In John 15:12 the Bible tells us to “Love each other as I have loved you.” It is easy to love your family and friends (most of the time at least 😉 ) but it is not always easy to love those who have done you wrong. So, how do we love everyone, even those we dislike, like God loved us, and why should we?

Easy. Because God says so. I know that is the most “Bible” answer ever, but it is the truth. We should love others like God loves us, because it shows that we are different. When people see how differently you treat others and how you love others, they will be curious as to what it is that makes you different. It is Jesus that makes you different! It is the fact that you know you should love people like God loves you. God loves you even though you have disappointed Him, even though you sin, even though you sometimes do or say things that are harmful or hurtful to others. This is how you should love others, in spite of their flaws and sins. Now, this doesn’t mean you have to be their BFF, it just means you need to treat them with respect and love, just as God treats you.

You will change people’s lives when you love them as God loves you. It is so different from how the world is used to being treated. Be different, and make a difference.
