Most of us don’t like to admit it, but the majority of us are professional procrastinators.  Whether it be homework, chores, or a lot of other things, I always push dreadful tasks off until I’m forced to do them!  As far as Christmas shopping goes, I can be the same way.  I came up with a few last-minute DIY Christmas gifts that may come in handy!

• I always use crafty picture DIYs to my advantage.  There are so many different things you can come up with or even take from Pinterest!  Whether it be decorating a picture frame or making a picture wall art, if you’re crafty you should definitely give it a try! 


• Put together a gift card wallet.  You could either buy a pricier wallet and fill it with a few $5 gift cards to their favorite places or buy a cheaper wallet and fill it with $10 or $15 gift cards!


• FOOD!  Who said you can’t give food as a gift?  You may want to pair it with a little something, but baking up a holiday treat or two or even buying something from a cute cupcake shop would be totally fine in my book :)!


• DIY jewelry may sound hard to make, but it’s actually pretty simple!  There are tons of different ways to make homemade chokers, bracelets, etc. like the ones on the right!


• If the person you’re gift shopping for is a makeup fan, put together a small makeup bag filled with different drugstore products!  Pick their favs that you know they’ll love!

Choker DIYs

Choker DIYs

Many of the popular trends from last century are starting to make their way back into the fashion world.  One of which is chokers, which have started to appear in stores and sold by various brands across the board.  You may want a specific choker that you can’t find online or in stores, so… why not make it yourself?

If you like simple, create your own ribbon choker.  This is probably the easiest way to make your own necklace!  Just purchase some black ribbon, whatever you prefer, and measure its length to fit around your neck.  You can either make it a little longer and tie it behind your neck or you can fasten it together with a mini safety pin.  How quick and easy is that?

For me, I like to add a little more to my choker such as beads or dangles.  You can find these at most craft stores!  Pick out your initial, your favorite animal, etc.  Customize it as you wish!  You’ll also need a thin black ribbon or thick string to slide your bead onto.  If you want a super simple way to keep it on, just tie a small bow behind your neck.  Your hair will most likely cover it!

Recently, I’ve been brainstorming how I want my dorm room to look like. I’ve found different decorations and necessities to style my dorm the way I want it. With only so much space in your dorm room, you’re going to need some hacks to make moving in a little easier! You’ll also need some hacks for making your dorm as stylish as it can be, too!

• Most residence halls at college will allow you to put your beds whatever way you want them. You can bunk them, loft them, or leave them normal. Lofting your bed gives you a whole new area of storage under your bed! You can put your clothes in plastic drawers or bins and store them easily.
• iPhone chargers can be hard to tell apart, especially if you’re living with a few roommates. Customize yours by adding colorful tape or simply writing your initials on it so you don’t lose it!
• Dropdown hangers allow you to store your shirts and dresses much easier. The picture on the right shows you just how much space they can save!
• For storing your jewelry, purchase a cork board that you can decorate to match your dorm room. After hanging it on the wall, you can use tacks to hang all of your necklaces! It works perfectly!

Festival season is amongst us! Coachella in April and many more to follow throughout the summer that are on my not to miss list. Festival style mainly revolves around the Boho-styled look. Lots of jewelry, fun patterns, and unique materials are fun to experiment with for your festival! Here are some pointers when picking out your outfit!

At festivals like Coachella, picking out your outfit is only the first step. Accessorizing should be your main focus in putting together your look. Fringe purses, circular sunglasses, and chunky rings are all in this year. The picture on the left shows someone who took accessorizing to another level. Metallic tattoos are so cute and can be bought in gold or silver to match your jewelry. Check them out!

As far as the actual outfit goes, Boho patterns are where it’s at. Loose patterned shorts and rompers are not only comfy but stylish! I’ve recently been seeing two reoccurring trends in upcoming festival style: hats and midi cardigans. Hats are fashionable and are perfect for being in the sun all day! As for midi cardigans, ones that are patterned and light-weighed are cute and good for the heat.

If you’ve seen pictures of over-accessorized wrists and hands with indie styled jewelry, then we’re already on the same page! The picture above shows someone rocking the boho styled accessory look. There are four main steps to complete this trend yourself. Keep reading to find out how you can achieve it, too :)!

1. Boho styled outfits usually incorporate subtle or neutral tones. Paint your nails a color that go along with this color scheme and match the jewelry you’re going to pair with it. I love how the girl on the right went with white nails to compliment her silver jewelry. Try it out!
2. Next come the rings. Whatever color you choose for your jewelry, it all needs to match. If you go all gold, keep the gold color scheme. Same with silver, rose gold, etc. Layer different styled rings with a variety of jewels and shapes.
3. After you have your rings, find some bangle bracelets to go with them. Alex and Ani is known for their bangles and are perfect for layering.
4. The last step is optional and only adds to the boho, indie theme! Metallic tattoos such as the ones above are fun to try out! They remind me of Henna tattoos but are easier to get off and much less expensive. You can find them at a variety of different stores such as Topshop, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, etc.

A girl who likes to travel can never know too many travel tips! Anything that makes the process of getting from one place to another easier should definitely be brought to our attention. I found a few DIY travel hacks that make packing and traveling simpler and easier on your part!

• Jewelry can be one of the trickiest things to pack. It can often get tangled or simply lost in your suitcase. One way to sort your earrings is by using an old pill separator. Put a different pair in each of the different days so they don’t get lost or mixed together.
• Another way I’ve seen people store their earrings is in empty chapstick tubes. Depending on how many you need to take, pick the best method for you!
• Use a pot holder for storing your straightener or curler. It works as a heat-safe travel case so you don’t have to spend the money on an actual one!
• For chargers or headphones, use an old glasses case like the picture on the right. Wrap them up to save some space and simply line them up so they don’t get tangled together!
• Instead of throwing a bunch of bobby pins in your bag, use an empty tic tac case. They fit perfectly!
• To prevent shampoo or conditioner spills, use plastic wrap to cover the lids or place the entire container in a large Ziploc bag. Especially with altitude changes, this tip can be extremely helpful!

There’re so many more tips and hacks that can be extremely useful for travelers! Find the ones that benefit you and make your life easier!

Jewelry comes in all shapes and sizes... And not to forgot styles and designs!  I love the outdoors and basically anything that has to do with nature. I"ve found some brands and accessories that have a nature vibe to them for the outdoor lovers!

As I"ve written an article on them before, Alex and Ani has tons of bangle bracelets that represent almost anything including adventure, nature, life, etc.  They have bracelets with the tree of life, certain animals and their tracks, adventure themed symbols, and many others.  They"re so cute and you can pick from a large variety!

If you love the mountains, I found the perfect necklace on Pinterest for you! It’s called the Change of Scenery Necklace and can be found on modcloth.com. The picture on the left is a little preview for you! I’m in love with it and it’s only $15! The reviews and ratings on it are great saying that the quality is awesome for its price. Lastly, Etsy also has a variety of nature-oriented products. I found a set of necklaces in particular that have a cool concept to them! They each have a stone with a charm hanging off of it. Boho jewelry has made its stylish statement in the fashion world as it sweeps the pages on Pinterest and appears on everyone’s Instagram feeds! On Pinterest (of course) I discovered a jewelry brand called Indie and Harper that offers a variety of necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc. I am so obsessed!

Their necklaces are the main source of attraction to their brand. One of their most popular necklaces is the Half Moon Pendant Necklace shown on the right! It’s $35 but I think it’s totally worth it! They also have a wide variety of other designs such as a whale tail, a feather, rose quartz, etc. Most are cheaper than other jewelry brands and their quality is just as good!

If you’re more of a bracelet or ring girl, you’ll be obsessed with these too! Most of their rings are super simple, but include a cool stone or emblem! Indie and Harper is really big on stones which can be cut tiny to add some extra decoration to your ring. As far as the bracelets go, there isn’t as big of a selection but still worth a look!

Brands that have a meaning behind them are higher in my book than brands or companies that don’t. Alex and Ani is a jewelry brand that doesn’t sell accessories for the sole purpose of looking fashionable. Although their necklaces and bracelets are totally stylish, they each have a certain meaning behind them that I wanted to tell you a little about!

To start off, their bangles are definitely the brand’s main attraction. Their original style has a main symbol that dangles from an either gold or silver bracelet. Each symbol represents three things, such as love, friendship, loyalty, adventure, etc. For example, the Path of Life Charm Bangle represents strength, motivation, and knowledge. Another one of my favorites is the Sailboat Charm Bangle which represents courage, adventure, and transition. Each bracelet comes with a little card to remember the meaning behind it!

Apart from bangles, they also have bracelets, necklaces, earrings, scarves, handbags, etc. Since you all know I am very religious, I love the jewelry that has a cross on it. You can find one on a necklace, a bangle, or a bracelet to not only represent Christ, but life, union, and immortality as well.

Alex and Ani has an awesome meaning and concept behind them. They make for perfect gifts considering each piece is usually around $30. I highly suggest you check them out. You won’t regret it!

Pandora is my go-to store for all things jewelry. Not only is their selection amazing, but their prices are affordable and reasonable. In my opinion, rings are totally underrated. Necklaces and bracelets seem to be the main focus of accessory talk. To switch things up, I thought I"d highlight the different styles and colors of Pandora rings you can check out for yourself!

Most of their rings that are on the affordable side are only about $45-$90! They make for a perfect gift… or a nice treat for yourself :). You can pick from gold, two tone, silver, white gold, or Pandora rose metal. You can also choose from several different colors of stones from blue to pink or red to green. The rings on the left are examples of the Pandora rose metal with a heart stone or the love ring! How cute are those? Especially with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, they’re the perfect gift to put in your crush’s head! They have simple rings without a stone or rings with lots of bling. You pick! Some of the rings you can even layer for a more complex look. The possibilities are endless.

I’ve recently been on an accessory kick. I love all the new, edgy jewelry and shoes that have come into the fashion world! Since I’m an Instagram fanatic, I’ve seen tons of chic looks that are ten times more stylish due to the trendy accessories they pair with it. Here’s a little insight on the newest ways to accessorize!

• Gold and silver watches, such as Michael Kors and Fossil, have been big for a while now. I saw on Pinterest that stores are starting to sell matte black watches! How edgy is that? Some of the watches are accented with silver or gold so you can pair the rest of your jewelry accordingly!
• I love owning a couple pairs of rain boots to change out for the rainy/snowy weather. Instead of patterned, glossy boots, stores are starting to take a turn to matte dull colored ones. I’m obsessed! A brand of boots called Hunter has a wide variety you can choose from. They might be expensive, but their quality is great!
• Since boots are the big thing for fall and winter, you’ll need some that can dress up an outfit! Wedge booties are SO cute and come in all different kinds. The ones on the right are one of my fave pairs!
• Last, but definitely not least, are boot cuffs! Instead of finding socks long enough to stick out of the top of your boots, you can get knitted cuffs to do the job for you.

Pendants: Etsy has a TON of raw stone/crystal pendants on their site. A simple stone pendant can add character and uniqueness to any outfit. I recommend pairing a simple flowey top with a stone pendant and dark jeans with suade booties and a felt hat for a free spirited look.

Rings: These are also very popular on Etsy. If I could I would rock one of these on every finger! I love the subtle earty tone these rings add to your look. You can literally wear these with every outfit!

Crystal cuff: Crystal cuff bracelets are another way to make this trend work for you. Each one is so unique because of the stones featured on them. You can find tons of them on Etsy!

Everybody wants in on all things quicker and cheaper. Whether it’s easy beauty fixes or affordable DIY shorts, we want to hear it! I’ve discovered a few fashion hacks that work well and don’t empty your wallet!

• Rub a pair of jeans on your shirt to get rid of deodorant stains. It’s definitely not the first thing you think of to get rid of stains! Make sure you use an older pair of jeans that won’t rub any color off on your shirt. It’s as simple as that!


• We’ve all had that day where our moms ask us to get rid of any clothes we don’t wear anymore. Then we find ourselves frantically searching for any clothes to throw out! Here’s a tip: turn all of your hangers a certain way. Then, whenever you put something back in your closet, switch the hanger the opposite way. After a certain amount of time, you can see which clothes you’ve actually worn lately! Problem solved!


• If you’ve ever sat on your bed untangling a necklace for half an hour, this tip’s for you! You’ll need to buy a box of tiny zip-lock bags and something to keep your jewelry in (jewelry box, sectioned container, etc.) Then, take each piece of jewelry and place them in a separate bag. You can organize the bags in several different ways such as by necklaces, bracelets, and earrings or by how casual to how dressy each piece is… however you think it will be easiest to keep organized!

What’s better than walking around you house in a big t-shirt and no pants?  Nothing!  Can I get an “amen” girls?!  The second best thing is a t-shirt dress, AKA a long, comfy tee that is actually stylish!  Even better?  It’s totally acceptable to wear almost anywhere!  Check out how to style a t-shirt dress for any occasion!

The simplest way to rock a t-shirt dress is to throw it on with sandals and some jewelry for warmer months.  I love adding a scarf and hat to bring more to the outfit.  This is perfect for a lunch date or shopping.  It’s even comfy enough to wear around the house, not to mention it’s super cute too!  Once it starts getting cooler, a long-sleeved t-shirt dress is the way to go!  Try it with a pair of boots and a quilted vest.  You can always dress it up with flats or wedges and a cardigan.

Accessories are the key to dressing your t-shirt dress up or down.  The more accessories you add, jewelry, purse, type of shoes, hats/headbands, the dressier your outfit will become!  Experiment with different colors, patterns, and accessories.  The possibilities are endless with styling your dress!  Comment below if you own a t-shirt dress and what’s your favorite way to end it.

Keeping my room clean is a HUGE struggle.  I’ve got clothes everywhere, magazines scattered all over my bed, and makeup upon makeup all over my vanity.  So how do I fix this problem?  I’ve finally come up with multiple organization tips that have really helped me keep my room clean and will benefit you as well.  Let’s get started!

Clothes, clothes, and more clothes…how do you fit so many clothes in a small closet?!  I only hang up nicer clothes, like dresses, skirts, and nice shirts.  The rest, I fold and organize by type: pajamas, shorts, tees, tanks, etc.  This way, you can find what you’re looking for easily.  Just place in drawers and voilà!                If you’re a makeup guru like me, then you’ve got lots of brushes.  A cute way to store your brushes is to place them in a fish bowl.  Sounds weird, I know, but trust me!  Add fun colored sand, rocks, or seashells to the bottom of the fish bowl and then place the brushes upside down so they stand upright.  It’s a cute, stylish way to showcase your makeup brushes.  Just place them on your vanity and there you go!  Cubbies are probably the greatest organization tool around.  They come in all sorts of colors and hold just about anything.  I like to keep cubbies under my bed and place all of my magazines in them. That way, I can access my magazines quick and easy.  It looks good too!  You can find the perfect sized cubbies right here on Amazon:http://tiny.cc/Cubbies.  Last, jewelry racks can be purchased at Target and display your jewelry in a cute and classy way.  It makes everything easy to find and it’s sort of like a decoration for the room.  Apply these tips and your room will be nice and organized!

When it comes to jewelry, I love the phrase “less is best.” A popular trend right now is minimalist jewelry. In a nutshell, it means wearing simple pieces. Less is more when it comes to the minimalist trend, which means making the few pieces you are wearing the focus of your outfit. It means using your jewelry tastefully! Here are a few pieces that totally encompass the minimalist trend!

1. Midi rings: These rings are SO in! They are so boho and so chic. All the celebs are going nuts over them, I see them wearing these rings on Instagram all the time! They add a little more character and style to your outfit. 


2. Simple necklace: I love necklaces that are versatile, that you can wear with both dressy and casual outfits. Minimalist necklaces totally fit that mold. They are delicate and simple, and go with anything.


3. Chic earrings: When I think minimalist earrings, I thing small, delicate, and simple. They add just enough detail to your  outfit without taking attention away from the rest of your ensemble.
