Peppermint Candy Ornaments

Peppermints are as festive as it gets. No matter what time of year it is, the smell of peppermints never gets old. It is so refreshing! The ornaments I am going to teach you how to make are totally festive, totally adorable, and totally perfect for any Christmas tree! And, not to mention, totally cheap!

What you need:

• Peppermint candies


• Metal cookie cutters


• Non-stick cooking spray


• Parchment paper

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and then spray the inside of your cookie cutters with cooking spray. Lay the cookie cutters on the cookie sheet and fill them with peppermint candies. Squeeze as many peppermints side by side into the cookie cutters. If you layer the candies on top of each other the ornaments will be thicker and stronger. Bake the sheets for 5 to 10 minutes and keep an eye on the candy as it melts. Remove the tray from the oven when the candies have melted together. Lightly coat a toothpick with cooking spray and use it to make a hole in each group of candies. Let the candy sit inside the cookie cutters until it hardens and cools. Once it has hardened, carefully stretch out the cookie cutter and gently pull the cookie cutter away and pop the candy out.

Now all you have to do is string some ribbon through the holed in ornaments and then decorate with them! They will fill your house with a fresh, peppermint scent and they will also add some color to your tree!
