Since spring is amongst us and summer is quickly on its way, we might as well get crafty and in the spring spirit! Flowers are my favorite part about spring. I love all of the different colors that make the outdoors even more beautiful. While scrolling through Pinterest the other day, I found the cutest DIY that’s simple and perfect for the season!

First off, you’ll need to get your supplies. You will need a hot glue gun, spray paint (optional), scissors, fake flowers (whatever color matches your room!), and a hollow letter (which you can make yourself with another DIY or you can find it online or at select décor stores!). Pick out which fake flowers will go together and match your room colors.

Next comes the real fun. Depending on what color your letter is, you can spray paint it whatever shade will match your room! While your letter is drying, take your fake flowers and cut off all of the stems. You just want the top part of the flower which will make it easier to glue them on a surface. After your stems are cut, make sure your glue gun is ready to go. Apply hot glue on the surface where you will put your flower one at a time. Place your flower on the glue and hold it till it sticks! Arrange each flower how you want it!

It’s as simple as that! Depending on whether you set it on your dresser or hang it on your wall, it’ll help get you (and your room) in the spring spirit!

Spring is one of the prettiest times of the year! All around you, flowers are starting to appear! Flowers are not only gorgeous and a perfect gift, but a fashion statement as well. What better time to rock some sunflowers than spring?

If you’ve checked out the latest issues of fashion magazines, you have seen all the popular trends that involve floral jewelry. Chunky necklaces, like the one on the right, are super cute and classy.  To check out some of these necklaces, click here!  Other accessories, such as earrings and bracelets, are just as stylish. It totally fits the mood of spring!

Other accessories can be found right outside your front door :)! I know a lot of us have tumblrs, and I’ve seen this on my feed many times. Go outside and pick out some flowers, depending on how long your hair is. Then braid, or fishtail, your hair. After your hair is in a nice (or messy!) braid, put the flowers randomly throughout your hair. Look at the pictures on the left for example, so creative!

To state the most obvious trend for spring is the floral pattern. This pattern is cute on almost any article of clothing. My favorite place to see this design is on simple sundresses! They’re perfect for a day out shopping or lunch with your friends!

Mother’s Day is the perfect time for showing our moms just how much we appreciate them! Think of how much your mom has done for you without complaining and grumbling. Whether it was taking me to dance practice or dropping me at a friend’s house, my mom was happy to do it. Here are a few ‘do it yourself’ gifts to show a way of repaying them this Mother’s Day!

Here is a perfect suggestion for those who are a little more artistic! If your nearby pottery shop doesn’t sell one, find a different store where you can buy a pot. If you can find a white one, even better! Then buy some acrylic paints and go to town! After finishing your masterpiece, let it dry and add some of your mom’s favorite flowers. Don’t forget to keep them hydrated and in the sunlight!

For those who struggle with their artistic side, here is a perfect way to thank your mom for all she’s done. For the nights your mom has stayed up waiting for you to get home or taking care of you when you’re sick, make her a sleep basket. If your mom’s a tea drinker, get all different kinds of tea for her to make before bedtime (peppermint, green, lemon, etc.). Other things to put in the basket could include a candle, lotion, sleep mask, blanket, “do not disturb” sign, etc.

Another cute idea is to take a bunch of old family recipes and make them into one big cookbook! Or try a coupon book with things such as “good for one family game night/movie night” or “good for dinner cooked by me!” Stuff like that shows that the little things do count!
