How to Get Victoria"s Secret Runway Ready Hair

How to Get Victoria"s Secret Runway Ready Hair

While watching the Victoria’s Secret fashion show this year, I was hit with severe hair envy. Have you ever wanted hair that looks like it belonged on the Vicki’s Secret runway? Here is the inside scoop on how to get those beautiful waves that we love so much.

  1. Mousse: To get runway-level volume, apply a volumizing mousse to your roots. A fool-proof way to make sure your hair gets evenly coated, spray some mousse onto a brush and then comb through your strands.rs_634x951-151110125730-634-stella-maxwell-victorias-secret-backstage-ms-111015

  2. Dry right: Bow dry your hair until it is 80% dry, using your fingers to comb through it. Then, take a round brush if you have straight hair or a paddle brush if you have curly hair and smooth your hair. Make sure your nozzle is pointed downward so that your cuticles lay flat and don’t frizz.

  3. Pick out a part: After you are done drying your hair with your head flipped upside down, flip your head up again and where your hair naturally falls is the most flattering part for your face. Use the end of a comb to straighten the part out.

  4. Add extensions: This is optional and this step can definitely be skipped, but if you want a little length, you can clip in some extensions.

  5. Curl those strands: This is the fun part! To keep your curls from looking too uniform, use a larger curling iron and wrap sections around the barrel and away from your face. Then hold the barrel at a slight angle, this way you get volume at the root and the wave in the middle. Before you release your hair, close the barrel on the ends to give them a slight bend. To make the curls last all night, coil them up and pin them while they cool. Finish the style by spraying a boar-bristle brush with hairspray and brushing it through your curls to bring them together for a totally glam finish.

And that’s that! Now you know how to get runway-ready hair.

Concealer 101

Concealer 101
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-concealer-101.jpg

Concealer is a life-saver, but only if you know how to use it to your advantage. It took me a while to master the art of concealer! Finding the right color for you can be tricky, plus applying it the right way is an art of its own. Here are my top 5 tips on everything concealer related.

  1. Color is key: There are shades of concealer that will help neutralize your specific skin tone. If you have dark purple spots around your eyes, use red concealer to cover them up and neutralize the dark circles. To find what concealer color works best for you, look at the undertone of your under eye circles.hey-girl-those-dark-circles-really-make-your-eyes-pop

  2. Different concealer formulas work better on different parts of your face: You may need a few different concealers in different colors to help cover everything. You can use a concealer that is skin tone, but having the right formula and color for the job makes a huge difference.

  3. When to apply: Apply concealer after foundation to prevent brushing the concealer away. It also helps you use less concealer! Top it all off with powder.

  4. Let your concealer set: Let your concealer “cook” or melt onto your face for a few minutes. Your body heat will warm it up, and it may change color or texture a bit. After it has melted a bit, then you can work with it and blend it into your foundation.

  5. If you like to keep things simple: If you are more of a “do the minimum” makeup kind of person, just apply concealer under your eyes, at the corners of your mouth, and next to your nose. It will help you camouflage redness or darkness in those areas quick as a flash!

Hopefully these tips help you conceal anything on your skin that you feel self-conscious about! That is what concealer is for after all, to conceal dark spots and pimples.

Chocolate Lover"s Dream: Nutella Hot Chocolate

Chocolate Lover"s Dream: Nutella Hot Chocolate
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/chelsea-crockett-Chocolate-Lovers-Dream-butella-hot-chocolate.jpg

Is there anything better than a hot cup of hot chocolate on a chilly winter day? I think I found it…Nutella hot chocolate! Imagine the creamy, chocolaty goodness of Nutella in hot liquid form. Mouth = watering. Here is how to make yourself a batch. Excuse me while I do so myself!

Ingredients:c302426a06739b278f01cfda3d1eaa96

  • 4 cups skim milk

  • 2 tbsp Nutella

  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 2 tbsp sugar

This recipe is so easy, even my dogs could make it. Heat the milk in a medium saucepan on medium/high heat until it begins to warm and steam. Add the Nutella, sugar, and cocoa powder, then whisk until it is well combined and dissolved. Simmer it, stir it, then take it off of the heat. Pour yourself a glass, let it cool, and then top with your choice of toppings! My favorite is marshmallows and chocolate chips.

This is a great sleepover food, am I right? Or a great Christmas movie-watching treat.

Eat up 🙂

5 Things to Never Do in an Interview

5 Things to Never Do in an Interview
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/image22.jpeg

No matter what stage life you are in, whether you are in high school, college or beyond, you are going to face a few job interviews in your day. It is so important to know what employers are looking for, both positive and negative, when they interview people. Here are a few “red flags” that employers look for in interviews so that you can avoid them and get the job you want!

  1. Badmouthing your past employers: Even if you had a bad experience with a past employer, it is a bad idea to badmouth them or complain about them during an interview. You don’t want te people interviewing you thinking that if you were to leave their workplace that you would badmouth them too.tips-to-not-fail-in-a-job-interview

  2. Your attire isn’t interview-appropriate: Not all interviews require a pantsuit or formal business attire, but it is always a good idea to dress as professionally as you can. You can easily go to a thrift store or Target for affordable interview attire. A lot of employers will immediately put your resume in the “no” pile if you do not dress for success.

  3. You’re tardy: Accidents happen, and being late isn’t always 100% our fault. But showing up late to an interview without a warning or explanation gives off a bad vibe. It may make your potential employer think that you don’t care about the interview and that if you worked for them, you would be late to work.

  4. Your nerves take over: It is normal to be nervous during a job interview! But, it is a good idea to try and handle your nervousness and keep your nervous ticks (like talking with your hands or talking too fast) in control so they don’t overtake the interview.

Hopefully these tips help you land your dream job by killin’ the interview!

Top 5 Things to Put on Your 2016 Christmas Wish List

Top 5 Things to Put on Your 2016 Christmas Wish List
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Chelsea-Crockett-Christmas-Wish-List-1.jpg

I know I’m not the only one who all of a sudden forgets what I want to put on my wish list when Christmas time rolls around!  I always wait last minute to throw one together and end up forgetting what I actually want to add!  If you need a little help brainstorming what to add to your list this year (like I did), here are a few things that should be at the top!

  • Lipstick Vaults.  These are extremely in this year!  So many different brands and stores are coming out with full sets of lipstick compiled into one huge vault.  For example, NYX Cosmetics offers their own Liquid Lipstick Vault with so many different shades and colors.  Check them out!Chelsea Crockett - LED Phone Case

  • LED Selfie Phone Cases.  If you think I’m lying, see for yourself!  You can purchase selfie phone cases that have lights around the border to give your pics the perfect lighting!

  • Fitbits.  Fitbits are a great way to track your progress if you like to work out.  And if you don’t, then you could use one to get more active and set fitness goals!

  • A New Journal or Bible.  Recently, I’ve been super into journaling.  I love writing down things that come to me throughout the day or simply things that happen that I want to remember!

  • This may be a little out of the box, but a Keurig coffee maker or smoothie blender is super useful and enjoyable, especially for college students.  If you live in a dorm, getting a quick coffee maker or blender will make your mornings 10x better.  Trust me!

What are your top presents you’re asking for this year?  Let me know :)!

Best Christmas Dates to Go On this Season

Best Christmas Dates to Go On this Season
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Chelsea-Crockett-Christmas-dates.jpg

Around the holidays is the absolute best time for fun winter dates.  There are so many different things to do whether it be with your new crush, boyfriend, or even your BFF.  Most are pretty inexpensive too which is always a plus! Here are a few dates that are perfect for breaking you and your date into the Christmas spirit!

  • Since spending a lot of money to go out on an actually date isn’t always an option, spending a night at home can be just as fun!  Baking Christmas cookies and watching your fav Christmas movies isn’t too bad of an idea!Chelsea Crockett - Christmas Lights

  • Around my area, we have a ton of neighborhoods/houses that go all out for Christmas decorating.  Wait till it gets dark out, make some hot chocolate to-go, and go for a drive to look at all the lights and decorations!

  • I’ve heard this a bunch of times but haven’t actually tried it out myself!  People say volunteering with your boyfriend or girlfriend is a good way to not only help your community but to get to know them better as well.  Maybe go shopping for a toy drive or volunteer somewhere to spread some holiday cheer!

  • Search online for any Christmas festivals or celebrations going on around your area.  I know where I’m from we have different Christmas events going on all throughout December!

  • Buy tickets for a Christmas play or concert.  Instead of the typical movie theater date, switch it up and go to a holiday play!  You can even go on a nice dinner before, dress up, and enjoy your night together!

I hope you and your date have an awesome holiday season! :)

Last-Minute DIY Christmas Gifts

Last-Minute DIY Christmas Gifts
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Chelsea-Crockett-DIY-Christmas-Gifts.jpg

Most of us don’t like to admit it, but the majority of us are professional procrastinators.  Whether it be homework, chores, or a lot of other things, I always push dreadful tasks off until I’m forced to do them!  As far as Christmas shopping goes, I can be the same way.  I came up with a few last-minute DIY Christmas gifts that may come in handy!

  • I always use crafty picture DIYs to my advantage. Chelsea Crockett - DIY Choker There are so many different things you can come up with or even take from Pinterest!  Whether it be decorating a picture frame or making a picture wall art, if you’re crafty you should definitely give it a try!

  • Put together a gift card wallet.  You could either buy a pricier wallet and fill it with a few $5 gift cards to their favorite places or buy a cheaper wallet and fill it with $10 or $15 gift cards!

  • FOOD!  Who said you can’t give food as a gift?  You may want to pair it with a little something, but baking up a holiday treat or two or even buying something from a cute cupcake shop would be totally fine in my book :)!

  • DIY jewelry may sound hard to make, but it’s actually pretty simple!  There are tons of different ways to make homemade chokers, bracelets, etc. like the ones on the right!

  • If the person you’re gift shopping for is a makeup fan, put together a small makeup bag filled with different drugstore products!  Pick their favs that you know they’ll love!

If you’re making your own DIY gift this year, share it with me in the comments below!
