Frozen Hot Chocolate

I love a good glass of hot chocolate. The only down side to craving hot cocoa in the summer time is that drinking it will probably give you a heat stroke. We don’t want that! And so, I give you a great alternative to sizzle your chocolate craving. Frozen hot chocolate! There is a restaurant in NYC, Serendipity, that is famous for their frozen hot chocolate! This is their recipe:
Ingredients:
- 6 half-ounce pieces of a variety of your favorite chocolates
- 2 teaspoons store-bought hot chocolate mix
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 3 cups ice
Chop your chocolate into small pieces and melt it in a sauce pan. Stir it occasionally until it is melted and then add the cocoa and sugar. Stir the mixture until it is blended thoroughly. Remove from heat and slowly add 1/2 cup of the milk and stir until smooth. Cool to room temperature. In a blender, place the remaining cup of milk, the room-temperature chocolate mixture, and the ice. Blend on high-speed until the mixture is smooth. Pour it into your favorite cup and viola, heaven is served!
