Teasing your hair can be a daunting task. Knowing how to tease your hair and the steps to take when teasing it can be crucial if you ever want full hair with lots of body! Here are 4 tips to teasing your hair:

1. Start off on the right foot: get a good teasing brush! I recommend a brush with boar bristles. When washing your hair in the shower, do not use conditioner. The silicone in conditioner prevents the hair from locking in texture!

2. Do the prep work: When your hair is damp, spray the roots with a sea salt spray. Then add in your favorite mousse and blow dry your hair! When your hair is dry, spray dry shampoo to the roots.chelsea crockett teased hair

3. The manual labor: Once your hair is totally dry and you have sprayed the dry shampoo on your roots, take a section of hair about a half inch wide. Hold your hair tightly and straight back, away from your head. Then tease the section! Use the pointed end of the handle of the brush to shape your hair after you have teased it.

4. Make it last: When you spray your hair with hairspray, make sure the spray is not water based, because that will make your freshly teased ‘do all frizzy! Hold the hairspray the length of the can away from your hair and spray in the direction you want your hair to lay. Finish the look off with shine spray!
