How to Touch Up With What’s In Your Purse

How to Touch Up With What’s In Your Purse

After a long day of school, work, or running errands, it’s easy for our makeup to fade and look a little messy.  If you have something important to be at after a long day, a quick touch-up is just what you need!  So what do you do if you don’t have your makeup bag on you?  No problem!  Here’s your 101 guide to touching up your makeup with what’s in your purse.Chelsea Crockett- mascara under eye

Getting rid of excess oil built up throughout the day is the first thing you must do in order to touch up correctly.  Blotting paper works best for this, but you can use a tissue instead.  Pat the tissue throughout your T-zone until you feel your skin becoming dryer.  Next, remove mascara and/or eyeliner that has gotten under your eye.  It’s easy for mascara to rub off on your under eyes from constant blinking.  Use the tissue again to wipe this off.  If you’ve got concealer on you, then touch up under your eyes and any blemishes you wish to cover up.  If not, turn the attention elsewhere.  Throw on a bright colored lip gloss or lipstick to make your lips the focus on your face…not that pesky zit!

All of this can be done in less than 5 minutes and is a quick way to refresh your makeup…without your makeup bag!

XOXO,

Chelsea

What would it Take to Work Off....

What would it Take to Work Off....
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/chelsea-crockett-What-would-it-Take-to-Work-Off.....jpg

Do you ever wonder how long it would take to work off something you have eaten? I sure do. As I am sippin on that Dunkin Donuts iced coffee I am thinking just how far I would have to run to work off its sugary goodness. I wonder the same thing about a lot of different foods. Well, wonder no more! Here is a handy dandy list of some of the foods we eat on a regular basis and what it would take to burn them off. Warning: the results may both surprise and scare you!

  • 1 glazed donut: 192 calories= 53 minutes of lunges

  • 1 M&M: 3.4 calories= walking the length of a football field

  • 1 slice of pepperoni pizza: 260 calories= 272 burpees..in a row. Owchie.krispy-kreme-original-glazejpg-21498b2b6b5a9441

  • 1 can of Coke: 140 calories= 17 minutes of jogging outside

  • 1 medium fry: 380 calories= 55 minutes on a stair stepper machine

  • 1 18 ounce milkshake: 780 calories= 65 minutes on the treadmill going 6 mph

  • 2 pancakes & maple syrup: 402 calories= 40 minutes of swimming laps

  • 1 chocolate cupcake: 240 calories= 27 minutes of beach volleyball

  • 1 small theatre popcorn & butter: 630 calories= 135 minutes on the elliptical

Kind of eye-opening, right? I have to admit, though, that it is nice to know what I am getting myself into when I grab myself a glazed donut.. 53 minutes of lunges, that is what! I hope you found these comparisons interesting and keep them in mind just like I am. J

Cold Weather Color

Cold Weather Color
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/chelsea-crockett-Cold-Weather-Color-.jpg

Usually when I think of winter weather fashion I think of shades like white, grey, brown and black and muted, darker tones. In winter the skies are gray, and if you don’t like the cold, your mood is gray as well! One way to drown out the winter blues is to add color to your wardrobe. Here are a few ways to add colors back into your ensembles.tumblr_mzgwwxdp3x1r8w7hqo1_500

  1. Coats: Who says coats have to be neutral colors all of the time? Not me! I love to wear a statement coat, such as my red pea coat, to work some color back into my outfits!

  2. Scarves: Scarves are a great way to spice up your outfit. Wear a statement scarf with a solid shirt to add some dimension.

  3. Hats: I love wearing hats in the winter, and if you follow me on Instagram you totally know what I am talking about! They are a great way to stay warm and look cute at the same time.

  4. Handbags: By adding in a colored handbag to your outfit you can effortlessly slide in some color.

  5. Sweaters: Colored sweaters… a total yes! I have a coral colored sweater that I just love, and I wear it with dark jeans and riding boots for an easy, comfy winter outfit!

How are YOU adding color into your winter wardrobe?

Naturally Treat Razor Burn

Naturally Treat Razor Burn
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Chelsea-Crockett-Naturally-Treat-Razor-Burn.jpg

Being a girl can be tough.  Between dealing with boys, periods, shaving, and a beauty routine, guys have it easy!  When it comes to shaving, it’s easy to get those pesky bumps and razor burn.  Sometimes it goes away in a day; other times it stays for a week.  So what can you do to prevent these burns/bumps from appearing?  Check out these quick and easy home remedies to treat and prevent these annoying burns!Chelsea Crockett- deodorant

  1. If you feel as if you may have gotten a razor burn immediately after shaving, splash ice cold water on the affected area! This will tighten the skin and reduce future inflammation. Lathering the area with aloe after will speed up the heeling process!

  2. As crazy is it may sound, using deodorant on parts of your body other than your armpits can actually prevent razor bumps from forming! Glide a small amount of deodorant on the affected area and watch the bumps disappear!

  3. Did you know that honey has anti-bacterial purposes? It can reduce inflammation and heal razor burn fast! Apply a small amount to the irritated area and let it fully air dry before wiping it off with a damp rag.

  4. If your razor burn itches, try apple cider vinegar! Dab a cotton ball in the apple cider vinegar and rub it on the razor burn. Let it dry before wiping it off! Do this each day until the burning or itching sensation stops!

Being a girl isn’t so bad after all with quick fixes like these!

XOXO,

Chelsea

5 Ways to Style Camo Pants

5 Ways to Style Camo Pants
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/chelsea-crockett-5-ways-to-Style-Camo-Pants-.jpg

To be honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of the “camo” trend when it started popping up recently. I didn’t think I could dress camo up or make it work for me, but I was totally wrong! If you are a little skeptical, then start of slow with just one camo item. Grab a pair of camo pants and hit the ground running! Here are the ways that I made camo cute.camo

  1. Add in chambray: A chambray shirt is always a safe addition to any outfit. Pair your camo pants with a simple chambray button up! The simplicity of the shirt will totally offset the camo pattern.

  2. Just add a jean jacket: One of the easiest ways to rock camo pants is with a jean jacket. Add in a simple tee, some statement jewelry, and some cute converse or booties and you are all set!

  3. Pile on the patterns: Pattern mixing is an art not easily mastered by everyone. But, in this case, mixing a black and white thin-striped shirt with your camo is totally A-OK!

  4. Layer in leather: Looking for an easy edgy outfit? Toss in a leather jacket. Boom, instant edge!

  5. Dress it up: Yes, that’s right, you can dress up camo! It is easy. Add a black peplum and strappy heels and you are good to go!

Are you going to jump on the camouflage train? I totally recommend it!

Selena Gomez"s Fashion & Beauty Tips!

Selena Gomez"s Fashion & Beauty Tips!
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Chelsea-Crockett-Selena-Gomez-Article.jpg

Selena Gomez is not only an actress and singer but a fashion icon to girls around the world! How she manages to look perfect 24/7 makes me wonder how she does it. I found some fashion and beauty tips that reveal a few of her secrets and advice that we can all try out for ourselves!Chelsea Crockett - Selena Gomez Red Carpet

When it comes to accessorizing, Selena always says that less is more! Wearing a simple necklace, a studded bracelet, and a clutch might be all she rocks with her dress on a red carpet. I think we all can learn a little bit from this! If you’re wearing an outfit that already has a lot going on, don’t overdo it with blinged out accessories.

Since she goes by the “less is more” motto, Selena always keeps a natural, fresh face no matter where she goes. I try to do the same! Caking on makeup is never a good idea, especially when it comes to your skin. Keeping your face cleansed and moisturized will help unclog your pores and have a good foundation for when you apply your makeup!

When it comes to style, Selena isn’t one for going all out or overdoing it. Sometimes her go-to outfit is simply a tee, boyfriend jeans, and a solid colored scarf with boots. Keeping a neutral, simple style is hard to do in Hollywood, but she makes it look easy!

Although Selena might like toning down her outfits, style is really all about expressing yourself! She also says to feel free to be yourself and not care what other people think. She’s definitely a role model and beauty icon to look up to!

Love, Chelsea
