of props together, dress up, do each other’s makeup, and have a blast! You can do your photo shoot anywhere, from your basement to the park!

  2. Make a best friend bucket list: come up with things that you are dying to do with each other. It can be anything from vacationing in Hawaii to skydiving! Be creative!tumblr_mke18jzIAK1s33l0qo1_500

  3. Cook each other dinner: take turns cooking each other your favorite meal. Why YOUR favorite meal? So they can learn more about what YOU love, even if it is just your favorite dish!

Next time you feel like spoiling your sister from another mister, take her out on a date! Treat her right, and get her home before curfew. ;)

3 Ways to Run like a Pro

3 Ways to Run like a Pro
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/chelsea-crockett-run-like-a-pro.jpg

Running gives me such a release. It relieves my tension, my stress, and it sends my endorphins through the roof. I love learning tips and tricks on how to improve my form and my running techniques. Here are 3 ways to run like a pro!

  1. Learn proper form: It may not seem like a big deal, but having good form is uber important! If you run consistently with improper form, it can take a toll on your body and over time it can injure you. When you are running, keep your head stacked over your spine, relax your shoulders, and tighten that core.running-cheaper-than-therapy-square

  2. Fuel your body: running on an empty stomach is no bueno! You need the right amount of fuel, not too much that you cramp while you run, but not too little that you are running on empty. Eat a small protein packed snack about an hour before you run.

  3. Be consistent: When you don’t run for a while, you have to build back your endurance. If you want to stay fit, then you need to make sure that you are being consistent with your running. It is hard to get back in the saddle when you sit out for a while!

Lace up your shoes and hit the trails, ladies!

Rid Your Skin Of Razor Bumps

Rid Your Skin Of Razor Bumps
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Chelsea-crockett-razor-burn.jpg

Ladies ladies ladies…No shave November may be underway, so razor bumps aren’t a huge issue at the moment. Although they are not top priority at the moment, it is always good to know how to avoid those obnoxious, annoying bumps for good. Here are some tips on how to prevent razor bumps!

-Don’t shave every day

Don’t shave so often. Let your hair grow out a bit before shaving it again. Give your bumps time to heal and use the razor every other day at the most.

-Shave under the warm shower and rinse off with cold water

Warm water will soften your hairs and make your skin less prone to irritation. When you are done shaving, cold water will close up the pores, which prevents infection and irritation.

-Use a shaving cream

Shaving cream will moisturize your skin as well as soften your hairs, making them easier to shave. Bumps appear more easily when your skin is dry and prone to irritation. Also, moisturize after you shave because it will reduce redness and irritation and decrease the probability of you getting razor bumps.

-Always use new and sharp razors

Dull razors will irritate the skin around the hair follicle and cause ingrown hairs.  Old and rusty blades can also carry  tons of bacteria, which can be transferred to the skin during shaving. This will not help your existing razor bumps to heal! If you don’t have a new blade, always use alcohol to clean your razor.

Summer Skin Tips

Summer Skin Tips
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/chelsea-crockett-summer-skin-tips.jpg

Summer can really do a number on your skin. It can dry it out, clog up your pores, burn it, all that good stuff! Here are some summer skin tips to keep your hide nice and safe.

  1. Find the right sunscreen for your skin type. This is super important because if you have oily skin, you need to get a sunscreen that is really light and won’t clog your pores! Read the labels good and well before purchasing sunscreen.chelsea crockett sunscreen

  2. Exfoliate more often. Dry skin is the enemy, and chlorine pools and sun can bring out your skin’s bad side! Make sure you exfoliate at least a few times a week to rid your body of all the dead skin that may be building up.

  3. Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before, and use cold yogurt on sunburns. Apply the sunscreen 30 minutes in advance to give it time to soak into your skin. You don’t want to sweat it off or wash off in the pool because you can get a nasty sunburn if your skin isn’t protected! Also, if you do end up looking like a lobster at the end of the day, use cold yogurt on your skin to sooth the burn and heal it.

Go soak up the sun, and protect your skin this summer!

Products I’m Obsessing Over

Products I’m Obsessing Over
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Chelsea-Crockett-favorite-products.jpeg.jpg

The beauty world is constantly coming out with new products.  There are so many to choose from!  Recently I’ve stumbled upon a few new products and I’m totally obsessing over them!  If you haven’t tried them yet, then it’s time to start!

I have never tried a NYX foundation that I didn’t like.  If you tend to have oily/acne prone skin like I do, the Stay Matte, Not Flat Powder Foundation is amazing!  It goes on evenly and covers up pesky zits.  It also dries up any oil so your face doesn’t look shiny.  After applying the foundation, add a little NYX blush and you’re all set!Chelsea Crockett- nyx stay matte not flat powder foundation

Another product I’m obsessed with right now is Secret Deodorant in “Paris”.  It stays on even after I workout, so I don’t have to worry about being smelly, and the scent is fresh and clean.  It also goes on clear, which is great when you’re wearing dark colors.  Beat the sweat with this powerful deodorant.  The last product that you need to try is the bareMinerals Volumizing Mascara.  The product goes on evenly and does not leave clumps in your eye lashes.  It also spreads out each lash and extends them for extra length and volume.

I hope you’ll get a chance to try all of these amazing products!  Clink the links below to purchase them; I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Love,

Chelsea

  • 2 granny smith apples

  • 1 lemon

  • 2 kiwis

  • 1 pound of strawberries

  • 1/2 pound of raspberries

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 3 tablespoons preserves (I used strawberry!)

  1. Zest the lemon and set aside. Peel your apple and then finely chop it. Squeexe 2 teaspoons of lemon juice over the apples and mix well to combine it all.

  2. Finely chop your strawberries and kiwis. Gently combine all of your ingredients, and don’t be afraid if your raspberries start to break apart, it is natural! Chill your mixture and serve it with cinnamon tortilla chips!

Make Fine Hair look Thick!

Make Fine Hair look Thick!
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/chelsea-crockett-make-fine-hair-look-thick.jpg

Do you have thin hair and wish that you had thick hair? I have super thick hair, and I thank God every day for it. For girls who have thin hair, finding ways to do it it can sometimes be quite a chore. Having thick locks can open up your styling options quite a bit! Here are a few tricks to make fine hair look thick!

  1. Watch your conditioner. This is where a lot of products can weigh down your hair. Steer clear of anything that says “smoothing” and “hydrating” on the bottle because these products most likely have oils in them which keep your hair from gaining volume.chelsea crockett

  2. Blow drying. Your first step should be to spray your locks with heat protectant. Flip your hair upside down and blow dry it with a round brush. After the dampness is gone, flip your head back up and blow dry the rest in sections.

  3. Velcro Rollers are your best friend. I am in love with these babies. Set the front pieces of your hair in the velcro rollers and clip them in for around 20 minutes to get mega volume.

  4. Tease tease tease! Let the rollers out and lightly tease the parts of hair at the crown of your head.

If you have fine or thin hair, these tips will be a lifesaver! Try em out and comment below!

Adopt an Attitude of Gratitude

Adopt an Attitude of Gratitude
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Chelsea-Crockett-Attitude.jpg

Hey insiders!

I hope your day started off with many blessings!  I know our lives are filled with too many blessings to count.  Even when we are going through tough times, I try to think of everything I’m thankful for.  After all, if you can see, hear, feel, eat, sleep, drink, and breathe, then you already have seven things to thank God for.  So many people are suffering from illnesses or abuse of

many kinds.  Therefore, I try to find the good in all situations! Chelsea Crockett - Thankfulness

Sometimes I complain and focus on the negatives.  But if I take a step back, I realize there are too many things to be thankful for and that complaining isn’t a way to thank God at all.  Literally, the list is endless.  To start off  write down 20 things you are thankful for.  Throughout each week, continue to list off every blessing you find throughout the days.

An attitude of gratitude is what creates joy and peace.  Fault finding, complaining, and grumbling are not very appealing.  Don’t you want to surround yourself with thankfulness, peace, and joy?  Well, the good news is you can!  Thanksgiving, praise, and gratitude are so powerful.  Give it a try!  Spend some time focusing on everything good in your life.  You might be

surprised at what you will find!

XOXO, Chelsea
