How many of you take your lunch to school or work? A lot of times, bringing your lunch is a cheaper, healthier way to eat! When you bring your meals with you, there is a very important accessory that you must think about. Your ice pack! Although they are incredibly important to keeping your lunch cold and to keeping it from spoiling, they can sometimes be pricy and can fall apart and leak all over your food! I found out how to make my own ice packs and love them! They are also perfect for icing injuries because they are flexible! I’ll teach you how to make them!

You will need:

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 cup rubbing alcoholrubbing alcohol

  • Food coloring for the blue tint (optional)

  • 2 Ziploc bags – quart or gallon-size

Mix the water and alcohol together in one of your Ziploc bags and add food coloring, if desired, until you get that perfect blue tint. Release as much air as possible and seal the bag. I would recommend double bagging just to make sure that you don’t have any leeks! Stick your new flexible homemade alcohol ice pack in the freezer for about 12 hours before using it for the first time. It will be icy and a little slushy, which make them perfect for using on any injury because they bend to fit your body part! Try these out and comment below to tell me how they work out for you!

XOXO, Chels
