It is almost Valentine’s Day (yay!), and I am sure those of you who have honeys are trying to think of date ideas. You could do the normal Valentine’s Day routine of dinner and a movie, OR you could have a super fun, cute date that you will never forget! Here are 3 adorable date ideas for this Valentine’s Day.

1. Indoor picnic: where I live, it is hardly picnic weather. It is too cold for that! As a fun alternative, have an inside picnic! Make PB&J sandwiches or finger foods, lay out a blanket, and have a fun little picnic in the living room.
2. Waffle bar: have a waffle bar dinner! Lay out a bunch of waffle toppings like fresh fruit, whipped cream, chocolate chips, syrup, and jelly! Make waffles together and then top them with all of your favorites.
3. Ice skate date: the best part about ice skating is getting to hold hands with your honey! Bundle up and head to the skating rink for a fun night of slipping, falling, and laughing at and with one another!

Let’s face it. As high school students, we aren’t exactly made of money. So, when it comes to dates, we have to be a little stingy. But just because we aren’t rolling in the dough doesn’t mean we can’t have super awesome, super romantic dates! Here are a few awesomely affordable date ideas for you and your honey this Valentine’s Day.

1. Cook dinner together: Going out to dinner can get pricy, so why not cook your very own feast! You two would have so much fun in the kitchen laughing and joking around, plus you can enjoy the fruits of your labor together!


2. Have a game night: Game nights are seriously the best. Don’t underestimate the power of Monopoly! You two will have so much fun seeing each other’s competitive side!


3. A night out: There are so many free/cheap things to do around your town, I guarantee it! Go ice skating, to a museum or exhibit that is “love” themed, go on a walk through the park, stuff like that! Just being together will make Valentine’s Day special.

1. Have an indoor campout: Build a blanket fort, roast marshmallows over candles, and watch a movie under the fort! Sounds like a blast to me.


2. Go ice skating: holding hands and slipping all over the ice together is the best way to have a good laugh with each other.

4. Play board games and eat junk food


5. Have a hot chocolate party with friends: have each person bring a different kind of hot chocolate to the party. You will all have a blast trying out new flavors and enjoying sweet hot chocolate!

Are you a little strapped for cash, but long to go on fun dates with your boo thang? Most high school and college kids don’t have money to throw around, so when you find a way to save money and still have fun, you take it! Here are 5 super fun date ideas that are totally free and totally awesome.

1. Make a blanket fort: Let the inner child in you break free! If the weather isn’t ideal, stay indoors, grab a few blankets, and make a blanket fort! You will both have a blast trying to assemble it, and you can even bring your laptop in there with you to watch a movie in your blanket fort!


2. Buy flowers or balloon and give them to random people who need cheering up: Okay, so this one isn’t quite free, but the impact you will make on people’s day is priceless. Run to the dollar store, pick up some balloons and flowers and hand them out to people who are looking down in the dumps. You both will be so happy when you see the looks on people’s faces when you bless their day.


3. Do touristy things in your own city: A lot of people don’t really explore their home town, which is a shame! Take a free trolley tour, grab a free city map and explore, or research free attractions in your city!


4. Make a bucket list together: The items you come up with don’t even have to be things that you want to do with each other, but a bucket list can also be a great way to come up with new date ideas! And, you will learn a lot about each other’s hopes and dreams.
