During summer, it seems that all of the hype revolves around pricey brands and products that empty out your wallet.  You have to save up your money and then spend most of it on one product.  I’ve taken note of the most popular trending products and put together a “look for less” guidebook so you can save money but still be up to date with the cutest trends!

• Birkenstocks.  Don’t get me wrong, these shoes have become a major trend.  But each pair is usually around $100!  Kohl’s, Payless, Target, etc. all sell sandals with the same exact styles as Birkenstocks for prices as cheap as $15!


• Triangl Swimsuits.  These swimsuits can be super pricey but tons of stores have started coming out with similar styles!  Target, Victoria’s Secret, and several online stores are all good places to look.


• Rayban Sunglasses.  Raybans are usually very long-lasting, high-quality products, but if you want a cheap pair with a similar wayfarer or aviator style, check out Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, or H&M.


• Ripped/boyfriend Jeans.  Although it’s useful to invest in a good pair of jeans, you may just want a pair to wear every once in a while.  Forever 21 sells quality jeans for much cheaper than other stores like American Eagle or Express.


• Boho Jewelry.  Jewelry that has a Boho feel to it isn’t very hard to find!  My favorite places to look are Francesca’s and Urban Outfitters.

Born in the land down under, Quay Australia has been manufacturing sunglasses since 2004. They started roadside on the festival circuit only to windup selling their line of sunglasses internationally in 2009. Their brand has spread throughout the world and all of social media. Even celebs have been spotted rocking their shades!

Quay Australia is not like other brands of sunglasses. They offer tons of unique styles that aren’t like the classic looks such as aviators or wayfarers (although they do offer those as well!). A handful of celebrities have been seen wearing them including Shay Mitchell, Gigi Hadid, and Cara Delevingne! The shades and even the rims themselves come in different colors and patterns.

One of the most popular styles is called “my girl.” Even in this single style they offer four different color combos! The girl on the left is wearing them in the black/pink combo. They also have black/blue, clear/silver, and brown with speckled rims.

Another popular style is called “muse.” If you like simple and the aviator look, then you’ll love these! They also come in four different color combos as well. If you like more of a unique look, Quay offers tons of these too! Most pairs are around $60 which isn’t a bad deal when you compare their prices to other brands.

Especially since summer is in full swing, I urge you to buy a pair for days in the sun!

What’s the number one must-have accessory for summer? A rockin’ pair of shades… DUH!  Every girl needs a great pair of fun and stylish sunglasses.  Here’s a look at the latest trends for sunglasses for 2015.  Aviators and Wayfarers are always popular…you can never go wrong with them.  However, this season’s frames are taking on a more geometric frame with muted colors.  Don’t be afraid to super-size them!

If you are in the mood to be bold, colorful frames with ombré hues are also trendy this summer.  Feel free to give them a go if you dare :).  Another look making a comeback is retro styles that are chic and glamorous from the 60’s and 70’s.  Pair them with a fresh, cool outfit and you’ll love your new look.

Lastly, white framed sunglasses are stunning and classic.  You can’t go wrong with cat eye, oval, or square frames paired with a sporty white dress.  White frames were adorned by many of the designers during fashion week.  Therefore, you can’t go wrong with white!

 It’s beginning to be that time of the year again; warm weather, the anticipation of summer, and oh yeah, the sun!  Finding your perfect pair of sunglasses is essential to any spring/summer wardrobe.  Since it’s starting to get nice out, you’ll be spending less time indoors and more time outside enjoying the weather!  Not only do sunglasses protect your eyes, but they add a special flare to any outfit as well!

            Begin by knowing your face.  Look in the mirror and determine what type of face structure you have (circle, oval, heart, square).  This will help you find the most flattering pair of sunglasses for your face!  If you have a round face, stay away from big, oval or circle shaped sunglasses.  They will make your face seem larger than it is.  Instead, opt for a pair of wayfarers.  The rectangle structure will add a good balance to your facial structure!  If you have a square or heart shaped face, then big sunglasses are for you!  Try a dramatic, circular pair of glasses.  The difference in structure will add a nice balance to your face.

Once you’ve found your perfect pair of sunglasses, then you’re prepared to take on the summer sun.  Remember, it’s all about balance, so know your face!
