Olive green is one of those colors that looks good on everyone. It is also one of fall’s favorite hues! Olive green pairs well with many colors, and is a more exciting neutral than tan or brown. Here are my favorite ways to mix and match olive green into my autumn outfits.

1. Layered with a vest: This is the most subtle way to wear olive green. You can layer an olive vest over a patterned button-up for a classic fall look. You can take it off if you get too warm, which is what happens most of the time where I live. Fall mornings are chilly, but the afternoons get warm. A vest gives your outfit a casual yet preppy feel.


2. Cozy in a cardigan: I love a long cardigan. My favorite are the ones that are long enough to hit at your knees. They are slimming and make me look taller! Pair a long olive cardigan with a light-colored sweater and brown boots for a neutral, understated yet stylish look.


3. Time for a turtle neck: In the last few years turtle necks have really made a comeback. Not only do they keep you cozy and warm, they are also stylish! Pair an olive green turtle neck sweater with a black leather jacket and ripped black skinny jeans for an edgy, fun fall look.

Plaid: Fall’s favorite pattern. You can wear it many ways, with many layers, and in many color combinations! Sometimes, with all those options, it can get a little overwhelming. To simplify styling plaid this Fall, I’ll give you my 3 favorite ways to wear it.

1. Layered: One plaid shirt can be worn in so many ways. It can be worn under a sweater, cardigan, vest, army jacket, and so on. You can tone down the pattern by layering it under things, or let it be the centerpiece of the outfit by wearing it by itself.


2. Accessorized: Plaid scarves are timeless and go with just about anything! You can drape a plaid blanket scarf around your shoulders to keep you warm, and can wear a pair of plaid gloves to add accent to any fall ensemble.


3. Statement: Make a plaid piece the statement item of your outfit. I love a cute plaid skirt with a simple top and riding boots. The pattern doesn’t overwhelm the outfit and gives it the perfect amount of “pop.”

Who says you cannot wear white after Labor Day? I petition that we throw that rule out the door! Why put those perfectly good white jeans

away for the fall/winter when you could rock them all year long? Here are my favorite ways to wear white jeans in the fall.

1. With a neutral sweater: If you are looking for a casual outfit to wear to school, pair your white skinnies with a neutral colored oversized sweater. I actually love a ripped pair of white skinnies with this outfit. Pair with some ankle booties for a cozy, casual cold weather look.


2. With a jean jacket: A dark jean jacket adds so much dimension to a simple outfit. Pair white jeans, a simple gray shirt, and a denim jacket for a simple, sweet fall look. Toss in some suede booties to complete the ensemble!


3. With gingham: Gingam was huge this summer, and it will totally carry into the cooler weather seasons. It is so classy and cute and vintange and just all around adorable! Tuck a gingham button up into your white jeans, or just tuck in the front and let the rest of the shirt hang loose, and layer in a thin tan belt. I would wear some white Keds sneakers with this duo for a classic, timeless combo.

People will forget the phrase “don’t wear white past Labor Day” when they see how cute you look in your fall white jeans ensembles!

On Pinterest I always see pictures of women wearing chic over-the-knee boots and I drool a little. The boots are so trendy and look effortlessly stylish. They so slimming, too! Well, as we have heard time and time again, some things look better in pictures than they do in real life. Over-the-knee boots are one of those things. As it turns out, styling and being able to pull off over-the-knee boots is actually a bit of a challenge because they look different on everyone! Here are a few tips on how to wear them for every body type.

 For tall girlies: You ladies have it the best when it comes to over-the-knee boots. Your long legs are beneficial because the boots accentuate them and make them look even longer! Pair them with a simple sweater dress for a great balance between your boots and your hemline.

For curvy ladies: If you have curves you can totally rock these bad boys! It is all about how you wear them. Go for a pair that hits right above the knee and creates a lean, long leg line with some dark denim jeans. As for your top, wear a long sweater or blouse to finish the ensemble off.

For petite gals: When it comes to my petite pals, I suggest pairing over-the-knee boots with fitted pieces that show your shape. It is important not to overwhelm your small frame! Don’t wear tops or dresses with long hemlines that make your legs look short, go for tops/dresses/skirts that leave plenty of space between your hemline and boots.

These stylish boots can work for any body type! You just have to know how to style them in a way that works with YOU. 😉

Athleisure is an up-and-coming trend that I am loving, I have to admit. Athleisure is casual clothing like yoga pants, sweat pants, and pullovers that are designed to be worn for both exercising and pretty much everything else. So, they are athletic clothes that are stylish and functional, meaning you can wear them to the gym and then to the grocery store and look stylin’ while doing both. This trend is both comfy and trendy, so I am ready to hop on board. Here are 3 athleisure looks to try this fall and winter.

1. Super casual: In this style we see workout leggings paired with a loose tank top layered under a simple pullover. The outfit is finished off with some slip-on sneakers. I like this look because it is effortless and really casual, but it is also comfy and can be worn out and about.


2. Cute and comfy: This next look pairs workout leggings with some Hunter boots, and white long-sleeve tee layered under a cute thermal pullover and puffy vest. This style is really preppy and cute while also being comfy and practical.


3. Trendy and effortless: This next look is the most complex, but is also my personal favorite. This look pairs some workout leggings with awesome textured patches on the knees, a white long-sleeve tee, and a green army jacket with an infinity scarf to top it off. The tennis shoes keep the outfit athletic while the army jacket takes it to a more “street-worthy” state.

I love outfits that I can wear straight from the gym to run errands, or just to be comfy while I’m out and about! Athletic clothes can be dressed up in so many ways to make them more “outfit” ready. Who says comfy can’t also be cute?

How much do you wear belts? My guess is only when your pants need assistance staying on your tush. Your winter wardrobe this year is dependent on them! Belts, that is. You can build your outfit around them and use them to accessorize! You can also use them to shape your clothes to your body. Bold belts can transform a simple ensemble into a stylish outfit. Here are 3 ways to use belts in your wardrobe this winter!

1. Double-sided buckle: I LOOOVE this trend. It is a fun, unique, Western version of your everyday belt. It has two buckles! My favorite way to wear this belt is to pair it with some black distressed jeans and a loose blouse that I can tuck into the front of my jeans to showcase the belt.


2. Classic: You can’t go wrong with a simple leather belt. These babies go with pretty much anything. This season, I am wearing mine mostly with dark jeans and a light colored shirt for some cute contrast.


3. Printed: This last option is the simplest of all. Wear a patterned belt, like leopard print, with a simple shirt and jeans for a simple but sassy outfit. If you want to wear a simple neutral sweater with jeans, wearing a printed belt takes your outfit to the next level.

Vests are a great fall fashion staple. They are great to wear on chilly days when a coat isn’t necessary but you still need a little something to keep you warm. Plus, vests are the ultimate layering piece. There are so many different styles of vests out there this season, so I thought I would round up my top 3 and give you some styling tips with each!

1. Front-fold vest: This style of vest is pretty new and I am loving it. The inside of the vest folds outward, giving a more layered and dimensional look. This vest is a great casual piece that looks awesome layered with plaid or a solid neutral color.


2. Faux fur vest: I love these vests because of how versatile they are. You can pair them with a patterned or solid shirt and with pretty much whatever color of pants you want! It can also be dressed up or dressed down depending on the situation.


3. Quilted: This is the most popular type of vest. These are an awesome addition to your everyday fall wardrobe. They are comfy and cozy and casual. Pair with a simple button up and riding boots for a cute casual outfit, or layer over a sporty hoodie for a sporty look.

I think wearing black on black is so chic and sophistocated. But, there is a difference between wearing all black and looking sophistocated and wearing all black and looking overly grungy. We want to lean more towards classy and chic, so here are a few ways to do just that!

1. Play with shades: There are different shades of black. When I say that, I mean there is lighter blacks that are more dark gray-ish and then there are pitch blacks. My advice is to play with different shades of black and dark gray in an outfit to add dimension and break up the black.


2. Work with patterns: Wear black ripped jeans with a quilted black leather jacket and plain black or dark gray tee. The different patterns and textures of the pieces will keep things interesting and distract from the solomness of the dark shade. You can also wear black tops with white trim or patterns to add some accent!


3. Go bold: This look is for the girl that knows wearing all black is an art and takes planning, and she embraces it. Like I said earlier, there is a fine line between looking sophistocated and going too overboard with wearing all black. In this outfit we go bold and we pair plain black skinnies with a classic leather biker jacket and black booties. We can even toss in a black handbag with silver zippers and snaps, so that the accents on the handbag accentuate the oufit. The silver accents on the buckles of the boots and the snaps on the jacket and handbag help break up the black.

Remember to keep things classy and chic when planning an all black ensemble. Be bold, and be brave when making fashion choices! J

There are so many great ways to style white that don’t require the weather to be spring or summer. From sweaters to jeans to handbags and dresses, you name it, you can wear it in white. As long as you incorporate other elements that match the outside temps, like a scarf or layers, then you are good to go. Here are 4 ways to rock winter whites.

1. Bell-sleeve dress: I love the bohemian/retro look of bell-sleeve dresses. Because they are long-sleeved, you can wear them in the chilly weather when paired with some booties. You could even pull on a pair of nylon tights and a vest if you want to add some extra warmth to the ensemble.


2. White handbag: White handbags look so fresh and clean. They add a clean pop of style to any ensemble, and they go with everything!


3. Distressed white jeans: The great thing about white jeans is that you can them year-round. I also love all of the outfit possibilities they bring! Plus, when you add in the distressed look, you add a little extra dimensions You can wear them with an army jacket and black booties for an edgy look, or if you want to keep it simple, pair them with a loose neutral-colored oversized sweater and brown leather booties.


4. White sweater: White sweaters come in all shapes and sizes. You can layer them or wear them by themselves. I love a crisp white cardigan because they are totally versatile, and I love an oversized white sweater that goes with almost any color of pants.

To me, one of the classiest, most preppy patterns is plaid. Wouldn’t you agree? The best time to wear plaid is during the autumn and winter months, and luckily those months are upon us! Here are a few of my favorite ways to pair up plaid this season.

1. Dress it up: Layer a chunky cable knit sweater over a plaid skirt or dress for a layered fall look. Add in some booties and a felt hat to complete the ensemble! I love this pairing because it is just too cute for words! So pretty and preppy.


2. Layer it up: Pair your favorite plaid flannel with a puffy or faux fur vest for a cute, simple, everyday look! Add some brown riding boots and you are good to go. If you want something casual, pair a solid long sleeved tee with dark pants and a plaid flannel wrapped around your waist.


3. Scarf it up: The easiest way to wear plaid this season is to wear it in scarf form! Pair a plaid scarf or blanket scarf with your favorite sweater to add a little extra oomf to your outfit.

1. Fringe jacket/sweater: I love fringe outerwear. If it has subtle fringe, it is an A+ in my book. Too much fringe is too overwhelming, but a little as an accent is perfect! Wear some statement jewelry like a watch and bangles for accessories, and layer a simple tee under your fringe to keep things simple.


2. Fringe booties: Wearing fringe booties with a simple outfit takes it to the next level! Use your booties as the statement piece of the outfit, or

When you think of peplum style tops, you probably think of summer and spring because they are flowy and light. But, fall is also a great time for peplum tops. Here are my favorite ways to style these fun, cute tops during the cold fall weather!

1. Cozy and casual: I love cozy tops like this. They are tight at the top and then flare out at the bottom, so they show your curves while still being loose and cozy. You can wear this cozy top with jeans or leggings for a comfy cold-weather outfit.


2. Pretty and plaid: Fall is all about plaid! I love the combo of plaid and peplum because it is a more feminine flare on your typical plaid button-up shirt. Paired with some dark jeans and nude booties, it is the perfect fall outfit! Id wear this anywhere from the pumplin patch to out to a casual dinner out.


3. Whistful and fun: This is a more trendy look at your fall peplum style! Bell-sleve shirts are really in, and this sort of shirt is “hippie-chic.” I love how it is paired with lace-up flats and distressed skinny jeans. I think this is a great everyday look for the fashion lover in all of us!

Okay ladies, do you ever pull on a pair of jeans in the morning and then stare at your shoes thinking “What kind of boots do I wear with these?!” because, lets face it, finding the right kind of boots for each style of jeans can be quite a task. Are booties best? Riding boots? Over-the-Knee boots? Wedges? So many options! I came up with a handy dandy cheat sheet to help guide you in your pairing.

1. Skinny jeans: If you are keeping it casual, knee-high boots like riding boots are best for these jeans. If you are getting a little more dressy, try wedges or short stylish booties.


2. Boyfriend jeans: These jeans are so fun to wear. Simple short booties work great with these for a simple but stylish ensemble.


3. Flared jeans: These jeans are super slimming. If you are keeping it casual, wear a pair of suede wedge booties. This look is a little bit retro and a whole lot cute.


4. Boot cut jeans: If you are going the casual route, wear booties. As the name suggests, these jeans are perfect for boots!

One trend I am loving this fall is the button-up a-line skirt. I think it is so retro and cute! I have been experimenting with different ways to wear mine this fall, and I have come up with a few favorites. Here they are!

1. Preppy and classic: Sometimes its fun to play up your preppy side. For a cute classic look, take a suede button-up skirt and pair it with a simple cotton oxford shirt. Add in a scarf that ties it all together and you are ready to hit the town! This is a great casual date night or outing outfit.


2. Sleek and trendy: If you are looking for a trendy outfit, look no further than a button-up a-line with a simple turtleneck and booties. If you want, you can even layer tights under the ensemble! If you want a sleek look, go for a darker colored shirt, booties, and tights.


3. Cute and casual: This is how I wear my a-line skirt most often. I have been obsessed with off-the-shoulder tops lately, so I recently paired my skirt with a long sleeve, white off-the-shoulder top. I love the effortless look of this outfit! This is perfect for a warmer fall day.

Sadly, there aren’t many days of summer left. Actually, who am I kidding, I’m not sad about that at all! I love fall weather, from changing leaves to chilly weather and fall fashion. I especially love fall shoe trends. In honor of New York Fashion Week this week I have created a guide to the top 2016 fall shoe trends.

1. Borrowing from the boys: This fall one big fashion statement is borrowed from the boys, and that is loafers and oxfords. These primarily guy-ish shoes are given a girly twist, from adding metallic finishes, chunky heels, or fun tassels.


2. Buckle up: Lace-up shoes and shoes with lots of straps were hot this summer, but this fall the new “in” detail is buckles. From buckles on pumps, flats, booties and beyond! This trend is super edgy.


3. Velvet details: Velvet is such a cool fall/winter fabric. This fall you will be seeing a lot of velvet! From velvet booties to pumps and heels. I love the elegant, retro vibe that it brings!


4. High as your thigh: Thigh-high boots are still the “big thing” this fall. They are dramatic and bold. I love lace-up and open-toed styles!

The “tassel” trend is one of my faves right now. My favorite store in my hometown, “MOD”, has some great tassel pieces that I have my eye on. I know this fashion trend will be in full swing this fall, so I want to make sure you know all the details! Here are my favorite ways to rock the trend.

1. With necklaces: I love the tassel necklace trend. You can spruce up any simple ensemble with a spunky tassel necklace. I love the pops of color and accents they add!


2. On handbags: This is such a fun way to make your outfit pop! Keep your outfit simple, wear whites or other neutrals, and add in a handbag featuring tassels. I love the fun playfulness of them!


3. On apparel: Show your fun, fashionista side by wearing pieces that feature tassels! I love this shirt that has tassels on the bottom. Wear it with a pair of jeans and cute flats and you are ready for a fun day out on the town, or it can even be a simple date night outfit!

Last year floral jeans and bold prints were all the rage. This year, texture is what we are loving. Moto jeans are an edgy, unique, fashion-forward statement that I am excited to work into my wardrobe. They have just enough texture to be different from the crowd, but are not flashy and do not draw too much attention. They are a subtle statement. Here are 3 ways you can make moto jeans your own this fall.

1. Casual and comfy: Pair a neutral sweater with a distresses, earthy shade of moto jeans. Add in some neutral suade booties or neutral flats and a fringe purse for an everyday look.
2. Edgy: Grab a pair of black or burghundy moto jeans and toss on a black sweater and a leather jacket to turn some heads. Toss in some black chunky booties, a black or burghundy clutch and some black wayfarer shades to complete the look.
3. Denim: Slide on some denim moto jeans with a simple sweater, printed flats, and an animal print handbag.

Flannels are a pretty diverse piece of clothing. They can be worn in so many ways, from wrapped around your waist to layered over a dress to simply buttoned up! Besides being oh-so-warm and cozy, they are also pretty darn cute. Here are 4 ways to fashion your flannels this season.

1. If you live somewhere where the weather is not too chilly during the winter months but can get a little brisk at times, you can layer a unbuttoned flannel on top of a floaty dress and pair that with boots and sunglasses. If you live where it is chilly, add some tights under the dress to make this outfit work for you!
2. An all-black outfit is necessary every once in a while. Want to feel chick and edgy? Pair some black skinnies with a simple v-neck tee and a black and white unbuttoned flannel. Toss on some boots and a statement necklace and you are ready to rock.
3. If you have a preppy side, which I think we all do deep down, layer a checked flannel under a cute sweater. Let the collar and the cuffs of the sleeve pop out of the sweater to show the pattern. Add in a statement watch, some bangles, and riding boots to finish off this look.
4. Add a feminine flare to your flannel by tucking it into high-waisted jeans. Wear some classic nude or brown booties with this to create a sort of retro, classic, almost western look!

In my book, a layered outfit is the best kind. It mixes different styles, colors, and textures to form an outfit that is perfectly put-together. A well layered outfit not only keeps you warm, it also adds dimension and personality to your look. Here are 3 outfits that show you how to get the most out of cold-weather coat layering.

1. Leather layering: This outfit combines a plaid flannel with a slouchy cardigan and a leather jacket. Layering the chunky cardigan under the leather jacket not only keeps you warm, but also adds a layer of texture to the look of the outfit!
2. More leather layering: Okay, so you have probably noticed I like leather jackets. Sue me! This time we are layering the leather jacket UNDER something. Pair a simple tee, such as a striped tee, under a leather jacket, then layer that under a colored coat. The coat doesn’t have to be colored, but if you want to spice things up choose a color that is still versatile but is also a statement!
3. Moving to denim: This time we ditch the leather jacket for denim. Layer a simple tee under an unbuttoned denim shirt. Then add a simple coat over that for a subtle, understated look that is still trendy!

Get creative with coat layering. Have fun with it! Not only will it keep you looking cute, it will keep you cozy too!
