Fall Olive Green Style

Fall Olive Green Style
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/chelsea-crockett-olive-green-style.jpg

Olive green is one of those colors that looks good on everyone. It is also one of fall’s favorite hues! Olive green pairs well with many colors, and is a more exciting neutral than tan or brown. Here are my favorite ways to mix and match olive green into my autumn outfits.

  1. Layered with a vest: This is the most subtle way to wear olive green. You can layer an olive vest over a patterned button-up for a classic fall look. You can take it off if you get too warm, which is what happens most of the time where I live. Fall mornings are chilly, but the afternoons get warm. A vest gives your outfit a casual yet preppy feel.

  2. Cozy in a cardigan: I love a long cardigan. My favorite are the ones that are long enough to hit at your knees. They are slimming and make me look taller! Pair a long olive cardigan with a light-colored sweater and brown boots for a neutral, understated yet stylish look.

  3. Time for a turtle neck: In the last few years turtle necks have really made a comeback. Not only do they keep you cozy and warm, they are also stylish! Pair an olive green turtle neck sweater with a black leather jacket and ripped black skinny jeans for an edgy, fun fall look.

Happy fall, y’all!

Fall Plaid Style

Fall Plaid Style
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/chelsea-crockett-fall-plaid-style.jpg

Plaid: Fall’s favorite pattern. You can wear it many ways, with many layers, and in many color combinations! Sometimes, with all those options, it can get a little overwhelming. To simplify styling plaid this Fall, I’ll give you my 3 favorite ways to wear it.

  1. Layered: One plaid shirt can be worn in so many ways. It can be worn under a sweater, cardigan, vest, army jacket, and so on. You can tone down the pattern by layering it under things, or let it be the centerpiece of the outfit by wearing it by itself.

  2. Accessorized: Plaid scarves are timeless and go with just about anything! You can drape a plaid blanket scarf around your shoulders to keep you warm, and can wear a pair of plaid gloves to add accent to any fall ensemble.

  3. Statement: Make a plaid piece the statement item of your outfit. I love a cute plaid skirt with a simple top and riding boots. The pattern doesn’t overwhelm the outfit and gives it the perfect amount of “pop.”

I am ready to rock some plaid this Fall!

Fall Athileisure Style

Fall Athileisure Style
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/chelsea-crockett-fall-athileisure-style.jpg

Athleisure is a trend that I am loving. Athleisure is casual clothing like yoga pants, sweat pants, and pullovers that are designed to be worn for both exercising and style. So, they are athletic clothes that are both trendy and functional, meaning you can wear them to the gym and then to the grocery store and look stylin’ while doing both. This trend is both comfy and cute, so I am ready to hop on board. This sounds like great “college wear.” Here are 3 athleisure looks to try this fall and winter.

  1. Super casual: In this style we see workout leggings paired with a loose tank top layered under a simple pullover. The outfit is finished off with some slip-on sneakers. I like this look because it is effortless and really casual, but it is also comfy and can be worn out and about.

  2. Cute and comfy: This next look pairs workout leggings with some Hunter boots, and white long-sleeve tee layered under a cute thermal pullover and puffy vest. This style is really preppy and cute while also being comfy and practical. It is great for days that start out cold but warm up as the day goes on because you can shed layers.

  3. Trendy and effortless: This next look is the most complex, but is also my personal favorite. This look pairs some workout leggings with awesome textured patches on the knees, a white long-sleeve tee, and a green army jacket with an infinity scarf to top it off. The tennis shoes keep the outfit athletic while the army jacket takes it to a more “street-worthy” state.

I love outfits that I can wear straight from the gym to run errands, or just to be comfy while I’m out and about! Athletic clothes can be dressed up in so many ways to make them more “outfit” ready. Who says comfy can’t also be cute?

Upcoming Winter Trends 2017

Upcoming Winter Trends 2017
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Chelsea-Crockett-Winter-Trends.jpg

I like to stay up-to-date with the latest trends so I know what’re the next most fashionable and stylish things I should have in my closet!  This upcoming winter, there are a few different trends that I think stand out among the rest, and are so, so cute!  Here are a few trends you’ll need to take note of for the next few months! 🙂

  • Double Denim.  Denim is one of my favorite things to rock, whether it be a denim jacket, boyfriend jeans, a denim dress, etc.  It’s a timeless trend that has been around for decades, and now you can rock denim times two!  🙂

  • Knit.  When I think of knit, I think of bundling up in a knit sweater during the cold months!  This winter, knit sweaters, ponchos, cardigans, etc. are going to be the perfect way to keep warm and stay fashionable.

  • Business Casual.  Certain styles and trends allow you to loosen up and dress down which I love, but this winter, business casual looks are coming back into play!  Things like blazers, collared shirts, and toned down colors are making their statement this year.

  • Sportswear.  I love trends that allow me to dress comfy and casual, but still look just as stylish.  Sportswear, or street style, has been in the fashion world for a while, and it’s not going away anytime soon!  Pull out your leggings, sneakers, and a graphic tee, and you’re good to go!

Which trend is your favorite?  Have you heard of any other upcoming winter trends?  Share them with me below! 🙂

How to Wear Skinnies with Ankle Boots

How to Wear Skinnies with Ankle Boots
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/chelsea-crockett-How-to-Wear-Skinnies-with-Ankle-Boots.jpg

Hip hip hooray for ankle boot season! Ankle boots are a breed of boots that look best with a specific style of jeans: skinny jeans. Knee boots can be paired with a plethora of jean styles, but skinny jeans work best with our beloved ankle booties. Here are my tips on how to wear/style ankle booties this season.

  1. Flat and fabulous: Most of the ankle booties I own have a bit of a heal to them, but I am really digging the flat bottomed bootie this season! It is subtle and simple. Pair flat ankle booties with skinnies, a patterned button up shirt, and a leather jacket for a stylish, easy ensemble.skinnies

  2. Roll it, don’t scrunch it: Rather than shoving the hem of jeans that are too long into your boots, roll the cuffs! This is a cute alternative to letting them bunch or awkwardly pop out of the tops of your boots. If your favorite jeans have a bit of a flare to them at the bottom, just roll ‘em up!

  3. Be aware of your hemline: This goes for all booties. As a rule of thumb, make sure the hem of your jeans hit about an inch above your ankle. This ensures your jeans are at the perfect length to show of those cute booties!

What are your favorite ways to style ankle booties this season?

Summer Blues

Summer Blues
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/chelsea-crockett-summer-blues.jpg

To me, the colors blue and white spell out classic summer style. They are crisp, clean, and fresh. Everything summer fashion should be!

  1. Sweet sundress: I love a sweet summer sundress. Especially a blue and white one! They are classy and cute. They also help keep you cool and breezy. This dress is a great piece to wear on a date.

  2. Fun romper: Rompers are great summer pieces because you don’t have to try and match shorts to a shirt! It is all one piece! I love this blue and white one because it reminds me of something you would wear for a day on the coast.

  3. Cute shorts: Blue and white striped shorts are a fun nautical summer accessory. Pair with a white shirt for a crisp, classy summer look.

What are your favorite ways to wear blue this summer?

Modest but Hottest Trends of the Summer

Modest but Hottest Trends of the Summer
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Chelsea-Crockett-Modest-Trends.png

In our society, modesty is something that’s considered “weird” or “non-fashionable.”  So many girls think it’s overrated and a forgotten way of the past.  But there are actually so many fashionable looks and outfits that you can rock all summer long!  After all, modest is hottest, right? :)

  • One-piece swimsuits.  If you haven’t already seen the hundreds of girls rocking one pieces on the beach or at the pool, then I’m here to tell you that they’ve made a major comeback!  Almost every brand that offers swimsuits now sells stylish one pieces that are fashionable and trendy yet comfortable and modest!

  • Midi-skirts.  I know for me, it’s hard to find a skirt that fits me just right yet isn’t super short.  Midi-skirts are the perfect exception!  Chelsea Crockett - Collared ShirtYou can dress them up or dress them down with heels, wedges, accessories, etc.  If you find the right shirt, you can create the perfect trendy look!

  • Long Overalls.  Like I’ve mentioned in plenty other articles, overalls are back!  You can buy them in the classic jean material or find them in different colors anywhere from black to light pink.  They give off a retro look that’s both modest and super trendy!

  • Collared Shirts.  Now I’m not saying you have to rock a buttoned-up polo, but loose fitting collared shirts are so in and so cute!  Pair them with jeans and wedges to create the perfect beachy look.  Take the outfit on the right for example!

Which modest trend is your favorite?  I love all of them!  Let me know which one you rock the most below!

Shorts Overalls Style

Shorts Overalls Style
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/chelsea-crockett-Shorts-Overalls-Style.jpg

This summer I want to go a little bit out of my box when it comes to style. I want to explore my personal style and then branch out and try new things and see if I like them. My first new style try is shorts overalls. Here are 3 things I love about this trend.

  1. Its easy: Literally all you need for this outfit is the overalls and a shirt and shoes to go with it. It is an easy running errands outfit or going to a casual summer breakfast with friends or heading to the zoo for the day.

  2. Its adorable: I think this style is stinkin adorable. It gives you a girlish flare and pulls on your inner kid.

  3. Its versatile: You can wear these with a short sleeved shirt, a crop top, a slouchy sweater, you can layer a shirt under and a sweater over, you can wear them with a tank top, over a swim suit, so many options!!

If you are looking to go out of the box this summer, try on a pair of shorts overalls for size.

Summer Bandana Style

Summer Bandana Style
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/chelsea-crockett-summer-bandana-style.jpg

Bandanas are making a comeback this spring and summer, and I couldn’t be more excited. There are so many timeless ways to wear bandanas, from in your hair, to around your neck, to accessorizing your handbag! Bandanas are super cheap and are sold everywhere from fancy clothing boutiques to your neighborhood Walmart, making this trend affordable AND adorable. Here are a few of my favorite looks sporting bandanas this spring and summer.

  1. In the hair: Wearing your hair up in a ponytail or a bun can get old, so why not spice it up with a bandana? It will give you a fun, western vibe and will keep your hair out of your face and off your neck on warm summer days.

  2. Around your neck: Chokers are making a comeback, and bandanas are a great way to ease yourself into the trend. They are a classic fashion statement that has been worn throughout the years. Your mom probably wore them around her neck when she was your age! They give any outfit a dash of color and a pop of style.

  3. On your handbag: Tying a simple bandana around the handle of your handbag takes it up a notch. If you carry a simple handbag and are wearing a more muted outfit, knotting a colored bandana around the handle gives your outfit some character AND a pop of color!

These simple ways to incorporate bandanas into your summer wardrobe. What are your favorite ways to wear bandanas?

Spring Rain Coat Style

Spring Rain Coat Style
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/chelsea-crockett-summer-rain-coat-style.jpg

Spring showers don’t just bring May flowers, they bring, well, rain! I use every rainy day as an excuse to try out my rainy day outfits. Rain coats are no longer just a way to stay dry, they are also a fashion statement! Here are 3 of my favorite rain coat styles.

  1. Feminine: This coat is so cute – it has a fun feminine flare with the flowy back and blush color.

  2. Colorful: I love statement rain coats like this one. The color is so adorable, and it is a classic fashion statement. Very East Coast! This coat takes a simple outfit to the next level.

  3. Iridescent: This coat is the most fun rain coat! It’s iridescent coloring is so unique and is a cool way to rock your own personal style.

Rainy days don’t stand a chance against these adorable jackets!

Spring Denim Style

Spring Denim Style
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/chelsea-crockett-spring-denim-style.jpg

Denim is one of the most versatile textiles in your wardrobe. You can rock it in the fall, winter, spring, summer, it is a year-round fashion statement! Today we are going to focus on springtime denim. There are a few denim clad looks I am rocking this spring that I think you will dig! Here they are!

  1. Frayed ankle jeans: I picked up a pair of these babies at MOD the other day, and I am in love. I love the unique look of having frayed ankles instead of the usual hemmed ones. I like pairing these with ankle booties and a fun flowy top.

  2. Denim babydoll dresses: If you are in search of a way to wear denim that has a feminine flair, look no further! Denim babydoll dresses are the perfect solution. Find one with elbow or long sleeves to keep you warm during chilly spring days, and pair it with a felt floppy hat and suede booties for a super sweet ensemble!

  3. Classic jean jacket: I wear my jean jacket alllll the time. They are so versatile, you can dress them up, dress them down, and everything in between! If you want a nautical, East coast vibe, pair some white jeans with a striped shirt and denim jacket. Easy, effortless, and awfully stylish. Denim jackets even go with dresses!

Have fun dressing up your denim this spring!

Do’s and Don’ts of Coachella

Do’s and Don’ts of Coachella
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Chelsea-Crockett-Coachella.jpg

Coachella: one of the world’s largest music festivals in the history of EVER!  I was lucky enough to get to go and experience it myself last year and lemme tell ya… it was incredible!  Since I was a first-timer, I learned some things that I would and wouldn’t do again.  Here are a few Coachella do’s and don’ts!

DO’S

  • Do drink plenty of water!  Since you’ll be in the middle of a 100-degree weather desert, you’re going to get very hot, very fast.  Staying hydrated will keep you refreshed and happy!

  • Do keep your phone plenty charged.  If you ever do get separated from your friends, you’ll need to be able to find them!  You’ll also be taking plenty of pics and videos… I mean, it is Coachella!

  • Do stay well rested and well fed.  You’ll enjoy Coachella 10x more if you have a full stomach and plenty of sleep!

DON’TS

  • Don’t get lost from your friends. Chelsea Crockett - Coachella Outfit In a festival filled with thousands and thousands of people, it’s easy to get separated from your group.  That being said, it can be extremely hard to find them again, especially if your phone service isn’t the greatest.  Stay close to them or have a buddy system!

  • Don’t dress uncomfortably.  Now I know Coachella is known for the stylish festival outfits, but you can be both cute and comfy such as the picture on the right!  You’ll be outside in the sun and walking around all day so dress accordingly (especially with the right shoes!).

  • Don’t last-minute plan.  It’s one of the biggest, and not to mention most crowded, festivals of the year… PLAN AHEAD!

Coachella will be one of the best experiences of your life, hands down!  Have fun and take these do’s and don’ts into consideration!

XOXO – Chelsea

Ways to Wear Gingham for Every Occasion

Ways to Wear Gingham for Every Occasion
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/1ff75021812da9e23fd80eac6ca2fe63-2.jpg

Gingham is the classic picnic print. It is a great spring and summer pattern, not just for picnicking in the park! You can find many ways to wear this classic print for every occasion. Here are a few ways I have found!

  1. On a date: Pair a fun and flirty gingham top with some simple skinnies and a cute purse. The top will give a touch of your feminine side, whereas the jeans keep it low-key.

  2. To the beach: I am obsessed with gingham swimwear! It is so vintage and fun. I happen to own this suit! I love the high-waisted bottoms that help slim my hips. And the off-the-shoulder sleeves of the top add some extra style to the ensemble.

  3. For girl’s day: A fun dress is a must for a girls day out! Grab a fun and flowy dress like the one pictured and get ready to hang with your gals. I love the ruffled shoulders and synched waist of this look. It is so girly and sweet!

  4. At the office: Keep it classy at the office by wearing a gingham shirt tucked into a skirt. I love this look because it is just a touch of preppy.

  5. Out shopping: Rompers are one of my favorite spring and summer pieces, so obviously a gingham romper makes the list! This romper is cozy, cute, and completely classy. You can take this look from shopping to picnic to date as easy as pie. So versatile!

  6. Lounging around: Keep it cozy with a pair of cotton gingham shorts. I love this pair because of the tie-waist. It really gives off a fun retro vibe, don’t you think?

Gingham is a timelessly classy look. Do you have a favorite picnic-patterned piece? Comment below!

Secrets of Stylish Women

Secrets of Stylish Women

With everything going on in our lives, from school to work and everything in between, being stylish every day can seem like a tall order. Do you ever look at your favorite bloggers on Instagram and think “How in the world do they look so stylish EVERY DAY?!” I found a few of their secrets on how to look put-together at all times.

  1. Plan things out: You, of course, can’t plan for everything, but just like you try and plan your schedule out at the beginning of the week, try to do that with your outfits. I plan my outfits out ahead so my mornings are stress-free.

  2. Follow stylish women: I follow 4 or 5 really awesome style bloggers (Julia Engel, Cara Loren, and Amber Fillerup being my top 3). I really love their style and use their Instagram photos as inspiration for my outfits. I also follow boutiques like MOD that show outfit pairing examples.

  3. Invest in outfit staples: These are the basic fashion pieces that are the foundations of fashionable choices. If you are going to buy an item that you know you will pair with a lot of things, make sure it fits right, and invest in things that you know will last and that won’t quickly go out of style.

  4. Accessorize always: Try to have at least one accessory on, whether it is a statement necklace or a cute pair of earrings. It can even be a piece of jewelry that you wear with everything. I have a necklace and some bangle bracelets that I wear almost every day. They are my “staples” and go with everything. They instantly make me more stylish.

If your goal is to be a stylish gal, then these secrets are for you! There are some days when I am stylish, and others when I feel like bumming it, and that is perfectly fine. Style is an individual thing, and everyone’s style is different! Embrace it and have fun with it.

Bandanna Choker Fashion

Bandanna Choker Fashion
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/chelsea-crockett-bandanna-choker-style.jpg

I’ve noticed a new trend coming up through the ranks and I have to say, I love it! It is the new “bandanna choker” trend. It is retro, classic, and a great way to accessorize! Plus, bandannas are super inexpensive. Here are a few of my favorite ways this trend is being styled.

  1. Mixed patterns: This is a fun and unique way to wear the trend. Mix stripes and florals and mix colors with solids for a fun fashion statement.

  2. Trendy: This pairs two trendy looks – the off-the-shoulder trend and the choker trend! This photo is from the Instagram of one of my favorite local boutiques, MOD. I love the solid paired with the print. Such a fun look!

  3. Classic: This is the easiest and most simple way to wear the trend. Pair a solid blue, black, or white shirt with a red bandanna for a fun pop of color and retro flare.

Are you going to try this timeless trend?

Trends from the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards

Trends from the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Chelsea-Crockett-iHeartradio-Music-Awards.jpg

The 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards were just the other day and you know what that means: a red carpet full of all the hottest trends and styles of the season!  Celebrities such as Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, and the members of Fifth Harmony all rocked the red carpet this year.  Here are a few noticeable trends that are some of the hottest looks this season!

  • Metallic.  Metallic is a trend that comes and goes in waves.  Chelsea Crockett - Demi LovatoWell the wave is in, and metallic is back in full swing!  The picture on the right shows singer Demi Lovato rocking a metallic dress, jacket, and shoes on the red carpet.

  • Jumpsuits.  Jumpsuits are super comfy and can be dressed up depending on the style of them.  Most of the jumpsuits on the red carpet were dressed up for the event, but you can find one that’s much more casual but just as stylish!

  • Neutral colors.  There wasn’t a lot of color to be seen on the carpet this year.  There were some pastels or dark tones here and there, but black, white, and other neutral colors made up the majority of the celebs’ looks!

  • Anything but dresses.  Wait, what?  I thought award shows called for the prettiest gowns and dresses?  Usually that’s the case, but this year most celebs rocked jumpsuits, rompers, or pants and a stylish shirt.

Which trend is your favorite?  Let me know below! :)

3 DIY Ways to Spice Up Your Heels

3 DIY Ways to Spice Up Your Heels
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Chelsea-Crockett-DIY-Heels.jpg

When it comes to dressing up nice, my shoes are usually my favorite part of my outfit to pick out, especially when I’m wearing a fun pair of heels or wedges!  Although I love rocking a simple pair of heels when I can, most of my pairs are pretty boring.  I found 3 different DIY ways you can give your heels a stylish makeover! 🙂Chelsea Crockett - Ribbon Heels

  • Use pretty ribbon that you can wrap around your ankle.  Depending on the color of your heels, pick a color that compliments them.  I suggest even using the same color ribbon as your heels to make it look more professionally done, instead of mix-match.  Since it’s hard to explain without showing you an example, you can go off the picture on the right.  Simply wrap it once around your heel, then around your ankle, and finish it off with a bow!

  • Glue on glitter on the bottom part of your heels.  Use a superglue paste to apply to the underneath of your heels and sprinkle on glitter until they’re completely covered.  Let them dry and then show em’ off!  Chelsea Crockett - Jewel Heels

  • As for thicker heels, superglue on various jewels and beads like the picture on the left.  If you purchase a super strong glue to assure that the jewels will stay put, then you shouldn’t have to worry about them falling off!  I suggest using different colors and shapes while still complimenting the original pair of heels.

Which DIY is your favorite?  Let me know below which one you are going to try out for yourself!

3 Ways to Make Money Off Your Old Clothes

3 Ways to Make Money Off Your Old Clothes
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Chelsea-Crockett-Old-Clothes.png

Making money is always nice, right?  Especially if all you have to do is get rid of some of your old clothes!  There are several different apps and organizations that are perfect for making a little cash off of clothes you don’t wear or need anymore.  If you’re interested, keep reading to find out how! 🙂Chelsea Crockett - Poshmark

  • Consignment Shops.  If you have nicer clothes and accessories that you never use anymore, such as designer or high-end brands, you can sell them to these shops for a pretty decent profit!  They’ll then resell it for a higher price, but at least you get a good amount of money back.

  • Plato’s Closet.  If you have tons and tons of clothes you want to get rid of instead of just a single item, you can take boxes full of clothes to Plato’s Closet and see what they’ll take off your hands.  Sometimes they’ll send back a lot of what you’re trying to drop off, but other times you’ll make a pretty good profit off of it.

  • Poshmark.  If you’re looking to both sell some items and purchase some for yourself, Poshmark is the app for you.  You can pick your selling price or even trade other sellers for items you’re interested in like the picture on the right.  You might as well check it out!

I hope this helps you declutter your closet and make some money at the same time!
