Tips For Applying to College
Tips For Applying to College
https://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-tips-for-applying-to-college.jpg
One of the most daunting of all the college related tasks is the applications. They can be long, tedious, and intimidating! Here are a few tips on how to make them more manageable and less miserable.
- Start early: This may be the most important tip of all! Starting the application process early will ensure you don’t feel crunched for time and stressed. It will also give you more time to proofread your essays and make sure that your work is A+.
- Find a proofreader: If you have a grammatically gifted family member or a favorite high school English teacher, have them proofread your essays before you submit them. This will help ensure your essays are grammatically sound and that the content is good.
- Apply smart: Don’t apply to Harvard if you don’t picture yourself going there. Only apply for schools that you are interested in. Don’t waste your time with others.
- Keep track of deadlines: Staying organized during the application process will keep you sane. Use a planner or an excel doc to help track when applications and letters of recommendation are due. The worst thing in the world is realizing that the application to your dream school is due tomorrow and you haven’t even started it!
Hopefully this helps my fellow students out there to prepare for college aps!
Good luck,
XOXO, Chels

What is the Passion Conference?
What is the Passion Conference?
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Passion-1.png
If you follow me on social media then you know I am gearing up to head to Atlanta Georgia on January 2nd to the Passion Conference. I am so excited to go and worship and learn more about God with my friends! Some of you may not know what Passion is, so I thought I would fill you in.
The Passion Conference exists to glorify God by uniting students in worship, prayer and justice for spiritual awakening in this generation. The movement started in 1995 and has had one mission since then: to call students from campuses across the nation and around the world to live for what matters most. What matters most is Jesus. Millions of students and people from 18-25 have had their lives transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit at Passion, and because of their Faith their voice is getting louder as they rise and bring hope and light to the world. Passion is more than music and events; it is a generation living for Jesus.
Want to join the movement? Come to Passion! If you can’t make it, research the conference and find out other ways you can get involved.

Iced Coffee Protein Smoothie
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-iced-coffee-protein-smoothie.jpg
I have been getting back into my fitness groove lately and have been working out pretty frequently. After my workouts I like to drink protein smoothies to fuel up my body after I wear it out. I love coffee, so I figured why not create an iced coffee protein smoothie! Here is a high-protein way to put a little pep in your step!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup iced coffee almond milk
- 1 frozen chopped banana
- 2 scoops of your choice of protein powder
Blend all of these ingredients together and you are done! This smoothie makes a great breakfast and is the perfect little caffeine boost.
Enjoy!

Tips for Traveling Solo
Tips for Traveling Solo
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-tips-for-traveling-solo.jpg
Our world is a beautiful, wonderful place that is meant to be traveled and explored. That being said, it is also a dangerous place to travel for a woman traveling solo. When I travel I take a parent with me as often as possible, but I know a few of my friends that have traveled solo or with another girl friend. I’m also starting to travel a lot more on my own. Traveling solo can mean a ton of freedom because the only person you have to worry about is yourself! But, there are a few things girls need to know before they go off and travel by themselves, just for safety reasons. Here are a few of the super-important ones.
- Fill your family in: Before you leave, give your family back home your itinerary. Let them know what your travel schedule is, where you will be staying, and other such info in case they need to get in touch with you or if something goes wrong.
- Take photos of important docs: Keep photos of your passport, ids, ticket numbers, and reservations with you or in the cloud online so you always have access to them in a crunch.
- Pack light: This is so that criminals are less likely to rob you. If you are towing a large suitcase with a Coach purse on your arm, you are more likely to draw a robber’s attention. Small bags are also easier to get around with.
- Don’t keep your money in one place: Keep some cash and a credit card on you, and then keep another set in your bag, and then another at the place you are staying just to be safe.
- Don’t wear both headphones: Stay alert by only wearing one headphone. If you have both in you are less likely to hear if anything sketchy is going on around you.
- Bring a selfie stick: Solo travel means no one is there to take your picture on a moment’s notice. That is the beauty of selfie sticks! Plus, it means you don’t have to hand your camera to a total stranger to take a pic of you.
And, above all, have fun! Just have a safe time while doing it. 🙂

Reasonable New Year"s Resolutions
Reasonable New Year"s Resolutions
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-reasonable-new-years-resolutions.jpg
I’m usually not a “New Year’s Resolution” kind of girl. They can be kind of daunting, and when you fail at them it can make you feel down in the dumps. But, I have found a few resolutions that are more like “life goals”, if you do them you feel good about yourself, and if you don’t it doesn’t make any difference! Here are a few easy “resolutions” to take on in 2017.
- Stop trying to diet. Dieting is a waste of time. Drink more water and eat more fruits and veggies. Also exercise regularly! That’s all the “dieting” you need!
- Take a social media break. Staying off of it for a few days can help clear your mind and give you a new perspective on things. I did that when I came home from college and it was one of the best things for me.
- Be present with other people. This kind of goes with the one above. When you are out to dinner with friends or family, or if you are at a friend’s house hanging out, put your phone away and give them your attention.
- Give more compliments.
- Find a form of exercise you enjoy. If you like it, you are more likely to do it!
- Try things you’ve never done before. It could be food, exercise, movie genres, anything that you haven’t done before!
- Talk to older family members about their childhood. I love listening to my older family members talk about what it was like to grow up in the time period they did. You can learn so much from them, and they love sharing their memories with you!
Not all New Year’s resolutions have to be boring!

5 Minute Face Contour
5 Minute Face Contour
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-5-minute-face-contour.jpg
When I think about contouring my face, all I can think about is how time consuming it is going to be. That is no longer the case with this brand spankin’ new contouring method that takes only 5 minutes! I’ll tell you all about it.
What you will need: a dark shadow for contouring and a highlighter for highlighting, and a tapered brush or a blusher brush.
The key: accentuate the places where shadows normally fall on your face. This place is below your cheekbones, and to accentuate this area use your brush to measure a straight line from your ear to the side of your mouth like you are sucking in your cheeks, then place the contour there.
The method: load up your brush with bronzer or whatever contouring makeup you are using, then brush the excess off on your hand and lightly bring the color along the line you traced on your cheek with your brush earlier. Bring the excess bronzer on the brush up to your temple and blend it to connect it with your hair line.
Next, highlight: Highlight the top of your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, under your brow bone, and your cupids bow. Or, if you want to keep your look a little more natural, choose a few to highlight instead of all of them.
Wham bam, you are done! Just simple bronzer and highlighter can do the trick when it comes to a quick contour!
