I like to stay up-to-date with the latest trends so I know what’re the next most fashionable and stylish things I should have in my closet!  This upcoming winter, there are a few different trends that I think stand out among the rest, and are so, so cute!  Here are a few trends you’ll need to take note of for the next few months! 🙂

• Double Denim.  Denim is one of my favorite things to rock, whether it be a denim jacket, boyfriend jeans, a denim dress, etc.  It’s a timeless trend that has been around for decades, and now you can rock denim times two!  🙂


• Knit.  When I think of knit, I think of bundling up in a knit sweater during the cold months!  This winter, knit sweaters, ponchos, cardigans, etc. are going to be the perfect way to keep warm and stay fashionable.


• Business Casual.  Certain styles and trends allow you to loosen up and dress down which I love, but this winter, business casual looks are coming back into play!  Things like blazers, collared shirts, and toned down colors are making their statement this year.


• Sportswear.  I love trends that allow me to dress comfy and casual, but still look just as stylish.  Sportswear, or street style, has been in the fashion world for a while, and it’s not going away anytime soon!  Pull out your leggings, sneakers, and a graphic tee, and you’re good to go!

Boyfriend Jeans

I’m sure your closet is bursting with skinny and flare jeans.  They’ve always been the perfect jean to throw on with just about anything; but did you know that a new type of jean has emerged?  Called the boyfriend or slouchy jean, it is perfect for casual lazy days.  With their roomy feel and distressed look, they could really be called dressier sweatpants!  I’ll show you a few great ways to style your new jeans!

Don’t be surprised if your boyfriend jeans feel weird the first time you put them on, especially if you’re used to skinny jeans.  My favorite way to rock boyfriend jeans is with a rolled cuff.  This gives your pants a slimmer affect since they are tight at the ankles.  This way, your legs won’t look frumpy!  Pair your jeans with a fun colored belt and style them with a tight-fitting sweater tucked in and crazy accessories.  This will give your jeans a more upscale girly look.  Another great top to pair with boyfriend jeans is a crop top.  This look is perfect for a concert or a night out with friends.  It’s super casual with that edgy flare.  My favorite shoes to pair with slouchy jeans are flats or heels.  You want to wear shoes that have more of a dramatic effect other than sandals.  The more sparkle, the better.  Since your new jeans have a masculine feel to them, you want to make sure to wear girly tops, accessories, and shoes.  Have fun with this and try out lots of different looks!

Do you hate going jean shopping?  The sizes are crazy, some are too short or too long, they fit in the waist, but are too tight in the thighs, the color is weird, etc.  There are so many crazy reasons why jean shopping can stink!  I’m sure many of you can relate when I say that some styles of jeans look awkward on me.  Well, I’m going to help you find your perfect jean for your body type!

Curvy body type: Try a solid colored jean.  When the jean is faded, it can create the illusion of a thicker leg.  No one wants that!  Also, try rolling your jeans at the hem.  This will add width at the hem, which balance out the hips.  Slim skinny jeans will also flaunt your figure!

Long legs:  If you’ve got long legs, then you’ll want to show them off!  Try buying jeans that are tight in the thighs and wide at the leg.  This will make your legs look even longer and really show them off!

If you’re short: Tight skinny jeans can actually make you look shorter.  Try a pair of loose jeans that don’t hug your body.  They’ll create a good illusion.
