How to: Rock a Statement Color!

Color is something you can have fun with. Whether you like pinks and reds or blues and greens, you can add a little pop to your outfit by simply rocking a statement color! Sometimes this can be a bright lipstick or a not-so-ordinary hair color. Either way, finding what looks best and how to pull it off can be tough! Here’s a little guide I like to follow :).

• Sometimes I wake up in the edgy mood to rock combat boots and a flannel button up. Other times I want to dress a little preppy and girly! All shades of pink give off a flirty vibe and go well with almost any skin tone or hair color. One of my favorite looks is a rose pink dress accented with white or silver accessories. If you’re more of a hot pink kind of girl, try throwing on a pair of bright heels or a daring lipstick!


• On the total opposite end, all black everything can be a statement in itself. You might be thinking it’s too dark for your personality or that you won’t be able to pull it off… Think again! An outfit like the one on the right is simple and chic. Give it a try!


• Red is a color almost every girl wants to be able to pull off. To do so, you can’t be afraid to totally rock it! Red lipstick, a red dress, or even red, auburn highlights has only one secret to pulling them off. Be confident! I promise, you’ll turn heads!

2014 was a year full of fun, stylish trends. Whether it was a crop set outfit with a pair of knee-high boots or edgy DIY shorts and converse, this year’s trends are sure to top even the cutest of 2014. So, what’s going to be hot (or not!) in the New Year? Here are a few predictions made by fashion magazines and icons across the planet!

According to Vogue, suede should be making a killer comeback! This material is different from most, with its warm, fuzzy cloth. It has a vintage look to it that’s classy and mature like the jacket on the left! Another look that is expected to pop up in the spring, is dark denim. Jean, jean, and more jean! Keep an eye out and you might just notice it in every fashion magazine :)!

Indy style was huge last year. Now the Bohemian style is making its mark! Colorful patterns and bright colors are great for the summer. Layering jewelry such as dangle necklaces and bracelets is another fashion statement brought from 2014 to ’15. So cute!

According to Glamour, one-shoulder shirts and dresses are coming back into the fashion world for spring and summer. Soon they’ll be in almost any store at the mall :)! Colors such as army green and yellow are both expected to be seen on the runways throughout the year.

So… pay attention to your fashion magazines and style blogs and you might just see these trends when you least expect it!
