Pastel Lips

Pastel Lips

When you hear of lipstick, most of you are probably used to wearing or seeing the classic colors like hot pink or red.  Lately, a new trend of lipstick colors have arrived and I love them!  Between light pink, lavender, and light coral, pastels are the summers hottest lip colors! Chelsea Crockett- light pink lip

Pastels can be tricky to wear.  Since the color is so light, it shows everything…I’m talking about dryness and cracked lips.  Before trying on a pastel lip color, be sure to exfoliate your lips.  If you don’t have lip scrub, try rubbing a damp washcloth in a circular motion on your lips.  This is an easy way to get the effects of a lip scrub.  Pastel lipstick can also wash you out.  Since most of us are tan in the summer, trying out a pastel lip color during the summer months is ideal!

If you’re going to try a pastel lip, don’t wear a pastel outfit.  This is where most people go wrong!  Try wearing cream, white, and nude colors to offset your lipstick!  This way, your outfit will still be light without being too “matchy”.  Be daring this summer with a pastel lip!  Who knows, maybe you’ll start a new trend in your town!

XOXO,

Chelsea

DIY Lip Scrub

DIY Lip Scrub

Who doesn’t love soft lips?  I know I do!  Soft, smooth lips make wearing lipstick look better and give your face an all-around better look.  I mean, cracked lips aren’t exactly attractive?!  Many lip balms and other lip products moisturize your lips for a short period of time, but do not remove the dead skin.  This dead skin is what gives your look that cracked appearance…gross.  I will show you how to make a once a week DIY lips scrub with 3 simple ingredients.  It’s SO simple!

Chelsea Crockett- DIY Lip Scrub LipsAll you need for the lip scrub is sugar, 1 tsp. of honey, and ½ tsp. of olive oil.  Mix the olive oil and honey together in a small bowl and then add as much sugar as you please.  Go for a good consistency.  You don’t want to cover up the honey and olive oil with too much sugar.  I like to use about 2 tbsp.  Once all the ingredients are mixed up, apply a small amount to your lips, and rub them together for about a minute.  Remove the mixture with a wet paper towel and there you have it! Soft, luscious lips!

Love,

Chels

Go Out On A Limb With Your Style!

Go Out On A Limb With Your Style!

Summer is such a great time to try new things with your style.  I’m sure many of you have a dress code or uniform at school and cannot fully express yourself.  Now’s the time…be adventurous with your style!  Be bright and step out of your comfort zone with fun pieces.  Add a pair of bright or neon shoes to a dull black and white outfit, or throw on a hot pink purse with jeans and a tee to make your outfit more girly.  The brighter, the better.  Chelsea Crockett- go out on a limb with you styleOnce you’re comfortable with crazy accessories, a closet must-have is a pair of printed shorts and/or pants.  These bottoms can dress up a plain tee and take it to a whole new level.  It’s an easy way to have a chic, effortless outfit.  Pair any of these fun accessories or outfits with a fun colored lip and hit the town!  All of your friends will want to copy your new, fun style.  Take risks this summer and have fun with your own signature style.

Have fun,

    Chelsea

Highlight Your Best Features!

Highlight Your Best Features!
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Chelsea-Crockett-highlighting.jpg

Hello Ladies,

Highlighting has become one of the biggest beauty crazes this year; and I have to admit, I love it!  Learning where to highlight your face can make the world of a difference.  It makes your face brighter and more awake.  It’s especially great when you feel worn and tired.  Check out the perfect spots to highlight and what you should use for the perfect glow.

One of my favorite products to use when I highlight my face is Benefit’s “Watt’s Up” soft focus highlighter.  It doesn’t cover your face in glitter, just gives it a hint of shimmer.  It’s a stick that you can rub on certain parts of your face and rub in with the sponge attached to the other end.  Although it can be quite expensive, it’s worth it!  If you don’t feel like spending a lot of money, then a light gold or white shimmery cream eye shadow works just as well. Chelsea Crockett- Benefit Watt

Start by highlighting your eyes.  To wake up tired eyes, dab a small amount in the inner corner of your eyes and on your brow bone.  Use your fingers or a face sponge to rub it in smooth.  Next apply a small amount to your outer cheek bones to highlight your features.  This spot really illuminates your face!  Last, place a small amount on the indent above your upper lip.  This creates the illusion of a fuller pouty lip.  Have your best makeup look ever with highlighting!  Who wouldn’t want their face to glow?!

XOXO,

            Chels
