Clever Ways to Sneak Spinach into Your Diet

Clever Ways to Sneak Spinach into Your Diet
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Chelsea-Crockett-spinach.jpg

We all know that spinach is one of the healthiest foods out there!  This leafy green is important for the health of our hair, skin, and bones; and provides our body with a handful of vitamins and minerals.  Unfortunately not everyone likes spinach, but since it is mild in taste, adding it to some of your favorite dishes is an easy way to sneak it in.  If you use it in the right ways, you won’t even know you’re eating it!

  • When making a smoothie, add a handful of spinach leaves to your blender.  Although your smoothie will come out green, you won’t even be able to taste the spinach!

  • Love deli wraps or Mexican burritos?  Try making them with a spinach wrap instead of a flour tortilla.

  • Tear up spinach leaves and add them to your normal house salad.  This way, you will notice the crunchiness of the lettuce, not the spinach.

  • If you’re going out to eat and always order the cheese queso for an appetizer, try spinach and artichoke dip instead.  Although it is not particularly healthy, it still has a few health benefits despite all the creamy cheese.

  • Finely dice up spinach and add it to your next omelet or pasta dish.  The sauces and extra toppings will cover up the spinach taste.  Also, if you dice the spinach up enough, you won’t even notice when you’re eating it and when you’re not.

It’s important for your body to get the nutrients it needs!  Try incorporating spinach into your daily diet whenever you can!

Summer Preppy Style

Summer Preppy Style
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/chelsea-crockett-summer-preppy-style.jpg

I love the “preppy” style of clothing. It is so classy and chic! What IS “preppy” exactly? It is a style that embodies everything classy. Fall preppy includes dark wash jeans, riding boots, a white button-up cotton shirt, and a navy blazer with big pearl earrings and an oversized gold watch. Summer preppy, however, is a different story! Want to stay classy this summer? Then take these style tips! Here are 3 preppy summer outfits to wear to any graduation parties, fun events, or just out with friends!

If you are going casual, opt for colored shorts and a denim button up. The colored shorts are offset by the simple denim, which makes for a great combo! I love a cute pair of light yellow shorts with a denim button up. Top the outfit off with a pair of white Keds sneakers!

If you are going a little bit more dressed up, pull on a pair of white jeans with a gingham button up, a thick brown belt, and a pair of classy sandals. The white pants and button up are a super cute combo, and the belt just ties the look together. When choosing sandals, grab a simple pair, not ones with a ton of straps or buckles. chelsea crockett dress

If you are looking for something dressier, this next outfit is for you. Slip on a cute retro summer dress with big pearl earrings and black wayfarer sunglasses. So cute and so comfy!

I know I will be rocking the preppy look this summer, will you?

How to Wear Orange Lipstick…the Right Way

How to Wear Orange Lipstick…the Right Way
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Chelsea-Crockett-orange-lip.jpg

Orange lipstick can be a tricky lip color to wear.  It requires the right outfit, the right bronzer and the right blush.  To truly pull off an orange lip, follow my simple guide to get the perfect look!Chelsea Crockett- orange lipstick

When it comes to pulling off an orange lip, it’s all about the tan.  If you’re someone who tans easily, wait until you’ve been out in the sun a few times before trying this color.  If you tend to stay pretty pale, then try a shimmery bronzer!  Start by applying the bronzer to your cheek bones and outer part of your forehead.  (Remember: never apply bronzer all over your face!  This will make your makeup looked caked on and make you look darker than you should.)  Finish off your face with a light pink blush!

Two of my favorite shades of clothing to wear with orange lipstick are hot pink and nude.  If you want to stick to the neon trend, throw on a hot pink dress or top.  The contrast of colors will help each one stick out!  If you want to go a more subtle route, try a flesh colored top or dress to let your lips be the primary focus.

I hope all of you can try out this new makeup trend this summer!!

Love,

Chelsea

Hairstyles to Beat the Heat

Hairstyles to Beat the Heat
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/chelsesa-crockett-summer-hair-styles.jpg

Where I live, the summers get hotter than the devil’s underpants. Wearing your hair down in that kind of weather is not exactly ideal, so you have to learn how to find cute ways to keep your hair back. Here are three adorable hair styles to keep you locks off of your neck!396x529

  1. Big bun with a scarf: Twist your hair into a large bun (you can do a “sock bun”) and then wrap a decorative scarf

    around the bun. So boho!

  2. Headband roll: Place an elastic headband around your hair like a halo. Start twisting your hair up and around the head band, just like the picture! So simple, yet so cute!

  3. Fishtail braids: Fishtail braids are my favorite braid of all! They can be perfect for any outfit, weather you are dressed up or dressed down. You can pull a few strands out of the braid to loosen it up and make it a little messier for a more casual look.

Beat the heat this summer with these cute looks!

XOXO, Chels
