Spring Ruffles Fashion

Spring Ruffles Fashion
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-spring-ruffles-fashion.jpg

I was recently in Florida and noticed a fun spring fashion trend that I and am loving – ruffles! As it warms up in Illinois where I live, I have a feeling I will see this trend start popping up here at home. My favorite thing about this trend is the whimsical and fun flare. Here are a few of my favorite ruffle tops this season

  1. Cut out sleeves: This shirt is completely unique! I love the way it has the off-the-shoulder ruffles along with the tank top style sleeves. This would look so cute half-tucked into some white skinny jeans!

  2. Bell sleeves and beyond: This shirt has it all, from babydoll style ruffles on the bottom to frilly sleeves and a lace-up back. There is so much going on, and so much to love! I feel like this is a great fun and flowey top for girls days or date nights.

  3. Off-the-shoulder: This top takes off-the-shoulder to a whole new level because it has 2 layers of ruffles! It would look great half tucked into some skinny jeans or even paired with a fun summer skirt.

If you are looking to add some feminine, fun, flirty flare to your wardrobe this spring, I think these shirts are a great place to start!

How to Take Great Group Photos

How to Take Great Group Photos
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/FullSizeRender-15.jpg

Prom and graduation are here, and with both comes one thing…. group pictures! We have all had that awkward group-photo experience where everyone is confused about what they are supposed to be doing with their hands, if they should be squatting or standing, and “guys, are we smiling or are we being serious?” Here are a few tips on how to look fierce in every group pic.

  1. Get in sync: Not Insync, like the band, in sync like as in the same pose! One of the keys to a good group is to make sure you are all on the same page pose wise.

  2. Keep up the candids: I looooove candid pictures. They let your personality shine through! Just because it is graduation doesn’t mean you have to stand stiff and serious! Throw your hat, have a laugh, and hug your friends.

  3. Squat it out: Once you have mastered the “squad squat” you will never have trouble taking group pics again. When you need to fit a bunch of buds into one pic, file into a few rows, then squat your tush down.

  4. Pop a knee: An easy way to add some sass and attitude to a group pic is to do a little pop of the knee. A knee pop can actually help fit more people into the pic if you are standing diagonally!

Now go rock those group photos!

Travel Workout, No Equipment Required

Travel Workout, No Equipment Required
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-travel-workout-no-equipment-required.jpg

I have been traveling around a lot lately promoting my new book (YAY!), and I’ve noticed it is taking a toll on my fitness regimen. I like to workout and make it a point to exercise during the week, but my travels have thrown me off of my groove! I want to stay in shape while I travel, but sometimes hotels don’t have gyms or there is no equipment available. That is when it is important to have a workout like the one below up your sleeve! Here is a full body workout, no weights required.

50 jumping jacks

10 burpees

40 Russian twists

10 crunches

10 lunges (on each leg)

10 wide leg squats

30 vertical leg crunches

30 jumping jacks

10 tricep dips

10 squat jumps

10 pushups

25 bicycle crunches

50 jumping jacks

1 minute wall sit

Repeat 2-3 times

I guarantee if you do that two or three times in a row you will feel like you got a 5 star workout in. You didn’t even need to pick up a single weight!

Tips to Become a Better Writer

Tips to Become a Better Writer
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-tips-to-become-a-better-writer.jpg

To some people, writing is as easy as breathing. They can sit down at their desk, open their laptop, and crank out a fabulous paper. For others, it is not that simple. For those people who aren’t natural born writers, having to write a paper can be miserable! With the end of the semester approaching, there is a lot of paper writing looming. If you are someone who struggles with writing, here are a few tips that have helped me become a better writer.

  1. Stay organized: Once you know the topic you are supposed to write about and have researched it, organize a draft. Diagram out, using bullet points, what information will be in your intro, body paragraphs, and conclusion. This will help you during the writing process to see where you want to put what info so you don’t forget it! Or, if you are writing a blog, once you find your topic, figure out what you want your main points to be so you can focus your paper around them.

  2. Know your audience: Are you writing for a professor? For a group of peers? For a scholarship? Know who you are writing to! Is the paper supposed to be serious? Humorous? Informative? Know the tone of the paper as well. Once you know your audience and tone, you can use your wording in your paper to relate to your audience and communicate your point.

  3. Get feedback: It can be scary asking for feedback, even if it is just from your mom or from a friend, because it could mean rejection or they could have a lot of corrections and make you feel silly. But, the only way to improve is to get feedback about what you could be doing better!

  4. Read!: How are you supposed to know what good writing looks like if you don’t read? Become a reader. It will help you know what style of writing you like best, and will teach you how to become better!

Just like any skill, writing takes practice! Becoming a great writer is not impossible, and it is a great skill to have! You can do it!

It is so important to take care of ourselves, both physically and mentally. We may feel like we don’t have time for that, but we need to MAKE time for it. If we are mentally or physically unhealthy, it can have a huge impact on how we feel about ourselves and our happiness, and our quality of life. Here are a few easy ways to practice self-care.

Physical:

  • Go for a walk

  • Swim

  • Play with your pets

  • Take a bath

  • Go for a hike

  • Dance around your room like no one is watching

Mental:

  • Read a good book

  • Learn a new skill like drawing or photography

  • Color

  • Put your phone away

Emotional

Natural Ways to Keep Skin Clear

Natural Ways to Keep Skin Clear
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-natural-ways-to-keep-skin-clear.jpg

I recently did a video on YouTube about how I cleared my acne, have you seen it? If not, a quick recap is that I started using a product called “Curology” and I am absolutely in love! This acne prevention medication is custom tailored for your skin and monitored by a licensed dermatologist, so this will work with any skin type. But, for those of you who like to go the more all natural, DIY skincare route, I did a bit of research and found 4 at-home skincare tips to keep your skin clear!

  1. Incorporate coconut oil: I like to use a little coconut oil on my skin after my shower, just to keep my skin soft. It is also antibacterial, so it keeps your skin clean and clear.

  2. Exfoliate daily: Use an exfoliant such as a sugar scrub every day to keep your pores clear and skin smooth. Every-day exfoliation helps keep oil and gunk from building up on your skin and in your pores!

  3. Drink lots of water: Keeping yourself hydrated means keeping your skin hydrated! Staying hydrated helps your skin stay clear and moisturized.

  4. Change your pillowcase every/every other day. This keeps bacteria from building up and smothering your skin while you sleep!

If skin medicines aren’t your thing, try these healthy tips to keep acne away!

Tone Your Back in Time for Prom

Tone Your Back in Time for Prom
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-Tone-Your-Back-in-Time-for-Prom.jpg

If you are wearing a backless dress or a dress with some back showing for prom, then listen up! Today I am going to give you a few exercises to do that will help get your back toned and tight for prom! A lot of times we skip workout out our back and shoulders because we want to avoid getting “man shoulders” but these exercises aren’t meant to make you bulk up, they’re to tone. Plus, all you need is two dumbbells in your desired weight. I go for 5 pounders.

  1. Dumbbell shrugs: Grab a dumbbell in each hand and hold them down by your sides. Raise your shoulders as high as possible, meaning shrug them, and then lower them. Do these as many times as you want.

  2. Rocking plank: Get into your normal pushup plank position and then roll forward on your toes so they are pointed and flat on the floor. Then roll back to your starting position. The rocking motion is what tones up your back!

  3. Dumbbell front and side raise: This move works both your arms and your back. Score! Hold your dumbbells in both hands with your palms facing down. Make sure to keep your legs shoulder-width apart and to keep your elbows straight. Raise your arms in front of you, then out to the sides. Repeat until it burns!

  4. Side plank: These are great for sculpting your back as well as your side abs! If you don’t know how to do these, it is super simple. Just lay on your side, then push up on your forearm. Do for 30 seconds, then switch sides.

I can’t wait for prom, can you?!

4 Ways to Get Ready Faster in the Morning

4 Ways to Get Ready Faster in the Morning
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-4-Ways-to-Get-Ready-Faster-in-the-Morning.jpg

If you take advantage of every extra minute of sleep you can get, then you are like me and are always looking for ways to get ready faster in the morning to allow time to sleep in longer. Here are a few of my signature get-ready-faster tactics.

  1. Keep a pouch of essentials: Keep a small zipper pouch full of your daily essentials like gum, lip color, keys, mascara, and aspirin, that way if you switch purses or backpacks all you have to worry about is grabbing the pouch and you will know you have everything you need for the day.

  2. Document your outfits: When you find an outfit you like, take a picture of it before you leave for the day. That way, if you are ever out of outfit inspiration and are running late and can’t pick out an outfit for the day, you can go to your “outfits” folder on your phone and quickly see an ensemble that worked for you and then you can easily recreate it.

  3. Quick dry your hair: If you have time to wash your hair in the morning, don’t blow dry it right after your shower. Wrap it in an absorbent towel, go eat breakfast and get ready, then blow dry it. Blow drying your hair in a steamy bathroom can cause it to frizz up and also takes longer to dry. Waiting lets your bathroom air out.

  4. Dry shampoo before bed: This helps the dry shampoo soak up oils while you sleep and gives you clean looking/smelling hair in the morning! This saves you time because you don’t have to go wash your hair.

Essential Oil Face Scrub

Essential Oil Face Scrub
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-essential-oil-face-scrub.jpg

Exfoliation is key to clear skin. It makes your skin smooth, scrubs the dead skin off, and helps clear your pores! Today’s diy face wash is all natural and gives you all the benefits of a store bought exfoliant without the harsh chemicals. It combines baking soda (which is much less harsh on your skin than salt and sugar which are common exfoliants), coconut oil (which helps kill bacteria and decrease acne), and frankincense essential oil (which helps prevent wrinkles and regenerate healthy skin cells).

Instructions:

  • 1/3 cup baking soda

  • 5/10 drops frankincense oil

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

All you have to do is mix all of these ingredients together and store them in a container with a lid. That is it! To use it, gently rub a teaspoon or two into your skin using circular motions and then rinse off with warm water.

Exfoliation is key to healthy skin! Make this concoction part of your weekly routine to keep your skin glowing and clean.

XOXO, Chels

High-Waisted Swim Style

High-Waisted Swim Style
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-high-waisted-swim-style.jpg

There is a swimwear trend that has been coming up through the ranks the last few years and is finally making waves. It is high-waisted swimwear! I have a few suits in this style and am a huge fan because they slim my waist and disguise my thighs. Here are a few of my favorite high-waisted suits!

  1. Scalloped: Scalloped swimwear is so cute. It is feminine yet simple. I also think it has a classiness to it.

  2. Girly: Bring on the fun prints and ruffles! I love the peplum style of this top because it hides any belly that we may be uncomfortable showing. The bottoms are also a great statement piece, I love the colorful print!

  3. Unique: I love suits that are different from the norm. This top is just that! It is long sleeved, which is not typically what swim tops are. If you are going to a beach that is a little chilly or clowdy, then this is a great option. It is also a good option if you are trying to avoid sunburn. I love the retro flare of the stripes paired with the simple sleek black bottoms.

I am totally hopping on board with the high-waisted suit trend, are you?

No Bake Lemonade Cheesecake

No Bake Lemonade Cheesecake
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-no-bake-lemonade-cheesecake.jpg

There is just something about springtime that makes me crave lemonade. Today’s recipe is the perfect dessert to greet the spring and welcome warm weather. Hello no-bake lemonade cheesecake! This is a quick and easy sweet treat.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (5 ounces) evaporated milk

  • 1 box instant lemon pudding mix

  • 2 packages softened cream cheese

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • ¾ cup frozen lemonade concentrate

In a small bowl, whisk the evaporated milk and pudding mix together until smooth. In a separate medium bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar with an electric mixer until fluffy. Next, gradually beat in the lemonade concentrate. Add in the pudding mixture and beat until smooth. If you like traditional cheesecake, then crush some graham crackers and spread the crumbs in the bottom of your serving dishes. Then spoon the lemonade mixture into small serving dishes or jars. Refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours, then enjoy!

I love fresh recipes like this one. It is quick and simple, yet packs a lemony punch!

XOXO, Chels

Life Lessons From Psalm 23:6

Life Lessons From Psalm 23:6
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/life-lessons-from-psalm-23-6.jpg

Psalm 23:6 says “Why would I fear the future? For I am being pursued only by your goodness and unfailing love.”

That’s a good question. Why DO we fear the future? Is it because of the uncertainty of it? Is because we cannot control it? I think yes and yes.

But this verse asks us why we fear the future, because we are only pursued by God’s goodness and unfailing love. Sometimes in our lives, we may feel like God’s goodness has passed over us, like He may have forgotten to send a little goodness our way. Are you still alive? Are you wearing clothes? Are you living under a roof? Then God is good. And even if none of those things are true, God is still good. You are pursued by God’s unfailing love, which means that no matter what you do in this life, no matter how many mistakes you make or how big your sins, He still loves you.

Now THAT is unfailing love.

Cool-Weather Spring Style

Cool-Weather Spring Style
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-Cool-Weather-Spring-Style.jpg

Where I live, spring is an awkward time between winter and summer where it is cold in the mornings, and steamy in the evenings, so it is so hard to pick out what to wear! You don’t want to be cold in the morning, but you also don’t want to be hot in the afternoon. Here are a few winter to spring transitional outfits that I have found do the trick.

  1. Shorts and a sweater: Your legs may be a little chilly in the morning, but your arms and torso are nice and cozy. Then, in the afternoon, you can shed the sweater and be perfectly comfortable!

  2. Sundress and a jean jacket: Again, your legs may be a bit chilly in the morning, but come afternoon you will be sitting pretty. I love the look of pairing spring sundresses with jean jackets. It gives a casual feel to an otherwise dressy outfit.

  3. Skinnies and an oversized sweater: If you are totally against the idea of your legs being a bit chilly in the A.M., then grab your favorite pair of ripped jeans, a short-sleeved tee, and an oversized cardigan. Once the day warms up, shed the cardigan and you will still be stylin’.

What is your favorite spring ensemble?

Do’s and Don’ts of Coachella

Do’s and Don’ts of Coachella
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Chelsea-Crockett-Coachella.jpg

Coachella: one of the world’s largest music festivals in the history of EVER!  I was lucky enough to get to go and experience it myself last year and lemme tell ya… it was incredible!  Since I was a first-timer, I learned some things that I would and wouldn’t do again.  Here are a few Coachella do’s and don’ts!

DO’S

  • Do drink plenty of water!  Since you’ll be in the middle of a 100-degree weather desert, you’re going to get very hot, very fast.  Staying hydrated will keep you refreshed and happy!

  • Do keep your phone plenty charged.  If you ever do get separated from your friends, you’ll need to be able to find them!  You’ll also be taking plenty of pics and videos… I mean, it is Coachella!

  • Do stay well rested and well fed.  You’ll enjoy Coachella 10x more if you have a full stomach and plenty of sleep!

DON’TS

  • Don’t get lost from your friends. Chelsea Crockett - Coachella Outfit In a festival filled with thousands and thousands of people, it’s easy to get separated from your group.  That being said, it can be extremely hard to find them again, especially if your phone service isn’t the greatest.  Stay close to them or have a buddy system!

  • Don’t dress uncomfortably.  Now I know Coachella is known for the stylish festival outfits, but you can be both cute and comfy such as the picture on the right!  You’ll be outside in the sun and walking around all day so dress accordingly (especially with the right shoes!).

  • Don’t last-minute plan.  It’s one of the biggest, and not to mention most crowded, festivals of the year… PLAN AHEAD!

Coachella will be one of the best experiences of your life, hands down!  Have fun and take these do’s and don’ts into consideration!

XOXO – Chelsea

Mac "N Cheese In a Mug

Mac "N Cheese In a Mug
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-mac-n-cheese-in-a-mug.jpg

The weather where I live is pretty unpredictable. One day it will be a gorgeous warm day, and the next it is freezing and rainy. And when the weather is cold, there is nothing better than a nice hot snack to warm your tummy right up. If you are looking for an easy, 5 minute meal for one, then look no further! Here is mac n cheese in a mug.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup elbow noodles

  • ½ cup milk or water (milk if you want creamy noodles)

  • ½ cup finely shredded cheddar cheese

Add the milk/water and noodles to an oversized mug and place it on a large plate just in case you have spillage while it is in the microwave. Microwave the mug on the plate for 1 minute, then stir, and microwave another minute. Stir it again, then check your noodles. If they aren’t quite done, microwave them an additional 3o seconds. After the noodles are cooked, if you are using water, pour out the water that is left, and if you are using milk don’t pour it out. Add in the cheese and stir well. Now you are ready to dig in!

So, if you want some yummy comfort food but don’t want to make the whole box, make your own mug!

XOXO, Chels

Rice Krispie Easter Eggs

Rice Krispie Easter Eggs
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-rice-krispie-easter-eggs.jpg

What is your favorite Easter treat? Is it Robin’s Eggs? Jello salad? Peeps? Mine would have to be Rice Krispies Easter Eggs. They are easy to snack on and a big hit at my family’s Easter gatherings. Here is how to make my favorite Easter indulgence!

Ingredients:

  • Rice Krispies cereal

  • Mini marshmallows

  • Butter

  • Food coloring

To make your eggs different colors you will need to make 4 different batches of Rice Krispie mixture. For each separate batch, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 cups of mini marshmallows in a medium sized pan over medium heat. Stir it constantly until the marshmallows are completely melted, then add a few drops of food coloring and mix it in well. Turn the stove off, then add 2 cups of Rice Krispies cereal, mixing it in well. Let it sit for 4-5 minutes, then slather your hands in butter. Make sure they are nice and greasy to keep the marshmallow from sticking to you, then grab a handful of the treat mixture and form it into an Easter egg shape. Let the eggs cool on wax paper, then serve or store in an airtight container until you are ready to serve them.

I love this easy, yummy Easter treat. What is your favorite Easter sweet?

Ways to Wear Gingham for Every Occasion

Ways to Wear Gingham for Every Occasion
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/1ff75021812da9e23fd80eac6ca2fe63-2.jpg

Gingham is the classic picnic print. It is a great spring and summer pattern, not just for picnicking in the park! You can find many ways to wear this classic print for every occasion. Here are a few ways I have found!

  1. On a date: Pair a fun and flirty gingham top with some simple skinnies and a cute purse. The top will give a touch of your feminine side, whereas the jeans keep it low-key.

  2. To the beach: I am obsessed with gingham swimwear! It is so vintage and fun. I happen to own this suit! I love the high-waisted bottoms that help slim my hips. And the off-the-shoulder sleeves of the top add some extra style to the ensemble.

  3. For girl’s day: A fun dress is a must for a girls day out! Grab a fun and flowy dress like the one pictured and get ready to hang with your gals. I love the ruffled shoulders and synched waist of this look. It is so girly and sweet!

  4. At the office: Keep it classy at the office by wearing a gingham shirt tucked into a skirt. I love this look because it is just a touch of preppy.

  5. Out shopping: Rompers are one of my favorite spring and summer pieces, so obviously a gingham romper makes the list! This romper is cozy, cute, and completely classy. You can take this look from shopping to picnic to date as easy as pie. So versatile!

  6. Lounging around: Keep it cozy with a pair of cotton gingham shorts. I love this pair because of the tie-waist. It really gives off a fun retro vibe, don’t you think?

Gingham is a timelessly classy look. Do you have a favorite picnic-patterned piece? Comment below!

Life Lessons from an 80-Year-Old

Life Lessons from an 80-Year-Old
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Chelsea-Crockett-Life-Lessons.png

As teenagers, we still have so much life left to live.  I’ve always wondered how people at the end of their lives feel looking back on their own lives.  Are they filled with happiness?  Or regret and unfulfillment?  I found a post online that listed a few life lessons from an 80-year-old.  I found them inspiring and wanted to share some of them!

  • Look people in the eye.” Eye contact is important and the ability to have that is a good quality to have!  It tells people that you’re really interested in the conversation.  This is something our generation needs to learn how to do!

  • “Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.”  I’ve always loved the quote, “be the person you want to meet.”  We should all strive to be the best person we can be!

  • “Make it a habit to do nice things for people who will never find out.” Doing something nice for someone is easy, but doing it without getting any recognition is what we can often struggle with.  Try it sometime!

  • “Loosen up. Relax. Nothing is as important as it first seems.”  I live by this advice!  It is so important to let go of things and know that you’re probably stressing over nothing anyway.

  • “Be bold and courageous.”  There’s a verse in the Bible that says the same thing.  Take risks and get out of your comfort zone!  Life’s too short to let opportunities pass you by.

What lessons have you learned so far throughout your life?  Share with me below!

Love, Chelsea

Do you ever wonder what to do with old toothbrushes after you are done using them? I always feel like throwing them away is such a waste. Once you disinfect them, they are a super useful beauty tool! Here are 5 ways to re-purpose that old tooth brush to assist you in your beauty routine.

  1. Tame flyaways: Spray the bristles of the toothbrush and then use it to smooth any flyaway hairs. You can also do this to fix your eyebrows!

  2. Lip exfoliator: Before you put on lip balm, use the brush to scrub the dead skin off of your lips!

  3. Tease your hair: Use the toothbrush to tease your hair. Keep it in your purse to have a teasing brush on the go!

  4. Clean under nails and your cuticles: Use your old toothbrush to get the prettiest and cleanest nails on the block.

  5. De-clump mascara: After you apply mascara, use the toothbrush to separate your lashes.

Can you think of any other ways to use an old toothbrush in your beauty routine? Comment them below!

Studying for Finals? Here are Some Tips.

Studying for Finals? Here are Some Tips.
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-Studying-for-Finals-Here-are-Some-Tips..jpg

Believe it or not, final exams are just around the corner! What is your studying game plan? To succeed you need to have a plan of attack. Here are the measures I take to make sure I am prepared to dominate my midterms, or any sort of exams for that matter!

  1. Dress for success: Keep it cozy. There is nothing more distracting that an itchy sweater or too-tight pants. I always opt for comfortable combo like yoga pants and cozy over sized sweater. When you are studying, you want to be comfortable.

  2. Put away distractions: Silence your phone, turn off the radio or TV, let yourself study in silence!

  3. Snack healthy: Prepare yourself for studying by snacking on things that give you healthy energy and keep you fuller longer.

  4. Take breaks: Experts say that if you get up and walk around every hour you are studying it helps you concentrate more. During your hour break, give yourself a reward like 5 minutes on social media.

  5. DON’T CRAM: Do not not NOT cram the night before a test! Study in bits the week before the exam. It will help you feel more prepared and less panicked!

Good luck, you will kill those exams!

Secrets of Stylish Women

Secrets of Stylish Women
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-secrets-of-stylish-women.jpg

With everything going on in our lives, from school to work and everything in between, being stylish every day can seem like a tall order. Do you ever look at your favorite bloggers on Instagram and think “How in the world do they look so stylish EVERY DAY?!” I found a few of their secrets on how to look put-together at all times.

  1. Plan things out: You, of course, can’t plan for everything, but just like you try and plan your schedule out at the beginning of the week, try to do that with your outfits. I plan my outfits out ahead so my mornings are stress-free.

  2. Follow stylish women: I follow 4 or 5 really awesome style bloggers (Julia Engel, Cara Loren, and Amber Fillerup being my top 3). I really love their style and use their Instagram photos as inspiration for my outfits. I also follow boutiques like MOD that show outfit pairing examples.

  3. Invest in outfit staples: These are the basic fashion pieces that are the foundations of fashionable choices. If you are going to buy an item that you know you will pair with a lot of things, make sure it fits right, and invest in things that you know will last and that won’t quickly go out of style.

  4. Accessorize always: Try to have at least one accessory on, whether it is a statement necklace or a cute pair of earrings. It can even be a piece of jewelry that you wear with everything. I have a necklace and some bangle bracelets that I wear almost every day. They are my “staples” and go with everything. They instantly make me more stylish.

If your goal is to be a stylish gal, then these secrets are for you! There are some days when I am stylish, and others when I feel like bumming it, and that is perfectly fine. Style is an individual thing, and everyone’s style is different! Embrace it and have fun with it.

Blueberry Muffin Smoothie

Blueberry Muffin Smoothie
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-Blueberry-Muffin-Smoothie.jpg

I recently had a crazy craving for blueberry muffins. I really didn’t want to go to my kitchen and slave over a hot oven to make a batch, so I opted to make a smoothie inspired by my craving! This smoothie is sweet, thick, and tastes just like a blueberry muffin. Yes please!

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

  • 4 – 6oz vanilla Greek yogurt

  • ½ cup frozen blueberries

  • ½ frozen banana

  • ¼ cup raw oats

  • ¼ tsp. lemon zest

  • ½ cup ice cubes

Add all the ingredients into a blender and blend until very smooth (or about 2 minutes). Then enjoy! This is way easier than making actual muffins. Plus, it is so much healthier!

Exercises That Burn More Calories Than Jogging

Exercises That Burn More Calories Than Jogging
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/chelsea-crockett-Exercises-That-Burn-More-Calories-Than-Jogging.jpg

You may have your weekly exercise routine down to a science, or you may switch it up every day to keep things interesting. For me, variety is key! I love to jog, but it can get repetitive and mundane if that is all you do. Here are a few exercises to help mix up your routine that burn more calories than a 3-mile jog.

  1. Swimming: I know this option isn’t available to everyone, but if you can find a YMCA or gym with a pool you should take advantage! Swimming is so great for you because the resistance of the water gives you a full-body workout.

  2. Jumping rope: Not only is jumping rope fun, it is also a high-energy activity that burns calories quickly. Turn on some tunes and jump rope to the rhythm of the songs!

  3. Rock climbing: There is bound to be a rock climbing gym around where you live, and if not there are usually walls at your local YMCA or even at most college rec centers! Rock climbing creates spikes of intense exercise followed by short breaks, which means it burns mega calories. It is also a huge confidence boost and gives you a sense of pride when you conquer the wall!

If you are looking to mix up your workout routine, try mixing in a few of these fun activities.
