Halloween is the one night of the year where you get to be whatever you want to be.  There are so many different costumes and makeup looks you can try out to make it the best Halloween yet!  Mermaid costumes are easy to pull off and fun to create a makeup look for.  Here’s an easy makeup tutorial you can try out this Halloween!

First, let’s focus on the eyes.  You’ll need to apply a teal or lighter blue eyeshadow base on your lids to begin.  Next, take a darker blue and apply it to your brow bone to give your eyes some more depth.  Now, pick a bright purple and apply this to your lower lash line and up to the outer corner of your lid.  Make sure you blend!  You can even add some glitter and shimmer to make your eyes pop even more.

Next comes the fun part.  You’ll need a pair of classic fish net tights to create the “mermaid scale” effect on your skin!  Take your pair of leggings and slide them over your head (try not to mess up your eyeshadow!).  Take a brush covered in purple eyeshadow and dab the brush over the tights on your cheek bone.  You can even incorporate some pinks and blues into your scales as well.  After you’re finished, I suggest taking scissors and cutting off the tights to make sure you don’t smear your product!  Then, you’re finished! 🙂

New Year’s Eve is the one holiday you can go above and beyond with your makeup.  You can rock as much sparkle and glitter as you want since you’ll be ringing in the new year all night long!  In case you wanted to try something new this holiday, here are 3 makeup looks that are perfect for the night ahead!

Gold – If you want your look to focus more on gold tones, try out a look like the one on the right!  Doing a smoky eye with brown shades will create the perfect base to add some gold sparkle.  Fill in your eyebrows and add a maroon lip to seal the deal!

Silver – If your outfit calls for a silver makeup look, focus on black and grey tones.  Since theses shades are darker, I suggest using black only on the outer parts of your lid.  You don’t want to use too many dark shades especially if you normally don’t wear a lot of eyeshadow.  Add a shimmer silver shade over your base.  (You can even add some blue tones to compliment the grey!)

Nude – Maybe you’re not into all of the sparkle and glitter and want to keep it a little simpler.  Pick a couple eye shadows that are more matte rather than shimmer.  You can do a light smoky eye paired with a matte lipstick!  Keep it simple but still complimenting your outfit.

Sooner than later, the leaves will be changing and the temperatures will be dropping.  That being said, some fall wardrobe updating will need to be done!  There are lots of new trends to be aware of this upcoming season.  Different materials, patterns, and looks are going to make their statement in a month or two.  Keep reading to find out how you can be up-to-date!

1. Instead of puffy or fleece vests, try rocking a long-line vest like the one on the right!  They’re much more stylish and can be dressed up or dressed down!


2. Although army jackets are super cute, try wearing a bomber jacket instead.  They have a much more retro feel to them and come in many different colors and patterns!  This is one of my favorite trends going into fall 2016.


3. I have tons of dresses that I love to wear especially in autumn, but one trend that I’ve been seeing everywhere is suede dresses.  I love the material and the look it gives off!


4. Instead of layered or chunky necklaces, don’t be afraid to be simple with chokers!  There are so many different kinds.  You can get a tan suede double stranded choker or a thick black stranded one, whatever you want!

Summer, warm weather, and days in the sun are almost here… But first, graduation! With me being a senior this year, I’m graduating and moving on to bigger and better things. Graduation is a big deal, and I obviously want to look my best for the big day. So, I came up with a little guide on how to style your outfit for graduation day!

First comes first, know your colors. Since it’s spring, see which shades look best with your hair color and skin tone. Use those to your advantage! I love floral patterns during the spring. If you do too, you can always find the pattern you like with which colors go best with you! Not only is floral good for spring, but patterns are always fun to play around with! Don’t be too limited when it comes to patterns and materials. Stripes, lace, chevron, etc. may turn out to be your fave trend!

As far as guidelines go, make sure your dress isn’t too short or too low-cut. Although your gown will be covering up the majority of it, people will still see it for pictures and before and after the ceremony. For your shoes, I would suggest a stylish pair of wedges or casual heels. I prefer wedges because they’re more comfortable and easier to walk in (which is a good idea for walking to get your diploma!).

Whether you’re graduating middle school, high school, or college, graduation is right around the corner!  With so many eyes on you and hundreds of pictures being taken, it’s important to have the right outfit.  It’s time to find the perfect graduation look!

Graduation is a very important event, therefore go for a dress.  When shopping for a dress, avoid anything strapless.  Go for a dress with straps and one you will be comfortable in.  Graduation ceremonies usually last a long time, so you do not want to constantly be pulling up your dress, especially in front of your principals and family members.  Since the weather will be transitioning from spring to summer, go for a fun colored flowy dress as well!  You don’t want to look too business professional, so opt for a dress right above the knee with a bright color or pattern!

Walking across the stage at graduation can be nerve racking, so don’t wear 6 inch heels.  Instead, go for a wedge.  Wedge heels have more support and are easier to walk in!  If you’re still worried about falling, try finding heels that have an ankle strap.  This will prevent your feet from sliding around in your shoe.

     In this day and age, styles and trends come and go and only stay for a season or two.  This season, a trend that’s in, hot, and popular is boho chic.  If you don’t know what it is, boho chic is a bohemian, Indy type style that’s hot in Hollywood right now.  Celebrities such as the Kardashians, Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen have been seen wearing this new trend.

            The boho chic look can be described as usually loose fitting with tie dyed colors, floral patterns, or solids with crocheted lace.  It is most often worn as a dress but some skirts combined with cute shirts can bring on the look, too! 

            If you’re into this look, you can find related clothing at Urban Outfitters or Free People.  Although these stores are a little more expensive, you can ask for their clothing for your birthday or for other events/holidays for gifts.  You can also find this type of clothing at Forever 21 (of course) for a cheaper price.  I love this style because it’s unique and a fun, new way to dress.  It’s also super comfy!  You guys should totally check it out.  Enjoy!
