Pumpkin Spice... And Everything Nice!

Pumpkin Spice... And Everything Nice!
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Chelsea-Crockett-Pumpkin-Spice.jpg

Like I’ve said a million times before, fall is a wonderful time of year.  The changing colors of the leaves and the crisp temperatures make me yearn for the holidays and the recipes that go with them. Pumpkin spice is one of my fall favorites.  Any foods or drinks come in mind :)? Pumpkins are packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.  They are one of nature’s richest sources of vitamin A which promotes healthy vision and immunities for good health. Here are a few pumpkin spice recipes!

Chelsea Crockett - Pumpkin ParfaitHave you ever tried a pumpkin yogurt granola parfait? YUM! You only need a few ingredients such as plain low-fat yogurt, honey, a granola bar, pumpkin pie spice, and canned pumpkin. There are plenty of different recipes online on how to prepare it, just Google search it and watch how many pop up! Pick your favorite and enjoy your delicious treat. It’s not only a good, mouthwatering snack but a simple, quick recipe.

I know we all obsess over the famous Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks. They’re to die for! Well… now you can make your own at home! The recipes are actually almost as good as the ones you buy. Once again, just search for one of Google or Pinterest and go to town :).

With learning how good pumpkins are for our health, the possibilities are endless!  What are your favorites?

XOXO, Chels

Crazy for Collars

Crazy for Collars
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/chelsea-crockett-crazy-for-collars.jpg

As we all know, layering is a must in autumn and winter. Why not have fun with it? I love the look of collars. They add a preppy flare to any ensemble. There are so many kinds of collars, too! Here are a few outfits that combine collars with other cute fall fashion staples.collars

  1. With a simple blazer: I love this cool, classy look. Pair a simple white button up collared shirt with a simple blazer, such as a navy or grey blazer. Button the shirt all the way up to the top so that all of the buttons are buttoned and the collar is displayed. Add in a long simple necklace, skinnies and booties!

  2. With a cable knit sweater: This is the perfect preppy look. Layer a cable knit sweater over a white collared shirt for an easy, classy look! Add in a pair of riding boots and wayfarer sunglasses and you will be the most preppy lady on the block!

  3. Dressy: I love sequins. Anything that sparkles is totally my fav. That is why I love this sequin collar trend! You can dress it down and wear it to school with a pair of skinnies and flats, or you can dress it up with a blazer and wedges! Love love!

How will YOU be wearing collars and keeping it preppy this fall? Comment below and let me know!

Pantene Beautiful Lengths: What it"s all About

Pantene Beautiful Lengths: What it"s all About
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Beautiful-Lengths-Logo.jpg

Today, my beautiful Insiders, I am going to tell you about a program that is very near and dear to me. It is the Pantene Beautiful Lengths project, and I love what it stands for and I am so excited to do my part. Here is what Pantene Beautiful Lengths is all about.

Pantene Beautiful lengths was created in 2006. The program inspires people to grow, cut and donate their healthy hair to create 6_pantene-pro-v-beautiful-lengths-strengthening-conditionerfree, real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments. As of right now, Pantene Beautiful Lengths has received nearly 600,000 hair donations from everyone from men, women and children and has provided the funds to turn these donations into free, real-hair wigs. The wigs are distributed through The American Cancer Society’s nationwide network of wig banks for free. Since the program started 34,000 real-hair wigs have been provided to female cancer patients. Are you interested in donating your hair to this awesome program? One thing you must do is prepare your hair. Use strengthening shampoo and conditioner, like the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Collection, which will help you to achieve healthy, long hair that can be shared with a woman who needs it most through the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Program.

Want to learn more about this amazing program? Visit http://pantene.com/en-us/experience-main-section2/beautiful-lengths. I am so proud of Pantene for starting this incredible program! I cannot wait to donate.

Are you going to participate in this fantastic program?

Master the Dark Lip Trend

Master the Dark Lip Trend
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/chelsea-crockett-dark-lip-trend-.jpg

Let’s be real. We all love rocking the dark-lips trend! I think it is so romantic and mysterious. I am working on getting this look down pat! Here is How I am mastering the trend:dark lips 2

  • Keep it even: In order for your lipstick to go on smooth and look its very best, you need to have smooth lips. By gently exfoliating your lips you can remove all of the dead skin and prep your lips for perfect lip color! Also, make sure they are nice and moisturized.

  • Prep your skin: Spend a little bit of time working on your skin. I like to apply my concealer, foundation, powder, bronzer, and blush before I put on my lipstick. If you put the lipstick on before you do your face makeup, you smudge your lip color all over the place.

  • Find your hue: If your skin is an olive tone, go for a deep burgundy. If you have dark skin, go for a merlot hue and mix it with a tiny bit of brown.

  • Lip line? With dark colors, you usually do not have to line your lips before applying lipstick. You can if you want, but it’s not a total must!

I love this super chic trend. I always feel more sassy and confident when I have a bold lip color going on. Do you? Comment below and let me know if you like this fall fashion trend!

Preppy Elbow Patches

Preppy Elbow Patches
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/chelsea-crockett-elbow-patches-.jpg

elbow patches 1Elbow patches may seem like a thing of the past, but trust me, they are SO not. I just re-discovered the trend very recently and am so glad I did! Elbow patches add a hipster, preppy vibe to any sweater or long sleeved shirt. Here is how YOU can get hip with the trend!

  1. Sweater: Toss on an elbow patch sweater, dark skinnies, and riding boots for a super stylish, preppy fall every day outfit!

  2. Blazer: Nothing says “I am preppy AND classy, and super stylish to boot” like an elbow patch blazer. End of story.

  3. Shirt: This is one of the easiest way to rock the trend. Just pair a long sleeved elbow patch high low shirt with a pair of black leggings, boot socks, and riding boots. I would wear this look to school, to work, to church, out shopping, pretty much anywhere! If you want to make your outfit stand out, snag a shirt with GLITTER elbow patches!

I am going to be trying an elbow patch DIY here in the near future, so keep an eye out for that! I am going to attempt to add elbow patches to one of my old sweaters to spruce it up. Stay tuned!

5 Cures for Jet Lag

5 Cures for Jet Lag
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Chelsea-Crockett-Jet-Lag.jpg

Dr. Chelsea is back again! And with the holidays coming up, airports will be packed and plane tickets will sell like no other time of year. Long, early flights to other time zones can really take a toll on any traveler, no matter where you might be headed. Once jet lag sets in, you may have little to no motivation for anything! Here are a few cures and tips on how to beat jet lag!

  1. Okay, I’m going to start out with the most obvious solution that I put in almost any advice article… HYDRATE! Water is the answer to everything. Making sure you’re not anywhere close to dehydration will help enormously.

  2. Be sure to follow a “jet lag diet.” I know how tempting it is to grab some quick airport food but that doesn’t mean your choices can’t be healthy. Find a good salad, sandwich, or wrap and go from there!Chelsea Crockett - Jet Lag Time

  3. Make sure you get enough sleep before your flight. Sleep deprivation is never a good idea when going into a new time zone. Get at least 8 hours every night leading up to your trip. I promise, it will make a difference!

  4. Plan ahead. If you like to keep your trips planned out and scheduled, add in some time for resting. Avoid doing anything in advance that’s going to wear you out even more then you will be.

  5. If you don’t have problems with sleeping on planes, schedule a night flight. Especially if your flight is long, sleeping it away is not a bad idea! It will also help the time fly by (literally!).

Do you have your own secret remedy for jet lag? Share with me below!

Love, Chelsea

Tips for Gel Nail Polish

Tips for Gel Nail Polish
http://www.chelseacrockett.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Chelsea-Crockett-Tips-for-Gel-Nail-Polish.png

If now isn’t a better time to try out gel nails, I don’t know when is! Gel nail polish is extremely popular right now and healthier for your nails than acrylics. You can get them done at almost any nail salon or you can even do them at home yourself! Here are some tips to get salon nails at home!

Chelsea Crockett - Gel Nail Polish KitFirst off, you will have to purchase a gel nail starter kit. You can find one at Sephora, Ulta, or on Amazon (If you want to explore some, click here!). They can be pricey, so putting it on the top of your Christmas wish list isn’t a bad idea! After you have your kit, the directions will let you know the next step… But getting the salon finish isn’t hard with a little advice.

For each of your polish coats, here are a couple secrets to keep them long-lasting. First, make sure your cuticles aren’t overgrown. Second, make sure you keep the polish from touching your skin. Both of these secrets will prevent your polish from peeling off within the first few days. Another tip that may or may not be obvious is to keep your nails clipped. If your nails are brittle and overgrown, they’re more likely to break off along with your polish!

So… what’s a better thing to be listed on the top of your Christmas wish list?

Enjoy! – Chelsea
