Are you new at the whole “makeup” thing? I know when I first started wearing makeup I had no clue what I was doing, and it was a little scary! It is hard to know where to even start! That is when I started watching YouTube videos to help show me how to do my makeup, and then once I learned I started making videos of my own. Eye makeup is my favorite because your eyes are what most people look at when they are talking to you and are the “windows to the soul.” Here are a few tips that helped me master the art of eye makeup:

Liner tips:

• Use primer on your eyelids before you apply liner to avoid smudged liner


• When you want your eyes to look bigger, use a white liner pencil on the inner rims of your eyes and the black liner on the outside.


• Another tip on how to make your eyes look bigger is to use a softer pencil that smudges easily to make a more natural line.


• Make sure to keep your liner as close to your lash line as possible so it blends seamlessly with them.

Mascara tips:

• Apply mascara near the roots and the not the tips or your lashes to make your eyelashes look longer.


• Make sure your eyelashes don’t clump together because they will look yucky, and to avoid this shake the brush horizontally to separate them while applying mascara.


• For the bottom eye lash, you can use a tissue paper to prevent spoiling your makeup.

Eye shadow tips:

•  Brush the base color (lightest color) on the eyes up to the brow bone first, then apply the lid color (the medium color) and lastly the highlighter (the darkest color).


• Accentuate your eyes by using the same eye shadow as the color of your eye.

Hopefully these little tips will help you become a master at eye makeup! It is not too hard once you get the hang of it. J

Quick & Simple DIY Group Halloween Costumes

Dressing up for Halloween never gets old.  Whether you’re 5 or 25, everyone finds a little bit of enjoyment in finding the perfect costume!  Although there’s nothing wrong with dressing up solo, getting your friends together to pull off an awesome group costume makes the night even more memorable!

• If you need something super quick and simple, emoji t-shirts are the answer!  All you need to do is purchase plain yellow t-shirts from Walmart, Target, etc.  Pick your fave emoji and create the face on your shirt using whatever color felt material you need.  Simply cut out the shapes and hot glue each piece of felt onto your shirt!


• If you have a big enough group, be the seven dwarves from Snow White!  All you need are different colored long-sleeved shirts (colors that the dwarves wear), beanies, felt (black, yellow, and white), laced boots, and high white socks.  For the white felt, cut letters and hot glue them to the shirt to spell out whoever you are, whether it be Happy or Sleepy!  With the black felt, make a belt with a square yellow buckle on the front.  After you do this, you’re set!


• Basing costumes off you and your friend’s favorite movie is easy and such a fun idea!  There are so many movies to pull costume ideas from such as Disney movies, Mean Girls, etc.  Pick the easiest and best one to go off of and go from there!

Decorating my room is something I love to do.  Since it’s my own space, I ultimately get to decide what hangs on the walls or goes on my dresser.  With fall in full swing, the decorations are as well!  Since DIYs are one of my favorite pastimes, adding a festive touch makes for the perfect DIY room décor!

• During fall, you can never have too many pumpkins.  Several stores sell mini pumpkins that are easy to decorate and store in your room!  Buy some paint, glitter, etc. to match your room and make your pumpkin into the perfect decoration.


• Make your own pumpkin spice candle!  You might be thinking what?  You can do that?  There are tons of recipes online to create your own fall scented candle. You can burn it and fill your room with the sweet smell of pumpkin spice!


• I’ve always loved decking out my room with twinkle lights to make it warm and cozy.  To get a little more festive, purchase orange or yellow-tinted twinkle lights to hang around your room.  Along with your other fall decorations, these will finish off the job and create the perfect autumn atmosphere!

Lipstick is one of my favorite things to play around with.  Whether I’m rocking a bold lip or a subtle nude, I never leave the house without it in my purse!  I’ve discovered some ways to take my lipstick game to a whole new level, so I thought I’d share them with you all as well!

• Lip Liner.  If you’ve never tried lip liner, then you don’t know how big of a difference it can actually make!  I love the crisp look it gives to my lips.  Not only does it seal the deal, but it makes your lips pop even more than they do with just lip stick!


• Ombré Lips.  You might’ve never even heard about this trend, but I assure you it’s super fun and unique!  The picture on the right shows a perfect example of bold, yet subtle ombré lips.  There are tons of tutorials online to show you how to pull off this new trend!  (It’s not as hard as you think!)


• Dark Shades.  Darker shades don’t get enough credit!  A whole look can change by simply adding a maroon lip.  If you don’t think dark shades are your thing, give them a try anyways.  You might surprise yourself!

I love the feeling I get after a workout, when my muscles are sore and I am exhausted but also feel completely energized at the same time. New studies are showing that, not only is exercise vital to your physical and mental health, it also saves you money!

How? Let me explain. Studies are showing that regular exercise can save you up to a couple thousand dollars a year in medical bills. Exercising for at least 30 minutes five times a week leads to fewer hospitalizations, and ER and doctor visits! I don’t know about you, but I will do almost anything to avoid having to go to the doctor. It is important,

though, that you are doing the right kind of exercise. Thirty minutes of moderate to intense activity, which is things like fast walking or lawn mowing, five days a week count. Also, 25 minutes of vigorous activity, like running or swimming, 3 days a week works too! Both of these options help boost your heart health and your overall health!

It is obvious that the most important reason to exercise is to keep you mentally and physically healthy, but if you needed even more motivation, just think of the money it saves you!

There are some days when the last thing I want to do is put on a full face of makeup, and then there are days when I straight up don’t have time to do it! On those days, I try to at least wear some sort of lip color to give my face some warmth and to make it look like I at least sort of tried to look put-together. But, in order to be able to really truly rock lip color, your lips need to be prepped for it. Here are two ways to prep your lips for lipstick so your lips don’t feel like they’re being sucked of moisture and also so their cracks and crevices aren’t showcased.

1. Sugar scrub: If your lips are dry, use a sugar scrub to clear the dead skin off. It is more gentle than a salt scrub and is better for the delicate skin on your lips.


2. Toothbrush method: Take a clean toothbrush and use it to scrub the dead skin from your lips. Not as sweet as the first option, but just as effective! The only difference? Most of us have a toothbrush on hand, but not all of us have a sugar scrub sitting around.

Both methods will give you a clean, smooth surface for your lipstick. Having lipstick stick to your dead skin and clump is always an awkward look, so this prevents that scenario all together! If you want a more polished pout, try one of these two methods before applying your lip color!

New York Fashion Week is the greatest week of the year!  Although I didn’t get to go, I still love looking at all the runway looks and trends.  This year, all of the designer’s showed off some of their most stylish collections ever!  Here’s a short recap of the week and how you can be up to date with this season’s hottest trends!

• Muted orange.  Obviously fall colors are always a huge “yes” during the season, but the orange shade above is a big one this fall!


• Mismatch/patched jeans.  In a lot of the runway shows this year, designers featured jeans that had patches from other shades and materials of jeans.  It might sound odd, but they actually turned out super stylish and unique!


• Formal Boho/festival wear.  The Boho style has been around for a while, but it’s usually more casual, festival wear.  This season, there’s more of an emphasize on formal Boho wear, such as flowy dresses, skirts, and blouses.


• Sequins and ruffles.  You may be thinking… what?  I don’t mean huge ruffled dresses decked out in sparkly sequins.  What I do mean are simple, detailed looks with a little sparkle!
