Things to Remember During Finals Week

Finals week is one of the most stressful weeks of the semester.  Whether you’re in high school or college, we all dread the finals study guides, study sessions, and finally the tests.  There are a few things to keep in mind during the week that can help you stay positive, and most importantly ace your tests to end the semester on a good note!

  • Don’t study too much.  Studying too much especially the night before can cause you to burn out on all the information you’re trying to retain.  Studies have even show that studying till early hours in the morning isn’t effective and leaves you exhausted for your test the next day!Chelsea Crockett - Finals

  • Treat yourself!  If you don’t allow yourself breaks during your study time, then you won’t last very long!  Treat yourself to a break every 30 minutes to an hour.

  • Sleep is important!  I’ve realized that when I don’t get enough sleep, all my motivation goes away.  Sleep is almost just as important as studying for doing well on your test!

  • Your grades don’t define you.  When it comes down to it, your final grade probably won’t make or break your entire semester.  Just know that whatever grade you get back doesn’t define you!  It probably won’t matter that much in a year anyways.
