Dresses are my favorite! I hate having to slide them to the back of my closet once the cold weather and snow start to hit. Of course, bright colors and sun dresses probably need to be retired, but you don’t have to quit wearing dresses completely! Check out my favorite ways to rock a dress in the freezing cold!

The typical way to wear a dress in the cold without freezing is with tights, boots, and a jacket. While this style is classic and always accepted, there are a few fun ways to ditch the tights! Have you ever heard of over the knee boots?! These are great to throw on with a dress and show just enough skin that you won’t get too cold! Another interesting way to wear a dress in the winter is with a tight pair of skinnies. This works best with a flannel or sweater dress (I would not recommend this with a tight dress).

When it comes to a jacket, my favorites to wear with a dress are a classic leather bomber jacket or long knee coat. Totally depends on your mood! Don’t give your favorite dress the boot too soon…you’ve just gained yourself a few more months!

Hi Girls,

            Don’t put up your warm weather clothes just yet!  Tights are a life saver in the winter.  They are so easy to slip on with your favorite dress, shorts or skirts.  They have even become a huge style staple.  With fun prints, bright colors, and of course, your typical black and nude, tights can be worn with almost anything!  Follow my style tips on how to wear and pair your tights in the winter!

            Printed tights can be tricky to wear.  They have to be paired perfectly with just the right outfit.  Try wearing a pair of striped or polka dot tights with a solid colored dress or color block skirt and shirt duo.  Keep the colors subtle, so your outfit isn’t too over the top.  If you’re going to try a pair of colored tights, stick to one or two colors in your outfit.  Color blocking is a great way to incorporate colored tights.  For example, if you’re going to wear a pair of pink tights, try adding a complimentary color like orange in your look.

Nude, black, and white tights are essential to every girl’s closet.  These colors can be paired with any outfit…literally anything.  You can even wear your shorts in the winter thanks to tights!  For a grungier look, try rocking your favorite concert tee with high waisted shorts, black tights, and an over-sized cardigan.  If you want to go a classier route, pair any dress with black or nude tights.  You can’t go wrong!

Ladies, there is a trend out and about this time of year that I just love. It is the “high-waisted shorts with tights” trend! There are so many ways to pull off this trend. I’ll explain a few to you below!

 Dressy: If you want to dress this trend up a bit, you have a few options. First, you start with your favorite pair of dark-wash high-waisters. Then, grab a pair of dark colored tights, such as black or maroon, and slip them on! To dress the ensemble up, grab a pair of black suede wedges or black lace up wedges. For a top, choose a dark colored shirt and pair it with a black leather jacket or blazer and neutral scarf.

Casual: If you are out and about and want to rock this style, go for it! Pair a dark pair of tights with your favorite light-wash pair of high waisted shorts and a band tee, or a tee from your favorite sports team! Pair with a jean or leather jacket and your favorite statement scarf! Toss on a pair of converse to complete the outfit.

 Don’t know how to make high-waisted shorts? Go buy a pair of jeans from Goodwill, take a scissors, and chop chop away! You can leave the bottoms frayed or you can cuff them whatever you prefer.
