Navy and white are two of my favorite summer colors. Worn in stripes, they’re even cuter! Here are a few of my favorite navy striped pieces for the summertime. If you are looking for classic, nautical style inspiration, look no further.

1. Blouses: Striped shirts never go out of style. This summer, wear them tucked into jean shorts for a casual retro look. I love the red and blue stripe combo on this shirt, very patriotic and very classic! This is a great casual, everyday outfit.


2. Shorts: Striped shorts are making a comeback this season! The pair below are from my favorite boutique, MOD. They make me feel like I am about to hop on a sailboat and take off. Very cute and classy. This is a great outfit for going out with the gals for brunch or even a day of shopping!


3. Dresses: There is something about a striped dress that just draws me to it. I love them! I love wearing dresses in the summertime to stay cool and comfy. The southern flare of this dress is too cute, with the bell sleeves and cinched waist. This is a great date night ensemble.

I am a big fan of nautical fashion, especially in the spring time. It is so fresh and crisp! My favorite local boutique, MOD, has some super cute nautical pieces that I am loving, so that is what inspired this blog post! Here are my favorite nautical inspired looks this spring.

1. Sweet and easy: An easy and feminine nautical inspired outfit
   
   is a navy and striped t-shirt dress layered under a cute long cardigan. I love wearing dresses at every opportunity, so this is one of my favorite options. The sweater keeps you warm on chilly spring days, while the dress lets you feel like summer is on the way. Pair with cute rain boots on a rainy spring day!


2. Cute and cozy: For a simple yet stylish look, pair some white skinny jeans with a blue shirt and a long navy cardigan. The mixture of white and blue gives you a nautical flare, and the simple pairings are both cute and comfy.


3. Fun and flirty: Where I live, spring can mean both warm AND cool temperatures. This outfit accomidates both! Grab your favorite pair of jean shorts and pair them with a long-sleeved, striped tee. Slip on a pair of white Converse sneakers and you are set!

If you live in or have ever visited the east coast, then you know what the nautical look is!  Cape Cod, famous for its nautical atmosphere, is buzzing with this style!  Sailor shorts, stripes, anchors, and colors of the sea are all part of the look!  Even if you don’t live in that part of the country, that’s okay!  Check out how you can bring the nautical style to your closet!

The stripe is the first and foremost most important part of going nautical.  Whether it’s a striped dress, shirt, or shorts, this pattern must be incorporated into your outfit.  One of my favorite ways to wear stripes is to pair a navy striped shirt with white or red shorts.  These colors scream nautical and it’s the simplest way to obtain the look!  If you want to try something bolder, grab a pair of sailor shorts and pair it with an open button up or striped tee.  Looking effortless is what it’s all about!

An open scarf and fedora hat are also key pieces.  Try a pair of white skinny jeans paired with a red, navy, or yellow top.  Complete the look by throwing on a fedora and a scarf draped around your neck.  Keep the colors neutral or, once again, try stripes.

The nautical look, with a few key pieces, is easy to obtain!  Shock all of your friends this summer with an effortless, nautical ensemble!
