The Tomboy Trend: How to Still Look Girly

The Tomboy Trend: How to Still Look Girly

Hi Insiders,

Nothing says comfy-cozy like throwing on an over-sized tee and a pair of sneakers.  Lucky for you, the tomboy trend has been seen all over the streets of NYC and LA and is totally acceptable to rock!  So what if you want to try the trend, but are afraid of looking too much like a boy?  Follow a few of my simple tips to give the tomboy look a girly flare.

The tomboy trend focuses on over-sized clothing, comfortable shoes, and messy hair.  Although it may sound impossible, it IS possible to make this look girly.  Instead of wearing an over-sized tee, try an over-sized sweater instead.  A sweater instantly takes the look from masculine to feminine.  Go for a sweater that hit below the waist, it should not be form fitting.  If you’re not one to wear baggy pants, then leggings are always a great option.  Add your favorite pair of sneakers and a ball cap and your tomboy outfit is complete! Chelsea Crockett- tomboy look

Another great tomboy look is skinny ripped jeans with a tee and open flannel.  It’s a really simple look that I’m sure you can find in your closet already! Don’t afraid to add a pair of stud earrings for a little more added girliness.  Take advantage of this comfy trend while it is popular!  Trends are always changing!

Love,

Chelsea

DIY Hair Bow!

DIY Hair Bow!
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Blend5.jpg

I don’t know if you all love bows, but I sure do. There is just something so fun and flirty and feminine about them! Today I am going to tell you how to create a super cute hair style where you use your hair to create a bow! Read on!

1. Pull your hair into the half-up half-down style, pulling the hair roughly from ear to ear. The more hair you take the bigger the bow will be!

 2. When you are pulling your hair back into the half-up half-down ponytail, once you have wrapped the ponytail holder around your hair twice, don’t pull the hair all the way through. Leave your hair in the loop/bubble position. Face the hair that is sticking out of the bubble towards your forehead.

 3. Split your bubble in half. This is what is making both sides of the bow! Take the hair that is sticking out of the bubble, the ends of your hair, and pull it down the middle where you split your hair. Hold it in place.

4. Use bobby pins to secure the bow and pin any stray hairs into the bow. Mist with hair spray.

Easy, right? I am adding pictures for you visual people, sometimes seeing done helps you do it yourself!

http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/0026-L.jpg

Street style has become a huge trend in LA and NYC.  High waisted shorts, crop tops, lace up boots, and beanies have been seen on many celebrity teens and all throughout big cities in the US.  This style is cute and super trendy, but not necessarily girly or classy.  So what if you want to “girl” Chelsea Crockett- Dress Like A Ladyup your look?  Lace, pearls, and ballerina flats are exactly what you need!  Lace tops, dresses, and shorts are the “girliest” items of clothing you could own.  They can be dressed up or down with accessories and are perfect for any occasion.  Adding a pearl necklace to any outfit, even a pair of jeans and a tee, can take your look from average to girly in a matter of seconds.   The more strands of pearls you add to your look, the nicer your outfit becomes.  Of course, a pair of pearl earrings is a staple as well.

A simple shoe that goes with almost any outfit is a pair of ballerina flats.  They look great with any look from jeans and a top to a dress.  They are comfortable, yet elegant.  You can go from grungy street style during the day to a classic look at night using these simple style tips.  Change up your style and be different.  Remember, stay classy ;).

Love,
