5 Upcoming Hair Trends for Fall

Hair trends are like any other trend, they stay for a season or two then get replaced by even better ones!  This fall, there are a few upcoming looks that you just might have to try out for yourself!  Here are 5 hair trends you should know about for the upcoming season!

• Caramel Brown.  Winter is usually the time to go darker rather than lighter with your hair.  But if you don’t want to go too dark, go with a soft, caramel brown!  You can still switch up your look without going too out of your comfort zone.


• Rose.  If you’re willing to get a little out of your comfort zone, try out a dusty rose color.  Pastel hair has become a trend in the past few years so why not hop on the bandwagon and try it out for yourself!


• Red Accents/Highlights.  I’ve always been a little tempted to try this trend out for myself.  You can get a subtle red tint or go for a full head of vibrant, red highlights.  Whatever suits you best!


• Bold Brown.  Instead of adding subtle brown highlights, be bold and go for a dark, chocolate brown.  Why not, right?!


• Blonde Lowlights.  If you want something a little more natural, try blonde lowlights.  Although you can only get these if you’re already blonde, they give you that darker tint that’s perfect for the winter!

Are you a preppy gal? Do you WANT to be a preppy gal? If you said yes to either of those questions, you are going to want to keep reading! Spring, to me, is a time for pastels and pretty dresses. And preppy styles, of course! Spring is full of mild weather, blooming flowers and blue skies, perfect preppy attire weather if you ask me! Here is my guide to everything essential for the springtime prepster.

1. Sweet sundresses: I LOOOVE when the weather is warm enough to break out my sundresses! Sundresses are great for running around town doing errands, for a day out with the gals, for Church, or even date night!
2. Floral skirts: So feminine and so classic! After months of hiding your legs under jeans and leggings, let them free in a sweet floral skirt. Pair with a simple pastel blouse to balance the look.
3. Pastel button-ups: Oxfords are a preppy wardrobe staple. Pretty pastel ones are a perfect addition to your springtime get-up. Experiment with patterns like gingham to mix things up! Roll the sleeves when it starts warming up, and pair with a monogrammed necklace to finish the look.
4. Classic trench coats: Springtime = rainy days galore! How do you think those May flowers get their beautiful blooms? April showers, of course! Beat the rain and chilly mornings with a classy camel trench coat. They are so versatile and timeless, so they go with just about anything!

Spring is the perfect time to rock a midi skirt. What is a midi skirt, you ask? It is a skirt that is in-between the length of a maxi skirt and a mini skirt. It comes to your knees and is a classy, retro piece that I love! Midi skirts are perfect for spring because they are not too long so you don’t get too hot, and not to short so you don’t get chilly! Here are a few of my favorite spring midi skirt styles.

1. Floral: I love this floral midi from Lulus. It has sort of a watercolor look to it. The floral print is so feminine and darling! This ensemble would be the perfect grad party wear.
2. Pastel: Pastel midis are chic and classic. They give you an understated, elegant look that is just timeless. If you desire a simple, sweet ensemble, pair a pastel midi skirt with a simple sweater and wedges or heels. This is a great spring church outfit or brunch look!
3. Bright: If you are looking to make a statement, then grab a bright colored midi! I love this hot pink retro-ish skirt. It gives off a fun, carefree vibe. This skirt is also from Lulus!

When you hear of lipstick, most of you are probably used to wearing or seeing the classic colors like hot pink or red.  Lately, a new trend of lipstick colors have arrived and I love them!  Between light pink, lavender, and light coral, pastels are the summers hottest lip colors! 

Pastels can be tricky to wear.  Since the color is so light, it shows everything…I’m talking about dryness and cracked lips.  Before trying on a pastel lip color, be sure to exfoliate your lips.  If you don’t have lip scrub, try rubbing a damp washcloth in a circular motion on your lips.  This is an easy way to get the effects of a lip scrub.  Pastel lipstick can also wash you out.  Since most of us are tan in the summer, trying out a pastel lip color during the summer months is ideal!

If you’re going to try a pastel lip, don’t wear a pastel outfit.  This is where most people go wrong!  Try wearing cream, white, and nude colors to offset your lipstick!  This way, your outfit will still be light without being too “matchy”.  Be daring this summer with a pastel lip!  Who knows, maybe you’ll start a new trend in your town!
